Starting in 2017 the Vols started 7 whites and 5 in 2018. Well I think for this season I have uncovered the worst team to root for in all of college football.

Drum roll please. For 2019 they start ZERO whites. That's right. A big goose egg.

Depth chart you ask? Barren. A few whites buried under the two deep except at QB and OL. The back up QB is redshirt freshman JT Shrout.

They play BYU at home September 7th.

Down right bleak.

This is as bad as it gets folks.

I believe this might be the first ever, fully non-white depth chart we've had while tracking college football. There have been lots of twos, some ones, but I don't believe any zeroes. A great stride forward for diversity on the part of Tennessee.

There is a back up OL who is white and a TE Austin Pope ( who I failed to mention above) is listed on the two deep as well. Plus the QB position where the back ups are white. But no whites on the two deep on defense and in general this is one of the caste deluxe teams of all time.

Florida State would have been my first guess with the ground breaking diversity.

According to Athlon's & Ourlads...RG Nathan Niehaus Jr. 6'-6" 300lbs. is a 1st Team Starter;
Fansided has RG Ryan Johnson listed as Starter

Freshman TE Jackson Lowe is one to watch for. He could be a Starter sooner than later.

It sucks not one white athlete is worthy of a scholarship on Defense for the Entire roster?? Only Walk-on's

The Vols have been an irrelevant program for a while.

Does anyone recall approximately how many whites were on this team when Peyton Manning was QB?

Sad to see them fall to this level of diversity.

Looking through the roster it looks normal with a lot of white guys but they are all walk ons who will never see the field.

I believe the Florida Gators had a few dubious “0-22” games back in 2012 or 2013 when Jeff Driskel got injured midway through the season and he was the lone starter
