Since 2005 the white starter list is 5,5,5,5,5,6,2,8,7,8,7,4 and 3 last year. This year about the same.

Because of a COVID protocol the famous adorable bulldog Georgia mascot won't be allowed on the field. The logic behind this decision completely escapes me. Another team I haven't rooted for in ages. Just a diehard caste operation year after year. Not sure USC transfer QB JT Daniels, who suffered an ACL tear last August, will be ready for their opener but there are also rumblings a black QB might beat him out. The Wake transfer QB opted out.

Any hope whatsoever here? Well Georgia does seem to tolerate having white tight ends but while both are athletically gifted neither sophomore John FitzPatrick or freshman Brett Seither are slotted to start. Surprisingly they did bring in quick slot WR Ladd McConkey this year. One to track down the road. And fast LB Nate McBride, now a senior, has been relegated to special teams and continues to be buried down the depth chart. Cheers!

Players to watch: TE John Fitzpatrick, TE Brett Seither, OL Warren Ericson and LB Nate McBride.

OFFENSE:
QB JT Daniels (SO)
OG Ben Cleveland (SR)
OT Owen Condon (SO)

DEFENSE:

McBride just wasting away at Georgia. Was it really worth committing to hometown team to play fetch for 4 years?!

I read an interesting article on McBride last year. It was written by a Georgia sportswriter who claimed that he was told by a couple of the coaching staff that McBride was hesitant in filling the gaps. He would rather tackle from behind using his speed rather than straight on contact. I am going to see if I can find the link to the article and post it. I don't like to post something that belittles a white player.

Could be, then why keep him at LB or even on the team then? Perhaps a simple move back to RB would have been in play. But whitey ain't allowed to do that either.

Again maybe McBride is just a workout warrior. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt though given the patterns we all know.

Sounds a lot like Roquan Smith who was drafted top 10 a few years ago and was lauded as a sideline to sideline LB who made plays in space.

I do find it funny that Newman opted out due to covid when he was being hyped as a 1st round qb and part of the preseason heisman discussion over the summer. I do hope that JT Daniels is cleared and he gains a solid grasp on the starting job.

Thanks to @Shadowlight for knocking out UGA.

I could not find the original article, but I did read about their depth chart and McBride is at the bottom of their outside LB spot. He will be on all punt and kickoff coverage teams.

Stetson Bennett and JT Daniels should be the two top QBs on the depth chart.

Georgia redshirt sophomore QB JT Daniels (knee) is available to play in Saturday's game vs. Auburn according to HC Kirby Smart.

Daniels, whose 2019 season at USC came to an early end due to a torn ACL, was not cleared to play in the Bulldogs' season opener against Arkansas. But he's been deemed good to go for Georgia's matchup with Auburn, which is good news for a team whose quarterbacks struggled in the win over the Razorbacks. D'Wan Mathis started the opener and could conceivably start against Auburn, but the leash will likely be a short one.

JT Daniels came out slinging once he was cleared from his knee injury - he was a mad bomber and clearly unafraid to throw the deep ball. Rooting hard for Daniels to torch the SEC this season. It's great when a talented White QB is able to escape a logjam at the position (for Daniels it was at USC) to go to another program and find alot of success.

Remember the laughable hype behind the black quarterback that was supposed to be the missing element to UGAs offense but turned out to be awful - now he is Diversity U (Temple) savior.
