    PGA Tour 2016-2017

I'm glad to see Dustin Johnson back in the win column and the great play from Jordan Spieth, including a couple recent wins.

Mayweather vs McGregor could be around the corner!

I thought McGregor fought very well, considering his total lack of experience in boxing. I'm surprised that the referee didn't give McGregor a standing 8 count, rather than calling an end to the bout suddenly in the 10th round. Anyway, it's over with and we can look foward to the Golovkin...

    2017 MLB Season

Hoskins is off to a great start. I hope he can become a consistent power hitter for the Phillies in the coming years and convince them to quit using so many players from Latin America.

    2017 New England Patriots

Edelman's injury is a real shame. I was looking forward to another 1,000 yard season from him. Hopefully he can recover fully and have a big year in 2018.

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80! -- Part Two

No, it's seven officially. The ones in 2012 and 2013 you list, as well as the 9.98 earlier this year in beating Gatlin don't count because of the wind. You can read through this list for confirmation: http://www.alltime-athletics.com/m_100ok.htm

    Christian McCaffrey

I doubt we'll see 1000 yards from Burkhead, probably more like 700-800 rushing, but I do expect McCaffrey to get past 1000, something in the 1100-1200 range, barring injury.

    Tiger Woods

I remember a discussion here several years ago when so many in the media were declaring the PGA pretty much dead without Tiger. Well, the tour seems to be doing just fine without him.

    Jeff Heath - defensive back

I always thought Heath had the physical skills to play CB in the NFL, but I'll settle for a starting safety spot.

    2017 MLB Season

I can see Trout winning the MVP but it's going to be tough with only his 83rd game played tonight. He'll need to play in every remaining game and continue to tear the cover off the ball. 26 HRs, 60 RBIs, .330 BA, an unreal 1.127 OPS, 5.6 WAR via Fangraphs as of yesterday.

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80! -- Part Two

I found the list I was looking for. He's done it seven times, all in 2010 and 2011. The one earlier this year was wind aided, I think. http://www.alltime-athletics.com/m_100ok.htm

    2017 MLB Season

My Pirates have had a disappointing season, with Jung Ho Kang's DUIs, Starling Marte's PED suspension, and Gregory Polanco's endless minor "injuries" being the main culprits.

Dusty Baker: Worst Manager of All Time?

Baker has underachieved with many talented teams and is well known for mismanaging pitching staffs and ruining promising arms. But he gets a pass for a lot of it because he's black, just like Ron "Cocaine" Washington.

    Landry Jones

Jones has an injury that's limiting him in the preseason so scholar-afflete Dobbs is getting a lot of backup work and looking, not surprisingly, overmatched. So of course the best way to improve the reserve QB problem would be to move Jones to #3 and sign Kaepernick...

Christophe Lemaitre "White Lightning" 9.92 and 19.80! -- Part Two

I'm having a discussion elsewhere about Lemaitre and I'm trying to confirm how many times he's run a sub 10 100m. I'm sure of at least two, but I think it might be three. Thanks!

    T.J. Watt

Watt's looking really good so far. He'll have to play like a star to get any respect.

    2017 NFL Draft

I don't even want to know the # of white men drafted this year. It has to be an all-time low for the 7-round drafts. If memory serves me right, the average since this site started has been about 60 each year. I guess we should have a bunch of white men as top QBs next year, which should be...

    2017 NFL Draft

Based solely on ability, Hansen and Switzer should've been drafted in Day 2. We'll see what happens today.

    2017 NFL Draft

I was thinking the same thing, Don. Peterman is available to start Day 3, so we'll see if the Steelers get a chance to select him. But we all know Tomlin's dream is to have a black starting QB. He was obsessed with Dennis Dixon and wanted Vick when he first got out of jail.

    T.J. Watt

I was very surprised to see the Steelers take Watt with their #1 pick. Tomlin probably wanted Reuben Foster, just like he took Jason Worilds over Sean Lee several years ago. I bet Watt ends up being better than Foster. Anyway, let's hope for the best for Watt. And I hope Chickillo and...

    Tiger Woods

After Tiger turned pro in 1996, we heard for many years that he would be just the first of many blacks on the PGA Tour now that they were getting a chance. The First Tee was set up in '97 largely to get more young blacks into golf. Well, where are they? Of course there had been many blacks...

Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko April 29 London Wembley Stadium

I'm looking forward to this fight. Klitschko will be in tremendous shape and will methodically dominate Joshua on the way to victory. I'd like to see him win by KO, but a convincing win by UD would be fine too.

    Minor League Mgr Touts Tebow

I'm cautiously optimistic about Tebow's chances to make the majors. At age 29, he's really going to have to move up the ladder a couple rungs this year. He really should've started his baseball career last year. Let's see where he is come September and then we can more accurately assess his...

    The Rooney Rule

Steelers owner Dan Rooney passed away today at age 84. When I heard the news on the car radio, they talked about the Rooney rule, his hiring of Mike Tomlin, and his overall support of minorities. No mention of all the SB titles.

    Landry Jones

The Steelers have Big Ben, Jones and Mettenberger as their three QBs for next season. Unfortunately, some so-called experts think they should draft afflete Kizer out of ND to replace Ben in a year or two. I sure hope they don't.

    2017 MLB Season

My Pirates are off to a slow start but they do have some talented young starting pitchers. Jameson Taillon has a power arm with excellent control. Look for him to become the staff ace. Gerrit Cole appears healthy after an injury-plagued 2016. I expect a solid season from him. Chad Kuhl is the...
