I need your opinion of this. I want to make a movie about MLK. For this movie to be a success I need a big name actor who can bring in an audience Here are the choices:
1) Brad Pitt
2) Tom Cruise
3) Russel Crowe
4) Harrison Ford
5) The Vampire guy from Twilight
6) The werewolf guy from Twilight.
Who do you think we should cast?

I think a role of this gravity, would require the personal experience & insight of an actual high-profile Black leader.
my casting call would look like,.. Marion Barry, Kwame Kilpatrick, Al Jolson, Katt Williams, Al Sharpton & Rahm Emanuel. serious bid'ness right here..

Sean Penn, he's a drunk, an adulterer, a wife beater, a commie, and loves him some negroes.

How about Robert Downey Jr. he's already played a black man in a major motion picture.

What of Bill Maher? He's naturally sanctimonious, self-important & has a taste for the groidesses.

There again, you might want to consider one who's grossly overrated & overhyped. Will Smiff and Lamie C0xx fit that requirement, but we want to keep the casting diverse & progressive. Perhaps Jonah Hill might be the optimal candidate for the once in a lifetime role?

Then again, Jaxvid's suggestion of Sean Penn seems to be perfect...sanctimonious, overrated with the natural inclination towards arrogance, philandery & communism!

How about Harry Belafonte. Big time racist who thinks white people still owe blacks more than we've already given them. He also made a statement about how any white who didn't vote for Obama is a racist. Sounds like a perfect candidate to play MLK to me.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, just to hear him give the "I Have a Dream" speech in his Arnold accent.

:clap2:.. good call, best casting yet.
you get Schwarzenegger as King.. cast Stallone in a cameo as Malcolm X. You got 'Expendables 3'..

Sean Penn might want be a good choice for MLK. I was originally cast Penn as Macolm X. I had planned to have MLK and Malcom X fight with light sabres in front of the Lincoln memorial.
I also think Gynith Paltrow would be good as Loretta king.

I would like to have Daniel Craig portray MLK, but his commitment to the James Bond series may prevent this.

You guys are providing me with lots of good ideas for this movie.

I took a huge dump today that was a striking resemblance to MLK. Perhaps you could do a claymation of MLK with it? Just find some crackhead for the voice over.

Coincidentally, I unloaded a particularly meaty porcelain buster this morning, complete with a couple of large, undigested beans - a truly imposing hunk of excrement which bore an uncanny resemblance to Jesse "Breadbasket" Jackson...

Taking a more practical approach, if You wish to obtain funding it's best to adhere to the Hollywood custom of casting a Jew in the lead role. Now, we require a Yid who possesses the "gravitas" to give such a "serious" character due justice. Hmmmm, let's see... I know! How about Jack Black? Looks and physique in a single pot-bellied package!

Sure, Black's hairy hide lacks the melanin levels to live up to his name but that's nothing a bit of "makeup" can't fix - especially if the "makeup" is liberally applied with sturdy work boots and an old cricket bat. Fifteen minutes of good, solid "preparation" and fatso will attain a bluish black hue which shall last for the duration of filming...

Mind You, You could even emply a genuine Negro: I'm confident that Koko B Ware would appreciate any work You could sling his way:

If negotiations with B Ware were to break down, perhaps that fine black thespian Ade is available for hire:

I suspect, however, that the expenses associated with feeding the fat prick (in addition to installing a reinforced steel toilet on set) may blow the majority of Your budget...

I was thinking of casting Spike Lee as LBJ. It is a small role, anyway. Jack Black is an interesting choice. I will have to see what his box office record is. I want someone who will bring in the viewers.

Cast that bug-eyed, completely unfunny Negro from the Jackie Chan movies as young Jesse Jackson, with smeared ketchup on his shirt, doing TV interviews with "Doc's blood" on him.

Susan Sarandon and Janine Garafalo could be cast as fugly white prostitutes King purchased with SCLC funds.

In that case, try Robin Williams or Jim Carrey... :icon_wink:

Come to think of it, Carrey definitely has the ability to portray everyone's favourite Negro "civil rights icon" and all-round national - nay! - global "treasure":

More news about this project.
James earl Jones agreed to play Bull Connor. He says he has the voice for this role. I wanted Spongebob squarepants as J. Edgar Hoover, but he is in rehap now. He may not get in time.
Paris Hilton called. She wants the Loretta King role. She says that daddy will help finance this project. Here is the problem. Palthow is an accomplishes actress who would put on an oscar winning performance. Hilton, needs more experience. However with the extra money I can afford more and better special effects. Should I compromise my values for extra funding?
One of the Kadasians left a message. I cannot tell which one. They all look alike to me.I wonder if they are interested in this movie?

I am taking a break from this. I will spend MLK day watching Birth of a nation over and over again. I (heart) Lillian Gish.

I don't think it is right to have Martin Luther King played in blackface. Physical likeness has to be a major criteria in the casting. I am picking Beetle Juice of Howard Stern fame.
