Tennessee vs Pittsburgh will be on in just under 2 hours so I figured it was time to start this thread. This will be one of the least interesting games of the season, unless of course you find all around incompetence entertaining.

The game will be sucky but this article made NFL.com front page to my surprise, about time they give fair criticism to Sanchez and call him out.

Don't get me wrong I like Tebow, but amidst all this Tebow or Sanchez talk people have forgotten that the Jets have an extremely intelligent third string QB named Greg McElroy. I'd take McElroy over Tebow or Sanchez any day of the week.

McElroy is a good QB - he has the same talent as Mark Sanchez but would probably make better decisions.

Tebow if given the chance to run an extended playbook rather than the dumbed down offense they ran in Denver could be an effective passer. Tebow could fit what the Redskins are doing now much better than Griffin. All it takes is a coach that wants to invest in Tebow like the Panthers did with sCAM or the Redskins did with Griffin. Tebow would also open up the Jets pathetic running game much like he did with Denver last year. It's not really rocket science its more or less that people hate Tebow.

Also that afflete first round pick Kendall Wright just dropped a perfect pass for a TD.

One sumo lineman after another hobbling off the field for the Crawfords.

Nice to see Heath Miller become the third most prolific receiver in team history. He could have been an all-time great if he hadn't had to block for so much of his career.

The game I'm looking forward to this weekend is Houston against Green Bay Sunday night. A relatively White friendly team on the rise vs. the team that won the Super Bowl two years ago with the Whitest roster in the league but was seemingly embarrassed about it and has since gone the other direction and is paying the price.

Denver vs. San Diego Monday night could be a good one also.

I am hoping New England goes in and destroys Seattle. Also, completely unrelated but should I start Luck or Brady? I am already starting Woodhead and Welker.

I have a good feeling about this Sunday, don't know why, just have a feeling that a bunch of black quarterbacks are going to get shown up.

Am I the only one excited the Stealers lost to the hapless Titans. At 2-3, is this the beginning of the end for the Afro-dynasty?

As an old guy who lives in the vicinity of the town with the supa-afflete-baseball hall of fame, I got the reference. I did a web search, anyway, just for fun, and was surprised to see all of the apparel available for DWFs who pine for the days of the "great" negro league teams. Here is one that I'm sure all CF posters will want to don:

I'm very excited about the continued woes of the Steelers. There are other teams just about as bad as the Steelers in terms of their disdain for white players, but the Steelers are usually one step extra anti-white than everyone else. Last season three AFC North teams, the Ravens, Steelers and Bengals all made the playoffs, and all are on the more anti-white side than most teams. Hopefully only one of them makes it this year, or at most two.

He's right. How dare I be unaware of an obscure Negro team
that was defunct 50 years before I was born. You got me.

Nope! No one is as wise as you oh mighty, sports historian! Please, post in the boxing forum again and "educate" us again. Remind us all what great fighters Joe Louis and Ali were.

One single thing I hope that happens Sunday. Hillis better get his ass on the playing field and become relevent again!!!!!

Looks like NE O-line and team over all is running on all cylinders. I really hope this weekend Woodhead can exploit it. Its going to be a challenge with those 2 other affeletic backs riding the wave of it.

I hope Rogers has a "get Jesus moment" and sees the connection with "WINNING" and making completions to Nelson. Enough of passing it to Finely the "drop alot" reciever.

Tough break for Cushing. Hope he recovers fully. JJ Watt, a God send for us. The best D-Lineman playing.

Just my 2 cents. The negro "leagues" are more or less just more propaganda. They were leagues if you really, really stretch the word. They never played the same number of games and never had the same teams in a so called league through the entire season. Their records are sketchy at best and there were times players changed teams between games of a double header. Sometimes they had to have a player from a town team fill in their team because one of their cars broke down on the way. Obviously, there were some player in the nl's who were excellent players, but the vast majority were sub-par, who would never have been considered big league material. For them the nl's were a godsend. Otherwise, they'd never had been able to play pro ball. Also, little known is that some of the better teams were White owned, such as the Atlantic City team and the Kansas City Monarchs (Jackie Robinson broke his contract with the Monarchs to sign with the Dodgers - not very much known). There is also the idea once the color bar was broken, the good players left the negro leagues enmasse to sign with the majors. The nl's limped on until the late 50's, early 60's and then died quietly. So you've got to weigh all these factors to get a real idea of the whole thing.

Westside, some bad news! Hillis is being ruled out for Sunday. Before the season started, I really believed he would get 1,000 yards rushing but that's not possible now unless he suddenly gets healthy and Charles is injured.

I think Hillis has a good shot of getting 1k from scrimmage, or hopefully close enough to keep him in consideration for touching the ball next year. I don't think Charles will hold up for the entire season with a heavy workload. Hillis will have 10 games after the bye to show what he capable of, they need to run him on more besides the inside zone, it makes the offense predictable when he is in. For all the yards Charles has, he hasn't helped the team win, with 2 rushing tds on 500+ yards, 3 fumbles, yet Hillis gets criticized for the one fumble on the goal line where he was trying to stretch out to make it. Draughn is hyped up because he got a large chunk of yards when the Chiefs were behind running against a prevent d. Even Chiefs fans are worried about the workload Charles has, they are saying he will wind up like Larry Johnson.

As for ,Woodhead, he looks to be screwed, its not about the o-line, its about the play calling. They don't seem to care about him getting yards running, they are merely running him to keep the passing game honest, its all draws up the middle, as long as he gets 2 to 3 yards they seem fine with it. If you go back and watch his 2010 season they ran a variety of plays, my favorite was a play that looked similar to the stretch play, they would be in shotgun and Woodhead would wind up with the direct snap and follows his blockers to the outside. Where are these plays at now? He truly is what what the fantasy site called him before the season a "passing back".

I see all of great running plays called for Ridley and even Bolden, on plays where Ridley gets 20 I could easily see Woodhead getting twice that. I am wondering what happened for putting players in the doghouse for fumbling, with 2 fumbles in the past 2 games.

His only hope is to make the most of his receptions, but he is often ignored often being wide open underneath even when the other receivers are covered. If Bellicheck really wanted to reduce the value of Welker, which is what is speculated why Edelman was used in the slot and Welker phased out the first game but then the injury to Edelman and Hernandez forced them to, but they still have Woodhead to run underneath stuff, and he filled in nicely in 2010 when Welker was recovering from his acl/mcl. However, Brady stated something like Welker being the heart and soul of the offense, so I respect him for targeting Welker as frequently as possible. However, with the absence of Kevin Faulk, there should be another outlet reciever used, as Welker has being doing better on deeper routes, the espn stats say he has caught a pass every single time he was targeted. Lloyd, not so much. With Hernandez gone they can use Woodhead to fill the void in the passing game. They did it in the first half of the Superbowl with Gronk not 100 percent, and he had 4 catches for over 40 yards, and they just stopped using him in the second half.

The ridiculous thing about Welker was the media highlighting the role of Percy Harvin the other day, talking about how he gets most of his yards after the catch and most of his catches are at the line of scrimmage, and that he is basically like a runningback, basically drooling over his versatility and play making ability etc. Welker has been doing this for years, and could have been taking handoffs as well.

Welker's consistency over the years has probably led to the increase of White receivers getting a chance. That is what we need from a White runningback, if Hillis would have posted back to back 1k seasons then things might be a little different. Now his best hope is to be in a Brandon Jacobs or Michael Bush type role, with the possibility for him to get one more 1k season. Michael Bush at the age of 28 almost had 1,000 rushing last year, heading into his 7th game he had 138 yards rushing, not much more than Hillis, had he averaged higher than 3.8 ypc he would have broken the 1k mark, he did have 1300 yards from scrimmage, mostly coming in the final 10 game stretch.

Hopefully we can catch a break with Gerhart, Peterson says his ankle is fine but I am not so sure about that. I think something similar happened last year which led to his knee injury, his body was out of balance.

Hopefullly one of our college guys gets a legit shot at the NFL. Don't know how they will twist the 40 time thing, 4 out of the top 10 rushers right now run 4.65 or slower, one with a 4.58 and another one with 4.5. So only 3 with sub 4.5 speed.

I'm now officially off the Hillis bandwagon. I think it's better that way than constantly hoping he'll deliver the goods, only to be disappointed. He's had that one outlier season in 2010, but otherwise, cannot seem to stay healthy. So, unlike Gerhart or Woodhead who don't have a history of getting injured, have shown what they can do when given the chance, and are being royally screwed by their current teams, Hillis can't even get on the field. And to be honest, in those rare moments when he's been healthy in 2011/2012, he wasn't looked anything like his 2010 self, or that brief set of games in 2008 when he first came onto the scene.

To be sure, I'm not bashing him, and wish he can just get healthy and start playing and have some success. Until then, I see no point in riding this horse purely on hope and optimism of what "could and should" happen. This is where I 100% agree with Bigunreal's past assessments regarding Hillis' situation.

For Week 6, I'm looking forward to 2 games. NE-SEA is a big caste match-up. Majority White NE offense vs coal black (and good) SEA defense. NE faced a similar team in BAL earlier and would've beaten them if not for their own pathetic defense. SEA plays well at home, so overall, I'm just hoping Brady, Gronk, Welker, Woodhead and co. have a strong showing tomorrow, and that Brady vastly outplays that midget on the other side.

The other is HOU-GB. I'm finding it harder and harder to root for GB any more, given what they have done to their roster. Also, with Jennings out, that means Nelson will probably continue to be ignored by Rodgers, while grandpa Driver, hands of stone James Jones, Cobb, and most overrated TE in the league Finley will get all the looks.

I'm hoping Watt has another beastly performance in front of a national audience for the 2nd time in a week.

foobar75, agreed on Green Bay, just imagine their defense without AJ Hawk or Clay, I mean, it would be horrendous. The Vikings have become my new favorite NFC north team.
