Up next for the Thursday night game is the Tennessee Titans at the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both of these teams have been major snooze-inducers.

From a caste standpoint, both of these teams don't have much going for them. Sure, the Titans have Adam Humphries, but no matter how wide-open he is, don't expect everyone's favorite Polynesian to be throwing his way. Every other skill position player on the team is a magical upsider, even the tight ends.

Things are a little better with the Jags, with Gardner Minshew showing great promise at QB. He even has a couple of palefaces at TE to throw at in James O'Shaughnessy and Geoff Swaim.

Since I'll probably be driving while the game is on, I will use caution if I listen to the game on the radio. Don't want to have this one put me to sleep!

Wingard with the forced fumble on the punt return. Minshew throws a td on the next play.

Thank you Leonardfan for mentioning Andrew Wingard's Forced Fumble.....No way he should have gone Undrafted!

Minshew has some of the "It" factor going for him at QB.

Mariota not very good - certainly not playing at the level of a 2nd overall pick. Not very accurate.

Wow what a drop by westbrook - third of the night and a perfectly placed pass.

Minshew looks like the real deal. Keeps making great throws. On this drive, he dropped a beauty into an affletes hands in the end zone. The afflete bobbled the ball through his hands. Aikman pointed out it was already his 3rd drop of the night.

at one point, Fournette had 11 carries for -8 yards. he finally broke a long run to make his stats appear decent.

I came here tO post the same thing. That would have been the worst statline in memory until he broke the 60+ yarder.

Watched 3 quarters of the game - MarioTA, Fournette and Henry are the supposed marquee players - all played bad. Fournette is essentially a power back the Jaguars used the 4th pick on, Mariota was the new breed of qb - taken 2nd overall in that woeful 2015 draft. Henry was a second round pick - he has has a good career so far but was not very good last night.

Minishew looks good - Aikman repeatedly praised his accuracy and was quick to point out drops by the Jags WRs (the same thing that plaqued Bortles) Hopefully Daniel Jones can follow suit in outperforming the other 2015 1st round qb on Sunday. Minishew has produced some solid buzz in the media as well - something that is not very common for a 6th round qb with 2 starts.

Fournette had the one long run (69 yards), but otherwise he was 14 carries for -3 yards. terrible, but the “splash” play makes it seem outstanding.

I'd actually call Henry's career a disappointment until the last half of last season. Considering he won the Heisman Trophy and Doak Walker Award and was hyped as having an incredible combination of size, speed and running ability, he only rushed for 490 and 744 yards his first two seasons before going over a thousand with 1,059 yards in 2018.

But Tennessee is never going to have a dynamic offense as long as they keep going with the Mariota experiment, now in its fifth season. The pre-game show on the NFL Network opened last night with a comparison of the career stats of Mariota and Ryan Tannehill, and they're very close in the categories that were shown. Steve Smith immediately freaked out, declaring that Tannehill held the Dolphins offense back because he doesn't have much ability and is nothing but a backup, whereas Mariota had been victimized because of the lack of skill players around him. The reality is the opposite, Mariota's receivers, tight ends and running backs have been good enough and the o-line is usually above average, whereas in Tannehill's case the backs and receivers were substandard and most importantly the offensive lines were atrocious. I'm hoping Tannehill gets an opportunity at some point this season, as my guess is he will get the ball out of his hands quicker and with more accuracy than Mariota, and will heavily use Adam Humphries.

Was looking at some Rotowire practice 'updates' and it's quite infuriating.

Demaryius Thomas on the spaz New York Jets - Peyton Manning MADE him and that train has left the station. The Jets' have a habit of screwing over White athletes at several positions. Is Darnold expected to be Superman himself?

Cody Latimer (and other receivers) on the New York Giants - LOL. That's all I have to say.

A few of many examples of a purposeful agenda of exclusion, institutional xenophobia, public shaming, and not providing equal opportunity to the pool of applicants. It's not like there's 20 teams in the league (imagine, that league would be close to 95% black/Poly), there's 32 and this must not stand.

Still a funny statline when he had one run that was longer than his total yardage with 15 carries.

I know Leonardfan has discussed Mariota at length over the years too so it is important to remember long before the new black shiny QBs arrived on the scene, Mariota was seen as the savior. The fast run/pass QB who will "change" the NFL. The hype surrounding him at Oregon and at the draft was off the charts and doubly annoying which is why I can't stand Mariota.

Watching his lethargic kind of sputter ass ways I too wonder why this overrated QB continues to be seen as the Titans answer. We were all concerned about Humphries pairing up with this stiff and so far the results have not been encouraging despite a nice stat line from Thursday which was mostly compiled at garbage time. I agree Tannehill would be a better match.

As I read this I was imagining Steve Sailer saying "80% of your rushing yardage comes from 20% of your rushing attempts". Sailer never actually said that, but if you read his blog enough, it sounds like something he might say.

Hopefully, McCaffrey will get a few of the good 20% this week - last week was an anomaly for CMAC.

James White away from the team to be with his pregnant wife. Should mean more touches for Rex Burkhead.
