Yep another week starts off tonight. Troy will be on as sophomore WR Luke Whittemore stats through five games are 19-247-1.

I don't think I will be posting again until Saturday so there are a few other games of interest worth mentioning.

UNLV as mentioned last week has a white RB named Chad Magyar. Like Troy I haven't seen them play but they will be on CBSSN Friday against Fresno State.

The Thursday night main feature match is Stanford at UCLA ( I think). Two sophomore wide receivers for the Bruins of note of course are Chase Cota and Kyle Philips. Philips is coming off two straight strong games. But this has been a black hole year for white wide receivers so I approach this with trepidation but hoping for the best just the same.

The most intriguing match up is the Friday night Northwestern- Ohio State tilt. What makes this game special is there will be at least four if not five (Chris Bergin of NW) future NFL draft picks playing linebacker. And everyone of them is a junior. I love good linebacker play so for Ohio State there is Tuf Borland ( who may declare) and Pete Werner and for NW there is Paddy Fisher (who will likely declare) and Blake Gallagher.

Now for some of you the bad news. Because the ALCS (baseball) is postponed tonight they will play on FS1 Friday night which bumps off the Ohio State game. I just noticed that they will televise it on the Big Ten Network which I get but some of you may not. I would have thought they would have slid it over to the Fox Business Network but I guess not.

As I mentioned before there will be no IVY league game Friday night. However I think I get a couple of games on a local feed on Saturday including Princeton and PENN in separate games.

Kyle Phillips with a good game tonight so far, I have hope he can become one of our top WR’s this season and in the coming seasons. He has a 10-100-2 stat line going into the 4th quarter which puts him at 31-342-4 for the season in addition to his punt return TD he had a few weeks ago. He only played in 4 games last year so he is a freshman. I’ll say this Kyle Phillips WILL be a 2023 NFL draft pick, mark my words!

Arkansas State WR Brandon Bowling finally scored his first career TD tonight but it was his only catch of the game.

Ok I will wager you on that Red raider--if only because Philips will be a senior for the 2022 draft. Ha.

Seriously though Philips might be the first white WR from an FCS school to have reached 10 receptions so far this season. I am pretty sure he is the only one from a Big 5 conference.

I like your optimism but I can't say I am there just yet with Philips. Although he looks a little like Hunter Renfrow out there and being a sound punt returner boosts his resume. This offense is so unpredictable that I worry that his progress could stall but if he can build on things sure I could see him getting drafted. He has the necessary quickness etc. to make it.

I don't think it is any secret here that for white wide receivers the season has been veering towards a complete disaster and the odds of white wide receivers being drafted in 2020 are remote, barring a small school riser out of the blue. And 2021 is looking nearly equally as bleak.

So any good news is welcome. Too bad Kyle's teammate Chase Cota has been quiet the past two games.

UCLA is that rare big school employing two white wide receivers ala Northwestern but I have a deep abiding issue with teams like UCLA who do not field any white defenders. Inexcusable from my perspective.

He redshirted last year so he’ll be a senior in 2022 if he plays out his eligibility, I think he can emerge as a guy on the NFL radar if he keeps it up for 4 years. Very fast and shifty compared to say Hunter Renfrow. If he keeps up his current pace he will finish this season with about 700 receiving yards and 8 TD’s, not bad for a redshirt-freshman. The QB play is the wild card though, who knows how that’ll go for the next few years. Speaking of UCLA, they also have a big freshman receiver Kain Medrano who we should see in the next few years.

And I believe Phillips is the 2nd white receiver with 10+ catches this year. Arkansas State receiver Brandon Bowling who also played last night started off the season with a 12 catch game but has not done much since then.

Nice Opener Shadowlight!

The Rice brothers from Fresno State ....Leading Tackler /LB Justin Rice picks up the Fumble for the TD! Jared Rice with the TD Catch! Josh Hokit another TD! This 3rd...7 - 33 - 3

UNLV's Chad Magyar only had 2 carries for 3 yards in 1st Half..then Starting RB fumbled ...he got to play the next few series (now 10 - 44 ) ; before taking a lower leg it; running /limping off field ; Tough as Nails!....KNEE on Ice ; don't think it's ligament damage ; but better to be safe than sorry.

Of course last night the redundant Edelman ; Welker Slot comparisons from the announcers came for UCLA's Kyle Phillips. Renfrow nice comparison; think he has some Trent Taylor in him too...

Leonardfan...Nice pick up last Week on Burrow vs. Tua ....who has benefited much more on Yards After the Catch...actually found it wasn't even close.
YAC (Yards After Catch)
Burrow - 816 yds
Tua - 1314 yds

ADOT (Average Depth of Target on ALL attempts)

Burrow - 10.06 yds
Tua - 8.39 yds

This is the Key stat - Depth Adj. Accuracy %
Burrow - 66.65% (Burrow is much more accurate down field)
Tua - 48.75%
This stat tells you Tua throws a lot of easy, short passes since his overall completion % is 73.63%

Completion %

Burrow - 79.6% (currently 3% above the all-time completion percentage record... this includes every QB ever since 1956)
Tua - 73.63%
Completions/Attempts
Burrow - 148/186
Tua - 134/182
Adj. Completion %
Burrow - 87.57% (this is insane!)
Tua - 77.91%

Yards
Burrow - 2157 yds
Tua - 2011 yds

I should know better than to question Red raider. Alas the joke ends up being on me. Ha. I'll be damned but you are right UCLA WR Philips is a red shirt freshman. The new rule confuses me because I watched Philips play a few games last year. That is even better as far as his draft status goes. But he has to perform in a consistent and improving manner over the next couple of years or he will be ignored.

The Ohio State game against Northwestern was an ugly blowout. The only good news is all four of the NFL type linebackers played well. Pete Werner of Ohio State is very rangy and athletic and Paddy Fisher looks to be a first round lock if he declares. As usual Blake Gallagher was in on a ton of tackles and Tuf Borland is a rock in the middle. Meanwhile Riley Lees didn't put up much in the way of stats and the QB Hunter Johnson situation has gone down hill. He didn't take a snap last night.

The Ohio State coach Ryan Day reminds me of Tom Osborne. The smartest guy in the room. So was Bill Walsh but he was an arrogant prick and by all accounts Day is a likeable sort in the Tom Osborne mode. He will be a head coach in the NFL before you know it. Ohio State is too overall caste but they do churn out quality white NFL ready defenders and have awesome tight ends. Ohio State has a lot of talent but I think what puts them over the top is Day. They have a huge game next Saturday against Wisconsin and later on another undefeated team in Penn State. That is if Penn State beats Michigan tonight. Of course Michigan looms too but they haven't beaten the Buckeyes for a while.

As far as the Tua vs. Burrow discussion above I am amazed there isn't at least a little trepidation regarding Tua only for the fact that in recent times Alabama QBs have not taken the NFL by storm. If I was voting for the Heisman today it would have to be Burrow. He lit up Florida who many consider having the best D in the country. Forget Hurts. He plays in a conference that has too many horrible defenses.

Clemson is on early at Louisville. One of the highlights for me this season has been the play of the Stud Brothers, Tanner Muse and Nolan Turner. Purdue is at Iowa early too another game of interest for many of us I assume.

Won't get a chance to see Ole Miss QB Plumlee. They are on the SEC Network. Speaking of which, apparently Comcast and the ACC Network have not reached an agreement unless I am just not finding it on my remote.

I will also be keeping an eye on a couple of IVY League games ( Princeton and PENN) I will get on local feeds but Yale, who plays Richmond, won't be televised in my area. Strange 6:00 PM EST starting time. What the hell happened to Yale last Saturday?

RB Max Borghi will be featured on ESPNU early evening and if I can stay awake at least for a while two of my favorite college players will be in action late night as Air Force and speedster RB Kade Remsberg start at 11:00 PM at Hawaii. I won't make it to the end. Also a little earlier a chance to see super stud LB David Woodward as Utah State plays at home against Nevada. I'll be watching his every move. A dazzling talent.

Sophomore WR Blake Proehl's East Carolina team are also televised this evening. And Iowa State plays Texas Tech but in terms of caste both of these teams have not been as white friendly as I had hoped however Iowa State appears to be playing more whites as the season has progressed. They have a good coach. On paper the Texas Tech white wide receivers looked promising but so far not much positive has happened with them. Another bummer note this season.

We need some good news this Saturday. I am sick of being all tensed up and angry every Saturday this season when I should be enjoying things.

Iowa marched in downfield for a TD but the FB should have been given the ball on what looked like a a fake for a Stanley run, in the end a real athlete vultured a score

I'm surprised no one mentioned this. Kyle "The Ice Man" Trask threw for 4 TDs today. Florida vs South Carolina on the road. If Florida beats Georgia in 2 weeks, then they're in the SEC championship game. Then they have a chance at the playoff. Look at Kyle Trask. Look at his high school career. Just look at it, trust me.

We all knew Cottrell could do it, the ONE time he has got to touch the ball since week 1 he scored a 41 yard TD. Such a slap in the face to a promising player.

NC State WR Thayer Thomas had 2 TD catches.

Ball State WR Riley Miller with a 4-87-2 stat line at half time! I’m assuming they will mainly run the ball in the 2nd half since they’re up 38-0.

Tried watching a few minutes of the LSU VS MISS ST game when I realized that the Dallas Mavericks basketball team has more white guys on the court at one time that both these teams combined. Are there no white boys in either state who can play defense or catch a football???? Oh I’m sorry I guess my racism is showing again.

I hated to see Wisconsin get upset today. They have always been alot more fair with our guys over the years and are almost always a very talented football team. There were ranked 6th so if will
be interesting to see how far they drop in the next college top 25 poll.

NIU WR Cole Tucker followed up his 100+ yard game last week with a 6-82-1 game today. He is emerging as their #1 receiver, he has been average in the punt return game though.

Big Virginia Tech TE Dalton Keene playing RUNNING BACK today. He has had 6 carries for 24 yards. I don’t know why he’s playing RB but I hope they keep using him there, very rare to see a guy that’s 6’4” 255lbs in the backfield.

Mizzou is going against SEC rules using a white RB (Dawson Downing), white WR (Barrett Banister), and a white punt returner (Cade Musser).

SMU won big today. TJ McDaniel had 9 carries for 39 yards. It's so frustrating that the 2 seniors get the bulk of the carries. He is better than both of them. On the bright side he will be the
star running back heading into next fall. Can't wait to see this kid tear it up. TJ McDaniel still has 3 years of college left so be ready for him to really show his athletecism.

I was glad to see Oregon win. Even though I like Washington too, the Ducks have a better chance to make the playoffs if they keep on winning! They also have a qb that should be the
number 1 pick in next years NFL Draft!

Washington State is finally playing good again. They are leading Colorado by a score of 21-3 and it's almost half time. Max Borghi had a 47 yard td run early and is on track for a huge game!

Way to go Mad Max LamBorghini! :)
