So Cal
CL should have run the 100M too. He needs to hit the weights and he needs to get a new coach. I don't know how to say it any differently, but I think those are the things he should have done already. He can still take care of the last two and improve his times as well.

Man, I am hoping for him to medal in the final. I hope it won't be "woulda , coulda or shoulda" regrets after these games.

I hear you, Westside. I hope this shows him that he needs to make some changes. If he will make those changes, he'll get better and won't be setting himself up for more disappointment between now and 2016.

Christophe has more upside than anyone else on the track today. HGH cant make Blake any bigger than he already is...even Ato Boldon is a Lemaitre fan and says he has the most upside. I hope he can pull it off tomorrow. A Bronze medal coming from lane 2 would be very encouraging. I think Bolt and Blake will go under 19.4

Blake (20.01) ran between 10.10 and 10.12 in the first one 100M!
Spearmon (20.02) ran between 10.31 and 10.33 in the first one 100M
Christophe (20.03) ran between 10.40 and 10,42 in the first one 100M (between 10.43 and 10.45 in heats)

Lemaitre doesn't need to feel like he represents the White race.

He might not feel that'away (which isn't surprising, but a shame none the less), but he certainly does represent our race. As for the PED laden Jamaicans, it'd be so sweet justice for their doping/juicing to be exposed. Too bad the cultmarx ma$ters protect them, in keep the hype + cash machines (like Bolt) rolling onwards.

Yeah, when they busted Ben Johnson, they learned there's a negative fall out for the Olympics and Track. Fortunately, they still had King Carl there to give the gold medal to and it wasn't that bad.

If they cracked Bolt, their flagship god would go down and the rest of the Jamaicans would immediately come under suspicion. It would be ugly, a real black mark.

BLAKE was very very impressive!
IN FINAL Blake will run sub 19.30

Why was Blake impressive if he beat the other two guys by .01 second each?

what makes you think Lemaitre will run a good bend in the final, when:

1/ he has lane 2
2/ he ran a bad bend in the semi (Lemaitre said so himself in an interview)
3/ he ran a bad bend in the heats (Lemaitre said so himself in an interview)
4/ he always runs a bad bend

Of course I hope I'm wrong. We are all rooting for him. We all hope he can take the bronze medal!
But honestly, it doesn't look good.....

lol. We'd better start plumping for a straight 200 meters. That'll take care of his start, drive phase and bend running.
But my fear is that he never looks ready to savour the moment. When he gets a placing he looks only relieved, rarely happy (certainly this year).
If he keeps disappointing himself and explaining where/that he went wrong publicly he's gonna be starting to sound like Shirvington soon and it'll be over.
I'm still hoping, but lane 2 in this company doesn't make me want to watch the race live.

The problem is if you bust Bolt you will also bust Blake as they are in the same track club and are training partners. It has a pretty bad domino effect. Basically it will be Balco all over again.

I repeat Bolt i my opinion is clean, he was world champion junior with 15 years and sub20 since 17.
I have doubts with Blake :dodgy:

The disadvantage is that Lemaitre usually has bad bend and if in adittion he has tight lane like number 2, harder because he has big stride, a little less that Bolt.
He had bad luck again, because he could to have lane 9 that is a lot of better that lane2 for him :embarassed:

When is the 200m final? Why is lane 2 so bad? How big of a disadvantage is it for Christophe?

It's "game over" for Lemaitre. I think the fastest turn on lane 2 ever recorded is 19.86 by Jason Young. (maybe this guy will beat Bolt one day lol)... Lane 2 is Lemaitre's death sentence. He's not likely to even win a bronze medal for 2 reasons.

1rst reason:
Lane 2 itself....It wouldn't be advantageous not even for Bolt. Though he'd likely beat the competition , he most likely wouldn't beat his own record. I think he's running on Lane 7 this time. Which will give him the opportunity to beat his record. It's perfect for him.
Even though Lemaitre is actually capable to do better than 19.86 , he's not likely to pull his best performance on Lane 2 because of the curve.

Which brings me to

2nd reason:
and the cherry on the top , Forget Lane 2 , Lemaitre already hates lane 3 and he's not too fond of lane 4. He hates big curves. His full potential is on lane 6 or 5

He's still young though. He'll have chances to become faster or to win a medal for the next olympics. But he's not likely to win anything this time. Unless the guy manages to pull the best ever performance from Lane 2. But i doubt it.

When Michael Johnson pulled his 200m record during the Atlanta olympic games.. It was in Lane 3 (which is very impressive). When Bolt pulled the best record ever , it was on lane 6 (or 7 i'm not sure) And when Lemaitre pulled his best personal record on Lane 6

PS: needless to say , i'm not here trolling nor do i care of being right or wrong. You can bump or make fun of this post all you want if Lemaitre ends up winning Silver or Bronze. I'd actually love to be wrong. But i'm just being lucid about the situation. As much as i want Lemaitre to win. Lane 2 is the worst for most runners , and especially Lemaitre. It is very rare to see a good performance from lane 2.

Like i said , Jason Young (with his 19.86) did it. But even 19.86 is pretty rare in lane 2. 19.86 may actually be the best time ever on lane 2.

Thanks! This is disappointing. I was hoping Lemaitre would get the bronze. Basically, his real competition is Blake,Bolt, and Spearmon.

Bolt was in lane 4 and 5 when he got 19.30 and 19.19.
In Daegu he got 19.40 in lane3, although in lane6 i imagine that he would get 19.30 or less that day.
In lane 7 is good for him i think.

Lemaitre in lane2 only has 1 option: To run until maximum all bend and after to run with all rest of his enegry until the end.
I see him options for bronze yet

I don't think Jamaica wou'd have a problem with that being that they were the one's who threw Blake under the bus and suspended him for that over the counter supplement drink, MUSCLESPEED, not WADA. The drink's can stated that it was WADA-compliant because it didn't contain any banned substances. Jamaica suspended him because it had an unlabeled addition that "closely resembled" a banned substance.

If they were so willing to drop the hammer on 5 of their athletes when they didn't have to, I don't doubt they would if there was a legitimate violation.

Bolt ran his 200m world records out of lane 5

Lemaitre ran the third best time in the semi finals, and the wind was almost identical in the 3 semi finals, Lemaitre got screwed, Bolt wouldn't be able to beat Blake if he got stuck in lane 2 and Blake got an outside lane

Here are the pessimistic forecast from Maurice Greene, Donovan Bailey, Ato Boldon... etc, about Christophe possibilities.

http://www.lequipe.fr/Athletisme/Actualites/Les-anciens-votent-bolt/304829

If he wins a medal, it will be fine. If he fails, he will have another chance in 2016. But with the level that has the race, if he fails, it won´t be a defeat.
And stop saying that blacks use peds. While it is not proved anything, they all are clean.
