The greatest and most clutch kicker in NFL history, Adam Vinatieri, is retiring after 25 years, yes 25 years! Morten Andersen, George Blanda, Lou Groza and Jan Stenerud are the only kickers to have made the Hall of Fame. Vinatieri is a cinch to be the fifth, the only question is whether he gets in on the first ballot or not.

Wentz injured his foot, feeling a "twinge" and as Weenieworld reports the severity of it is unknown. But then Weenieworld proclaims that Wentz is out "indefinitely," shoddy reporting at best and likely motivated by an already existing desire for him to fail. Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be serious:

Colts QB Carson Wentz suffered a foot injury Thursday that will keep him out indefinitely. Wentz is undergoing further testing on his foot, which he injured at the end of Thursday's practice. Second-year QB Jacob Eason took over with the first team offense Friday, with Sam Ellinger working as his backup. The Athletic's Zak Keefer reported that Wentz felt a "twinge" in his foot, but the severity of the injury is still unknown. It's possible the Colts look to add a veteran quarterback in the coming days.

I want Eason to get reps. 10-15 years ago he would of been a first round pick. Wentz is tough though. Probably a minor injury.

That sucks as Carson was in the ideal situation to revive his career in a major way. But after a while it's hard to have faith in a quarterback that keeps getting injured. This will be the fourth season in his six-year NFL career that he will have missed games. . .

Right now it just sounds like it is the preseason...hopefully he will be back for week one.

Another setback for Wentz.. Guy can't stay healthy, it's a shame. At least Colts are well stocked with QBs. Eason has a real opportunity here, and now Ehlinger should make the 53.

It's gotten to the point that every team pretty much has to have at least one Black QB on the roster as at least a long shot backup.

And he will be taking valuable reps away from Eason and Ehlinger. Wentz can’t come back soon enough.

Colts sign Brett Hundley...

Landry Jones is still a free agent. He's a proven NFL quarterback as a back-up. He still has possible upside as a starter.

Jones is a much better quarterback than Hundley. The only reason he's not with an NFL team is he's white.

Wentz now has a 5-12 week timeline - he will undergo surgery. Hopefully Eason shows well during training camp and preseason.

Sounds like Wentz, Nelson and Ryan Kelly are all on schedule to return from their respective injuries fairly soon. Good news indeed. Glad to see both Ehlinger and Eason getting valuable reps during the preseason - both in practice and games.

Wentz is a QB we should all support after getting treated terribly by the media, members of the Eagles organization, DWFs etc. I hope he excels this season. The media will certainly have the crosshairs firmly on both Wentz and Goff this year.

Good news here. I'll be rooting for Wentz as much as any player this season:

The Athletic's Bob Kravitz said barring a setback, Carson Wentz (foot) will start Week 1 against the Seahawks.
Wentz returned to practice Monday about three weeks after undergoing surgery on a foot injury he's dealt with for years. By all accounts, Wentz was spectacular upon his return, delivering accurate intermediate and deep throws and moving without a limp. Kravitz said "there’s still an outside chance the surgically repaired foot will give him trouble Tuesday or sometime in the next three weeks, but based on what we saw as Wentz took part in most of the day’s drills, he is on target to be behind center against the Seahawks." Those who drafted Colts wideouts at reduced ADPs in the past few weeks could be handsomely rewarded come the regular season. Wentz, meanwhile, should only be drafted in superflex formats.

Weenieworld with an outright lie on Ehlinger. In fact Ehlinger was one of the better stories of training camp this year.

Glad to hear Ehlinger escaped a dreaded ACL tear.

Colts reserve QB Sam Ehlinger will miss 5-6 weeks with a sprained ACL.
It means Jacob Eason will get the Week 1 call if Carson Wentz (foot) isn't ready. Dual-threat Ehlinger had not been impressive in preseason action, so the Colts' decision was already trending that direction, anyways. It is possible Ehlinger is simply stashed on injured reserve. If that happens before Tuesday, he would be done for the year. If he "makes" the initial 53-man roster, he could then be stashed and return in as few as three weeks.

Andrew Sendejo has been signed by the Colts. Great to see him still getting to play at the age of 34, white safeties rarely ever get to play past the age of 25.

There are probably ten to 15 guys who regularly point out the insanity out there in this site. I don’t know how y’all have the time to find things like Leonard fan did above with weenieworld but I’m grateful you do.

I don’t know who owns the major recruiting sites or how they are compensated but I would suspect it’s probably very similar to other mass media and therefore completely corrupted.

Good stuff about Sendejo. He gets a pass due to having a Spanish surname. 3.55 gpa at Rice while playing football at a high level. Impressive

Colts cut Jacob Eason. Apparently they think Hundley is better. At least Ehlinger has been removed from IR - he actually showed a lot of promise during the preseason.
