Doesn't look as good as the original. There was something irreplaceable about Bronson calmly blowing away degenerate looking POCs, hippies, druggies and f@ggots. Notice in the remake that the punks who kill Kersey's wife are White. Lol, in ChiCongo none the less. The original was way less PC.
I felt the same way after watching it. Plus, they use mostly models for actors (and actresses) now. Everything is way too polished and literal for the diminished wit of the modern-day movie-goer.

This scene from the 1983 "Sudden Impact" Dirty Harry movie was really the last time you'd really see a genuine scene like this. Eastwood and the studio took a lot of heat for it. PC really started taking off about then with this and the whole Jimmy "The Greek" situation about the same time. The "bad guys" in the next Dirty Harry film would all be White.

They were White in the original too, or maybe two of the three were, can't recall exactly. A young (((Jeff Goldblum))) played one of them.

The 1974 Death Wish was getting some play on cable not too long ago. I watched most of it and was going to write my observations of it from a racial perspective but didn't get around to it. It caused quite a stir when it came out but was carefully cast to make the bad guys and the neighborhoods they ran an absurd integrated mix of black, hispanic and White and so wasn't condemned as overtly racist but rather for its seeming approval of vigilantism.

Good to see Hollywood's weak box-office take this weekend. I'm hoping it's a sign of a silent boycott.

Sony's The Dark Tower topped the softest weekend at the domestic box office since early April, opening with less than $20 million. Among other new releases, Aviron's Kidnap had a modest showing, squeaking above $10 million, while Annapurna's Detroit was unable to take off in its nationwide expansion. Overall, with the top twelve films grossing $111.5 million makes this the lowest grossing weekend of the summer season and sixth lowest of the year as the 2017 summer movie season is currently down ~10% compared to 2016. At #1, Sony's release of The Dark Tower, a long-awaited adaptation of the Stephen King sci-fi/fantasy series, delivered an estimated $19.5 million from 3,451 locations. It's a disappointing debut for the $60 million production, which is expected to kick-off a multi-platform franchise with co-financier Mrc currently developing a television series. That being said, this is the second largest opening weekend ever for a King adaptation, behind the $20.6 million debut for 2007's 1408, which went...

"The Dark Tower" starred black actor Idris Elba as the protaganist lead and the documentary/movie "Detroit" depicted (White) police "brutality" during the 1968 riots. Both were rejected by the public.

"Kidnap" stars another black, Halle Berry (and from the trailer, has an utterly ridiculous plot). America is going through some major white guilt fatigue.

Forgot to mention that charlatan Al Gore's new documentary debuted this weekend and came in at 15th place. I don't even know the name of it, nor do I care. I thought most of us were supposed to be under water by now anyway from his previous documentary.

'Blade Runner 2049' underwhelms at box office.

I heard reports on Friday that said they were expecting a $49 million opening weekend, but the actual take was just $31.5 million. So, I'm guessing what I heard or read must've been fake news. Anyway, the movie cost $150 million to make, so it will take them some time to recoup that cost. Great news. To hell with Hollywood and it seems like others feel the same way as well.

I liked the first 'Blade Runner' from 1982 which was directed by Ridley Scott. I remember watching it at the drive-in theater, which was starting to wane at that time and would be pretty much defunct in a few more years. This was really the end of the era for the more classical-type Sci-fi movies/films.

Interesting back then it was intimated that the Japanese would be the future majority population and dominate societies...or, at least, Los Angeles, but that never happened as the elites took care of that shortly thereafter and basically turned most of them into basket cases through various means.

I also noticed that the movie "The Mountain Between" us, a miscegenation propaganda piece (black male/White female (of course)) pretty much b0mbed as well, taking in only $10.1 million.

I watched Gods of Egypt a few days ago.

"The acquisition of gold is not the way into Heaven?? Most anti-semitic movie ever!!"

I also like that all the gods (save the gay idiot who failed the Riddle of the Sphinx, only to be saved by the white kid) were white Europeans, which, as we learned earlier this year was much closer to the actual ethnic makeup of ancient Egypt. In fact, the Subbie Africans were greatly over-represented in the film.
It may have been kooky, but it fits in pretty well with the old Mythology Features that Hollywood used to make.

Anti-White, anti-Trump movie, Suburbicon, starring George Clooney and Matt Damon, tanks with opening of just $3 Million. Military-themed movie Thank You for Your Service featuring anti-White radical feminist (((Amy Schumer))) hauled in only $4 Million, as Hollywood continues to crash and burn.

I know those are tank figures in terms of successful movies, but it's a shame that garbage gets even near that. However, it's good to hear that the agenda-driven machine slows down sometimes.

I recently watched The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
It's been six years since Highlander mentioned it in this thread.
I agree about Casey Affleck. It was an award-worthy performance.
The film is also very good, although too leisurely. A wise editor would have trimmed a second or two out of every scene in the movie.

They've been making movies for a hundred years. Even if they never made another movie you'd have enough movies to watch for the rest of your life.

People should turn to the old movies rather than watch the anti-White hate propaganda that passes for movies today.

I mostly agree with that. There are a few that aren't, but you really have to do your homework.

Goodbye Christopher Robinson just came out, but is really being limited in number of theaters shown. That one may be view-worthy.

Remember "Shot Caller" that I wrote about several weeks ago? That never saw the light of day...or was pulled quickly...but not because of ticket sales...it never got a chance. Remember that film about the Holomodor in the Ukraine that I mentioned earlier this year? It never saw the light of day, either. Coincidence?

Good news! The article never states the main reason fewer people are going to theaters -- they're sick of the degenerate, globo-homo propaganda pushed by the communists of Hollywood -- but a brief look at the comments after shows that readers understand the reasons for the decline.

Even with 'Star Wars' surge, moviegoing could hit 22-year low. Blame bad sequels, rising ticket prices and streaming

And I hear the new 'Star Wars' movie is utter SJW trash. YouTube videos abound about how awful it is.

Almost all of the Admirals and Generals of the SJW "Rebel Alliance" are female and one even has the typical radical feminist "RESIST" dark pink or purple hair color (I kid you not). All of the men were either emasculated or killed. I hear they killed off Luke in a completely (and intentionally) dishonorable way. All of the men of the Empire are straight White men with "fasci" haircuts (whatever that is).

Radical feminist filmmaker, Kathleen Kennedy, was put in charge of the new trilogy by Disney and she's on record stating that she hated the orginal trilogy, so she set out to destroy it, intentionally. These people are pure evil. It's amazing that so many, especially White males (I say "males", because many of them are under 18), continue to go to them, thinking that Lucy will somehow actually hold the ball this time instead of pulling it away at the last second and letting Charlie Brown whiff, fly into the air and land hard on the ground. Maybe this latest assault on their psyche and character will finally wake their asses up so they will have absolutely no desire to go to the next Star Wars movie and it will tank like all of the other swill or pablum being released by the major studios these days.

There are a lot of good takes on it on YouTube, but this random bloke has the best take on it:

There was also a comment by someone on one of these videos who said that all of the six movie previews before this movie started featured an alpha female princess warrior lead and males were just background characters or subservient to her. Total NWO agenda.

Oh, and one more point, Rotten Tomatoes had it at 93% whereas the audience had it at 55%, meaning they viewed it as "rotten". Quite a gap between the NWO media elite and the masses.

I was a huge Star Wars fan as a kid - loved the original trilogy. Once I heard they were casting a black and female as the lead for the most recent reboot I lost any interest in these new versions. The obvious anti-white male agenda is apparent for anyone to see who does not have their head up their ass.

The difference between the original Star Wars and the new movies is the same as the difference between a genuine Rolex and a fake Rolex. In both cases the latter is utterly worthless, but promotes itself with its famous name. "Come on, it's gotta be good! It's Star Wars!" "But it SAYS Rolex on it!"

The militant, in-your-face SJW politics of the new Star Wars films will please only the tiny but hyper-powerful minority that are already SJWs, and will turn normies, including Democrats, off. No one likes self-righteous, holier-than-thou garbage being crammed down their throats. Their anti-white propaganda will backfire on them big time. In Rogue One, the "hero" Rebel attack on the Imperial forces on the Muslim-themed world was so similar to insurgent attacks on American convoys in Iraq and Afghanistan that a lot of veterans who watched that scene probably had flashbacks. One reviewer even said that he half expected the Rebels to shout "ALLAHU ACKBAR!" The intent, of course, was to portray brown Muslims as heroes and White soldiers as villains...but when veterans, most of whom are neo-cons or Reagan Democrats, see that scene, they'll realize just how much the elite hates them and wants to vilify them...and perhaps that will be the motivation some of them need to convert to the Alt-Right.

The feminist warrior princess, Rey, is such a Mary Sue that the only way her character could have been given any depth whatsoever would be for her to turn to the Dark Side. Spoiler: It doesn't happen (not in this movie, anyway). The intent with her, of course, was to get girls and young women to identify with her and be motivated to become Corporate Career Womyn or whatever the 21st century Earth equivalent of a Jedi warrior princess is. That, too, will backfire because normal people simply can't identify with Mary Sues. Regular people have flaws and failings and learning curves and other normie stuff. The typical young woman will look at Rey and see either a cartoon character on a different plane of existence who cannot be identified with in any way, or simply become jealous of her. Makes me look fondly at the Resident Evil movies. None of the women who blasted zombies ever felt the need to make a feminist speech. I could identify with Alice and Jill.

Even the original Star Wars trilogy had scenes where the audience didn't react as their masters expected them to. In Return of the Jedi, when that one Ewok got blasted by the AT-ST and his friend shook him but he didn't get up, I heard that the theater actually cheered. And it's only gotten worse (or better). In Rogue One, a lot of people loved the ending scene where Darth Vader greases the Rebels on the spaceship. I know I did. It was quite literally like watching a hero fight back against a genocidal SJW army. My favorite was the guy who was pounding on the jammed door, screaming, "Help us!" with a terrified expression on his face, before getting lightsabered in the back.

Oh, and the noble black stormtrooper who switched sides and joined the Rebels because his black skin made him morally good (they actually want us to believe that) only makes people think of the black guy from Spaceballs who says, "We ain't found s**t!"

Yes, we did ;).

Return of the Jedi
was made in 1983, which is what I perceive as the cultural Rubicon for America, and Return of the Jedi really encapsulated that from a movie perspective. Half of the movie was the best that Star Wars, or films in general, had to offer - the scenes where Luke, Vader, and the Emperor were on the Death Star up until the final battle between them and Vader's redemptive death. That was as old-school classical Shakespearean Hollywood as you could get...compared to the Ewok planet scenes and the awkward scenes with poor acting of the Rebel Alliance getting ready to blow up the Death Star (again)...which was the new direction Star Wars and Hollywood was going into (see silly sh*t like Gremlins and The Goonies which would be in the theaters shortly thereafter). I remember being split on whether liking it or not when leaving the theater. I ultimately did, but only for those scenes I mentioned...and perhaps Princess Leia in a bikini in the opening scene ;).

The Empire Strikes Back from 1980 was my favorite. Many people in these YouTube vids are clamoring for George Lucas again, but fail to remember that
Irvin Kershner directed that one, not Lucas.

I did see that scene from Rogue One that you mentioned on YouTube and it was very good. I have not and will not watch any of the three new ones, though. I did also hear that they kind of implied that Princess Leia was in a lesbian relationship with Laura Dern's character in this new one. Geesh.

I think the movie, 15:17 To Paris is a good movie. There were three heroes, 2 White and 1 black. But the 1 White guy was the main hero. He was the one who made the initial move to save the people on the train.

Yes, I watched that one last week and did some reading about Spencer Stone. He's a very brave man.
