There was a fair amount of coverage of the case on the Talking Head shows tonight. Of interest is the fact that several commentators identified dog fighting as being very popular in urban areas. I saw a clip of a sign that said, "Cruelty isn't cool," which is said to be intended for "inner-city youth."

....Also, as a Georgia boy & life-long Falcons fan I must say...if/when Vick is found guilty and the Falcons don't cut his @$$ from the roster, then I'm officially done watching them. I bet'cha dollars to donuts Vick won't do any jail time, but Arthur Blank will prove a hypocrite if he doesn't boot "SupaVick" off the Falcons (if/when Vick gets the guilty verdict).

P.S. - Due to the caste system, I was already done buying NFL (NBA, MLB, etc.) merchandise & game tickets...this might be the final straw for even watching the NFL anymore. Edited by: DixieDestroyer

Way to go, we need football fans that hate the NFL. The more critical of the NFL the American people can become, the more harm the NFL will be dealt. Their players are scum, their staffs are diseased, and their owners are degenerate.
Vick, as it turned out, was simply a faster than average guy that was placed under center. He was hyped as the greatest player that ever lived before he took a real snap!
Many people of all races can be made to be very fast, NFL fast if they have the right training today. All Vick is, is a science experiment with a sense of entitlement.

Strange the whole thing. I am not one of those touchy feely animal lover types but man we are talking sadistic stuff--perhaps a couple of strides away from serial killer territory.
The media made it a point--lets count the # of SI covers for starters shall we--to place this guy on a pedestal and make him out to be the poster child of the black/speed/excitement/superiority philosophy.
Somewhere Joe Theisman is crying. We will have to wait for a final verdict but at the moment this one smells bad for Captain Vick. His younger bro is a role model too.

Thanks for the correction, Don.

There is outrage on capital hill too. Think of the concept of corrupt democratic politicians who can get an easy vote on the moral high ground here.

They can use him to start a new campaign against animal cruelty. Everybody loves animals!

Even if he is acquitted, the fans will have at him in thier own ways. It ought to be entertaining either way.

Well I am already tired of hearing the phrase "innocent until proven guilty" from the Stephen Smith types and all the white sportswriting Vick nuthuggers out there. He's innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, not in the court of public opinion. There is apparantly a very substantial black underground subculture that gets involved in dog fightings and dog executions for the loser. Rapper Jayzee and DMX have videos out that allude to dogfighting and some kind of weird social status that it gives you in the black community. Scary stuff.

As was previously stated, I doubt he'll go to jail for this; however, I have equal doubt in him playing for the Falcons or the NFL after the trial (and media frenzy). They will most likely cut him in the near future; probably either before this season starts, or before next season begins. Either way, this whole situation might finally teach these cowards to grow up and become a productive member of society. I mean, my god, have you ever seen a rap video? Watched BET for more than 10 minutes? Went to college or high school with black people? I mean, sure, the chicks are hotties, but the men (and I use that term loosely) are only interested in buying new shoes / clothes / jewelry / rims / cars / gold teeth / crappy, meaningless music to continue their phony, flashy, selfish lifestyle.

For some reason american black culture contains the most superficial, fake, self-pleasing, self-centered, living-for-the-moment kind of thinking that has ever existed. Michael Vick has been involved in this culture his entire life...why should be expect any less from him? Hurting and killing hundreds of dogs means nothing...if you can make some more money (to buy more sh*t that no human will ever need)....

This will be another interesting test case for the injustice system and the cultural madness that prevails in Don King's America. On the one hand, our society has indoctrinated a few generations of mostly white young girls into an excessive love of animals. I have personally met many women from my age group (and younger) who have never had children, and have clearly transferrred their natural maternal instincts onto their dogs and cats. It's fine to love animals, and no rational person wants to see them abused in any way, but these women are far more concerned with "animal rights" than they are about basic human rights for everyone. On the other hand, these same females, just like feminists in general, have been strongly conditioned to only feel animosity towards white males. So, here we have the most overhyped black athlete ever, charged with acts of cruelty towards animals that perhaps even most of these female animal lovers could never have imagined. What do they do? Which part of their conditioning do they follow? Since I believe race trumps everything else in Don King's America, I predict that these animal rights groups will remain as silent as the feminist groups were during the O.J. nonsense. I also predict that our thoroughly corrupt injustice system will see to it, through some kind of combination of irrational black jurors, timid and incompetent prosecutors, a typically corrupt judge and the usual biased "reporting" from the jock-sniffing media, that Vick will receive the lightest sentence possible, if he isn't completely exonerated.

That is surprising, given how feminazis studiouslyignore the despicable epidemic of black affletes beating their wives and girlfriends.

Poacher, the left is about power that should be no suprise. We should make a mantra of the double standards when the lefties come to moralize.

PETA will roast (ha) Vick alive. I caught part of an interview with a PETA person and some sports guy on the radio and they are cutting him no slack. Oddly enough I found myself defending Vick occasionally when the PETA babe went off saying that all people who mistreat animals end up doing the same to people and that anyone that would kill an animal would also do the same to a person (meat house workers? butchers?).

PETA is not going to let this slide ala the feminists giving black men a break on their treatment of women because there is a big difference between the groups even though both are the end result of cultural marxist thinking.

Feminists first and foremost hate white men. That's the agenda. They instinctively side with blacks on any issue just to be anti-white. Women, especially white women who get abused, get little sympathy from them because feminists hate men so much that they feel women who choose to be with men are traitors to the cause and thus deserve what happens when a woman is foolish enough to be with a man (or at least "that" kind of man).

PETA on the other hand hates everyone, they hate people. They don't side with blacks, women or anyone because their agenda is anti-human. The PETA people don't even particularly like immigrants or any other liberal that veers from the animal first agenda.

While both PETA and feminism come from the same anti-white, anti-male, anti-American ideology, that is cultural marxism, the PETA people are on the cutting edge of the movement which at it's core is anti-existance.

The end result of both those philosophies, and all of cultural marxism in fact, is death. Their goal is non-existance. They don't realize it of course and would deny it, but the end result of a world where woman don't want to "mate" with men and animal lovers that would prefer that people die over animals is rather self obvious. Sad that we live in a time when so many people refuse or are incapable of seeing the obvious truth.

Since our society is hell bent on persuing non-survival ethics with a vengenance (gay rights, abortion, non-reproductive sex) PETA will get plenty of play and I can see Vick as a huge target that they would love to hunt down and kill.

Not that I side with Vick, although it WAS his property and the dogs were also his property. But there is no such thing as private property in our life any more so that is no longer a defense.

It just gets "worser and worser" when it comes to the despicable low-IQ, criminally-prone creature who the NFL for six years held out to the world as its poster boy:

Michael Vick's "Rape Stand"

A federal grand jury indicted Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick on Tuesday, charging him with taking part in a dogfighting operation. When police raided his rural property in Virginia in April, they discovered dozens of pit bull terriers. They also found a "rape stand," a pry bar, treadmills, and a fight pit, all of which authorities said pointed to the illicit sport. What is this equipment?

Legitimate dog training tools for the most part, but ones that come in handy for turning pit bulls into vicious fighters. Pooches die so often in fights that owners always need new dogs. This is where the rape stand, also called a breeding stand, comes in. It consists of two steel poles mounted to the ends of a platform that's often made of wood. U-shaped pieces of curved metal sit atop each pole; one goes around the belly of a female pit bull and the other around her neck. The stand isn't illegal, but dog breeders don't normally use it; after all, female dogs in heat aren't so particular. And most people wouldn't want to breed poorly socialized dogs that must be strapped down to mate. But breeders of attack dogs place special value on females that are so mean they might bite any male dogs that get too close. People find these stands online or through an underground dogfighting magazine, or they make their own.

Authorities also discovered performance-enhancing drugs on the property, and one news report suggested Vick regularly purchased syringes. Dogfighters might inject their dogs with stimulants before a fight. Afterward, they might give antibiotics to prevent infection, or a steroid like dexamethasone to reduce pain and swelling and help rebuild torn muscles. Legitimate breeders and kennel owners might also have syringes, for administering vaccines or medicine.

Some of Vick's other equipment wasn't so unusual. A pry bar, also called a break stick, is a plastic or wooden stick used to break up a fight when dogs won't stop biting each other. The tool looks like a hammer handle with a flat edge and can be inserted into the mouth behind the molars to pry open the jaw. Anyone who works with dogs for a living would probably own the tool, and it's especially recommended for pit bull owners, since the breed is extremely strong-willed. Treadmills, also found on Vick's property, are commonly used to exercise sled dogs like Siberian Huskies or dogs preparing for weight pull competitions. To build a pit bull's strength, a dogfighter might make the animal wear a weighted collar while walking up an incline on the treadmill.

Vick also kept a dogfight pit on his property. Dogfighters commonly abide by what are called Cajun rules for how big these pits can beâ€â€￾about 12 feet per square side, with plywood walls 2 feet 6 inches high. They often lay down carpeting to give the pit bulls more traction, which might explain the bloodied carpet lying around Vick's house.

I have already told the NFL that if Vick plays, I am boycotting them.

(I cannot believe I am on the same side as PETA. What are strange world we live in!)

Initially, I didn't feel that too much would happen to Vick....maybe probation and a large fine. I thought, you know, since he is the NFL's version of Christ almighty, that he'd maybe miss next season (after being convicted next summer and paying a fine). To me, it appears as though Vick will definitely be suspended for the coming season. The Falcons image has been so incredibly tarnished by these allegations (which I'm sure will all be proven true) that it seems they have no other choice.

Think about it, even if Vick is suspended this season and cut from the Falcons (assuming he doesn't go to jail), what team would possibly take the awful publicity that would come by signing this jerk-off? I'll admit, Mike Vick did do some amazing things on the field in college and on a highlight reel (a couple great plays) in the NFL. However, as of last season, it seemed to me that he was on his way out in Atlanta (even after the contract). From flipping off the fans, multiple games where his passing was just awful, not making the playoffs again, and past incidents such as admitting to giving some woman herpes. Wisely, the Falcons let Matt Shaub go to Houston, haha.

In all honesty, if you ever watched this guy play, it wasn't all that exciting. He was nothing more than a QB who didn't want to get hit, so he decided to scramble...a lot. Also, if you watched his personal demeanor, you could just tell that he truely believed his own hype. I doubt he'll play another down as an NFL QB, how sad, haha, thank you, there is a God...

The problem with Vick going down due to legal troubles instead of his play on the field is that we are going to be subject to a long list of what if's and if only's about what might have happened if the greatest player to ever lace on a pair of cleats had just stayed out of trouble. Who knows how many Super Bowls he would have won, if only.. who knows how many records he might have broke, if only..

Still, it's better than having to watch highlights of him scoring a touchdown when the Falcons are losing games 30-17 because of Vick's inerrant passing and fumbling at key moments in the game.

I just hope he actually gets jail time.

Last week, I watched ESPN Sportcenter for the first time in a long while. Len Pasquarelli was on and said something like this; "I've been living in Atlanta the last few years and Michael Vick is a very polarizing figure, and its along racial lines."

The next day, I saw Tim Green on a talking head show and Green said the same thing. It appears that many white Falcon fans don't think Vick is that good a QB. I suspect that they would prefer to have someone like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady playing QB for the Falcons.

Vick does have one similarity to O.J. Simpson in that he draws an enormous salary because he can sell products for corporate advertisers. Simpson was the first of this type. He doesn't win championships but makes a lot of money from commercials.

Vick differs from O.J. in that he's not very good at his position, though he makes for some spectacular highlight films. Simpson was a great running back, at least.
