Now some teams have 15 man rosters posted on NBA.com, some have 12,13,or 14 players listed. Obviously if every team has 3 white players then the NBA is 20% white. We fall two players short of an NBA with three white players per team. I'm guessing that these teams will be making cuts and bring their rosters down to 12. But as of right now, the NBA is over 20% white. I did not count anyone who may be bi-racial. All latin players are either from Spain, Italy, or Argentina.

You missed 4 players:

Grizzles: SG Casey Jacobsen-a white American player from Standford got back into the NBA after starring in Europe.

Cavaliers: SG-SF Sasha Pavlovic-Yugoslavian player saw limited playing time last year backing up Lebron and Larry Hughes got more playing time late in the season and playoffs. These first two are without a doubt white.

Nuggets: F Eduardo Najera- Definitely white IMO; He's a tall Mexican player (Mestizo's are almost always short) who looks very white; has little Mestizo blood if any.

Magic: This is a tricky team. Lots of ethnic blending on this team:

SF Hedu Turkoglu- I would definitely argue him as white. He is 100% Turkish which is by definition a European country. He is a dark Turk, so he probably has "a bit" of Persian or Arab blood in him. But I would consider him white for sure. Especially since Europeans are closest related to Middle Easterners (second closest related would be east Asians and one particular group of migratory Native Americans).

There are "still" some theorists that claim Europeans didn't reach Europe from the Middle East until about 9,000 BC after the Ice Age. Although Geneticists are pointing to the Paleolithic Continuum theory which places first European migration "at least" back to 25,000 BC, probably even closer to 35,000-40,000 BC years ago before the last Ice Age.

Still another argument would be that "a lot of whites" in Balkan states, even Sicilians and Spaniards have Arab blood in them from the Arab conquests. So who is really white? I think you're getting too technical here. NBA players certainly think of Turkoglu as a white Euro.

SF-James Augustine is at least 3/4 white IMO, but I will agree with you for our purposes of not calling him white.

PG-Carlos Arroyo: would be considered a foreign Hispanic by NBA players, but he is Puerto Rican and probably as much as half black. Still he's a player I would cheer for to bring some diversity to the coal black NBA. But I would agree he's not white.

I like basketball as a sport and the re-emergence of white players due to the rising popularity of basketball in Europe. However will this influx of European basketball players stop young White American talent making it through to the NBA because I can't really see the NBA getting any whiter to be frank. I can't see Spencer Hawes or Josh McRoberts getting much playing time this season.

Najera is genetically similar to a Johnny Bench or Brett Farve or Jack Dempsey he predominately white but has some native ancestry. What about Jordan Farmmer? He has a "Black" dad and Jewish mother, he looks virtually 100 percent white unless you looked at him closely. Ethnic wise he has a similar look to Grady Sizemore.

I thought the Nba was a little more white than that . I remember several years ago some of the announcers were saying if the trend continues with European players the Nba will be 50 % white in the near future. HAH. What a bunch of baloney. I am sure the NBA could be much more white but the powers that be wont allow it. The lack of white Americans in the game is ridiculous. It is somewhere in the single digits percent wise.

I did not consider bi-racial people as white. Example: Jason Kidd. If I did that then as * would be required at the end of my report.

If someone would like to make a report on the number of bi-racial players in the NBA then feel free to do so.

Sorry. It's just that here in Southern California we have so many bi - racial Mexicans. They would like to be considered white. If we allow this then eventually...

My general rule of thumb for our purposes is that I consider an athlete white if they are "at least 3/4 white" and have "no black African blood at all" in them. Black Africans are who the caste system caters to above all others.
