I didn't see any of the first round of the "fifth major" and don't know how much I'll get to see of the next three rounds but see that the leader board is jammed at the top. Six players at -6 including Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar, another six at -5 including 51-year-old Steve Stricker, and then 14 players at -4 including Justin Rose, Bubba Watson, Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson. This tournament usually provides lots of fireworks and the galleries are always large and very enthusiastic.

Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler were the featured threesome for the first two rounds but did little today, with Woods finishing even par 72, Fowler 2 over and Mickelson 7 over.

I never seen Phi play worst . He even was heckled from the crowd about his shirt, which I thought was pretty low class on their part. Nobody on tour gives as much of their time at an event as Phi Mickelson signing autographs and giving balls to kids. Tiger can throw clubs and curse loud enough you can hear him in the next fairway, yet he is drooled over like he is a God.

Phil was awful this week. His driver (of course) and his game around the greens (uncharacteristically) struggled this week, and rarely gave him chances to use his putter and convert birdies. Mickelson is going to need to get his driver back if he's going to have any shot at winning again. And that is pretty low from the crowd; if their idol Tiger wore that same shirt, I'm sure there wouldn't be a peep from the DWFs.

Phil missed the cut along with McIlroy and Fowler. Spieth barely made it, but shot -7 today to get back into it. Although you wouldn't know Spieth did anything since media idol Woods did the same thing, which was 99% of the DWF chatter today.

Webb Simpson has been destroyed the field thus far. Through 17 holes of the 3rd Round, Simpson sits at -19, 7 shots ahead of 2nd place Danny Lee, and 11 shots better than Woods.
