England shouldn't have so many non-whites on their team.
Sometimes they play as if they don't care at all, other times they seem to deliberately give the ball away.
England's white players are so much better, but the UK commentators keep giving undeserved praise to the non-whites and are unfairly negative about the white players.

Loving the fact that this World Cup is being dominated by Europe and South America,with only Mexico and Japan being the other two countries to qualify.14 teams from Europe and South America and 1 from North America and 1 from Asia.Zero from Africa
(for the first time since 1982),and I expect France,Colombia to bag their bags after the next round,so that only really leave one black team in England to worry about.
I'm not happy Germany got humiliated,but the upside is that the non white players will get the blame and Low will go,finally!

So the group stages are completed,and no team bar Croatia has really set the stage on fire so far.The football in general and the defending in particular has been extremely disappointing.Thinking about Jose Mourinho's Chelsea(the first time) and Greece's legendary team in 2004 brings a tear to the eye now.Italy not qualifying hasn't helped either.
So here's the roadmap to the final now:
Belgium,Spain,Croatia and England seem to have favorable draws.I think Japan,Russia and Denmark should be easily pushed aside and Colombia is the only team with a little chance of pulling off a shocker here.
Argentina's task looks straight forward on paper but the team's been a nervous wreck this tournament and they're not on talking terms with their manager,but I would still back them as France has been really dour so far,especially in their last group game.
I think Uruguay may just edge the game against Portugal due to the contrasting last group games that the two teams have played,but Ronaldo is just too big of a factor on his own for me to make a strong prediction.
Some Coutinho magic may just undo Mexico,whose run so far suddenly doesn't look that great considering just how disinterested Germany were in this tournament,and I really can't pick a favorite in the Sweden-Switerland clash,though I do hope that white Sweden pull through of course.
So what are your thoughts everyone?

A lot of air was let out of my sail with the Germany loss. I fear Brazil could be in the drivers seat now. Although I can't dismiss disciplined Spain who have been solid but not spectacular.
I saw Germany completely out class Sweden in the second half of their game so I am not totally enthralled with Sweden despite their thrashing of Mexico. Mexico will probably fight Brazil hard but I fear Brazil will be too much in the end. I know some here aren't behind the Swiss and their Albanian players (they are white so they pass my sniff test) but like you I don't think Sweden is a lock in that game. The Swiss play with some fire.
If Belgium is healthy, especially the whirling dervish Eden Hazard I don't see Japan beating them.
Sharp points on Uruguay/Portugal match. The Argentina/France match up is going to be huge. Will Messi be the difference? I sure and hell hope so.
I think the one game I differ with you is the Croatia/Denmark clash. One of the rising stars in soccer is attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen who might only be behind Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo as far as player ranking. A superb player he OWNS the Denmark team and they follow his lead. At only 26 I am a big fan having watched him play for Tottenham so he might be enough to topple the Croats who have been pretty tough so far but things get thicker now. [Side note. Denmark has only allowed one goal and that was a penalty kick].
Waiting for England to screw up somewhere along the line like they always manage to do.
I missed all the matches today but hope to get back on board starting Saturday.

England vs. Belgium today was like Muddystan vs. Mysterymeatstan. Shame. Imagine a European team actually being European.

England, Colombia, Sweden, Switzerland. One of those teams will be in the semi-finals. None of them look good enough to deserve to go that far in a major tournament but that's the draw. I'm hoping it is Sweden.
My main wish for the next round is to see France eliminated by Argentina.

This won't quite be a "Rebajlo rant," but my goodness, Germany are the most disappointing team this World Cup. Whether it was complacancy or their "German" Turks in Gundogan and Ozil distracting the team, this team was a shell of it's 2014 form. They really miss the leadership of guys like Schweinsteiger, Klose, and Lahm. Germany played some great possession football, easily out-possessing all three of the teams they played during the group stage. However, the attack looked slow, lethargic, and completely bereft of ideas in the final third, resulting mostly in right-back Joshua Kimmich hurtling crosses into the box without much success.
It wasn't just the minority players who played bad. Werner did not look as good as I thought he would, although when he was moved to the wing when Gomez was subbed on, he was able to use his speed and look more dangerous in trying to create chances in the box. Reus looked like a player coming back from injury, which he was. I was glad to see him score, but he'll be the big "what could have been" for Germany, having missed out so much through injuries. I hope he's not done yet. Thomas Muller was a huge disappointment as well, not getting a sniff at goal, and generally didn't play too well, leading to him getting benched in the last game. It was very obvious Low was playing out-dated possession football, with really no plan to break down the massed defenses they faced. During the first match, with Khedira (allegedly a defensive mid) and Boateng pushed waaaaay too far up the pitch, leaving the Germans vulnerable to counters, which was their undoing. In addition, when teams loaded up the box against the German possession, Low didn't have any new ideas for the team on how to break them down.
I think Gundogan and Ozil's photo up with "their" president Erdogan both was a major distraction to the team and divided it, and showed how big of a farce "multiculturalism" is. These two guys are "supposed" to be German, yet they don't consider themselves German whatsoever, and are only playing for Germany because Turkey's team is absolute garbage.
I did like how Neuer played after missing much of his club season with injury, and I thought Kimmich, Hummels, Sule, and Rudy all played good too. In attack, Werner and Reus were probably the best of a below-average bunch. Kroos had a good 2nd half against Sweden and played good vs. Korea.
Germany's five minority players were awful this tournament, some of the worst players on an underperforming team. Even the German media and fans have begun criticizing them. Loew stubbornly clung to starting Ozil and Khedira, which helped cost them two games. Khedira looked like a corpse out on the pitch, and was completely ineffective in the match time he received, being subbed off early in both of them. He's done. Boateng wasn't bad in defense, but my goodness, why on earth was he pushing up into the attack all the time and throwing balls into the box? When you have a World Class attack as Germany was supposed to, Boateng should be the last person rambling up field. Ozil was awful in his first match, but better his third. Gundogan was invisible during his game-time. Given Ozil and Gundogan obviously don't even consider themselves German, they should not have even been selected. I'd love to think at least Ozil is done, but he probably won't be. The German media has been grilling Ozil, and a lot of ex-German national team players have been criticizing him. It's about time. They'd be better without Khedira and Ozil, so I'm glad their time with Germany may be done.

Unfortunately i think the German media will blame Low for not including the mixed Leroy Sane in the squad as one of the reasons Germany have been knocked out at the group stage...This is the the first time since the 1950's that Germany has failed to reach the knockout stage

Thanks for the compliments,Shadowlight.I think you are right that Brazil has a real good chance of winning the cup as things stand,but there's a long road on the way,so let's reserve our judgement.Also the team is too dependent on Coutinho and Neymar now.
I think you are right that Denmark are really strong in their own right and Eriksen is really a World class midfielder,so Croatia have a fight on their hands.Its sad that only one of these white teams will progress.
Regarding England,I think that Kane being the most lethal striker on the planet now puts them in a very good position,and despite my dislike for this coal black team,I think they will go deep into the tournament.

I think this is the biggest problem honestly,losing 3 players like these all at once was a huge blow.
He looked really burnt out,reminds me of Jack Wilshere.
Hit the nail on the head.This caused unnecessary controversy and not only sowed discord among the team,but also the fans and presumably the management too.
I fear this too.Look at France,England.I dread Germany may slowly be going that way.
I want to thank you for your insightful posts and pay homage to the player in your avatar,Miroslav Klose.Now that he's gone,we can clearly see just how important he was to the team,and now its apparent that he is one of the best World Cup players of all time.
International football is a completely different ball game,where a lack of team cohesion is a given,where teams cannot be moulded in a certain way due to the limited talent pool,where the pressure is enormous especially if the nation has a rich footballing history and the 7 do-or-die games over a month format must be a daunting,mentally exhausting exercise for all but the best.Then there's the fact that most players get 3 chances on average to play in this tournament,4 if they're lucky and 5 if they have a long career after having bloomed early as a footballer.
This is why the World Cup is the biggest stage in football,and not simply because even non-footballing fans all come to watch the tournament in the billions.
And its clear that Klose was among the greatest strikers,players to have ever played the game.He is the Top scorer of all time in the Fifa World Cup,and Germany never lost a game in which he scored.What a legend!
And this is why the much missed Frederic would go on and on waxing lyrical Diego Forlan,who was the best player in the 2010 World Cup,for having scored 5 goals and proved he too was among the best to have played the game in the modern era.
