Confirmed: Geale is a glorified clubfighter

Well that was no contest from the first punch. I respect the way Cotto entered the ring without all the showbiz baloney. I wasn't interested in this one, but it was there, and the stream was good.

Cotto seems like a decent chap. He really got jobbed when he took that beating from the Mexican with the loaded gloves. Fighter's careers have been ended from that sort of cheating (see Billy Collins). It's good to see him come back from that and have some success.

Him and Alvarez should be a great fight.

Cotto is a commendable boxer. Always gives a great effort and he has some serious skills that go way back to his amateur days. But he was never the same guy after he was stopped by Margarito, if I recall correctly that was in 2007 or 2008.

Daniel Geale looks White but he has claimed that he is not on numerous occasions. He apparently has some distant Aboriginal heritage (debatable if that's even true) but seems to identify as being Aboriginal even though he looks 100% white. He's almost like an Australian wigger or something! For that reason I generally root against him. GGG did a job on him and Cotto took him out as well. It seems Geale ' s days as a contender are over.

Alvarez will make Cotto wish he were back in the ring with Magarito (loaded gloves and all).

Danial Geale is no litmus test for whether or not Cotto can handle Alvazer.

Geale throws powder-puff arm punches that any upper level fighter in the division can walk right through, as Cotto demonstrated.

At this stage in both their careers, Alvarez looks to be the fresher, and bigger fighter with more power than Cotto.

Yeah, Cotto does appear to be a family guy, with a decent demeanor, and not flashy. I almost like him...almost.

I was in Manhattan over the wkn and caught the fight at Barclays Center. Cotton looked like a monster against Geale. The showcase/statement fight played out. Yes, Geale is no yardstick of Cotto. But Cotto has had a great career. Canelo is too young, fast and strong for Cotto to handle. I see Canelo with TKO in the 8th rd.

The crowd was well behaved due to the buco cops inside and outside of the area. Right now stuck in PHX, my flt to CA was cancelled. Had to sleep over night.

Cotto is one of the very few non-white fighters I respect and am actually a fan of. The guy hardly talks trash and is overall very soft-spoken unlike countless dindu fighters like Broner and Gayweather.

That being said, I believe Canelo would just be too much for him at this point of his career. I think Cotto, before his first loss to that Mexican cheater, would have won against the Canelo of right now by a close decision. But now, Cotto will get pressured and stopped in the late rounds.

Good evaluation. I believe Margarito took a part of Cotto he can never get back. Boxing is taxing enough on fighters over-time, but Cotto's time clock was accelerated so to speak.

I believe Luis Resto did the same thing to Billy Collins many years ago.

What was your impression of Barclay's Center? It wasn't there when I left NYC. How about Phoenix in the summertime? I agree with you about Canelo- Cotto.

Barclay's was impressive. Brand new venue, large seats and ample leg room. I saw a mixed crowd. There were numerous bars outside that catered to a white crowd. Took the subway from Manhattan to the center. The subway drops you off right in front of the arena. Like I said, there were a lot of cops posted outside of the arena and inside. Pretty sure if any drunk negro or hispanic of some sort started something they would have jumped on by the cops. As far as Phoenix, I was stuck there for a day. My fit on Sunday was cancelled at 1030 pm and the rebooked on Monday for 230 pm flt back to Burbank Ca. The temperature was 105 degrees there. I saw a "Whataburger" outside of my hotel room. I had to get one. To me they rate with "In and Out Burger" and "Smash Burger".

I am in process of writing a nasty letter to US Airways to recoup my plane tix cost. We'll see how it goes.
