Watching him play vs. the Pistons right now ... looks beefed up, and cut his hair.

Larry Brown is playing Morrison a lot more than I thought he would. Adam looked good scoring 16 points off the bench against the Nuggets. Now with Richardson out with an injury Morrison will get more playing time and a chance to flourish.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3698433

When I first heard Larry Brownstein was the head coach I immediately thought Morrison and Carroll would ride the bench but to his credit he plays Morrison a lot and Carroll gets some quality minutes.

took him as the third overall pick in the 2006 draft, Morrison has had a
spotty pro career. After 2½ seasons with the Bobcats, including one he
missed with a knee injury, Morrison was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played few meaningful minutes behind Kobe Bryant(notes)</span> and Lamar Odom(notes)</span> over the past season and a half. He averaged 2.4 points in 31 games last season.


Still, Morrison, 26, has shown flashes in summer leagues, and several
teams have an interest in working him out before the start of training
camp.


The Celtics have also worked out Cuttino Mobley, Rashad McCants and Trenton Hassell the past couple days.


Boston is planning to hire New Jersey Nets assistant coach Roy Rogers to replace Clifford Ray as the Celtics' big-man coach, sources said.

An old topic, but does anyone else feel a bit bad for Morrison? He's a free agent now and is mocked quite a deal, when he really wasn't that bad. Not only had he had a fight with diabetes, but his injury plagued his rookie year and he had no opportunity on the Lakers. The guy seems to have had a mental breakdown or something.

Is there any chance we may seem him back in the NBA or D-league/Euroleagues?

Yeah, I feel kinda of bad for him. But hopefully he invested his money wisely. He never really bought into playing any defense but maybe his injury hindered it. But at least he got a Championship ring while with the Lakers. People have to remember the 2nd and 3rd stringers push the 1st teamers in practice. They certainly deserve that Championship ring.

The only thing I didn't like about Adman was crying when his team was elimated during March Madness, what ever year that was. He should have composed himself and cried in the locker room. Oh well, he got a huge signing bonus and like I said invested wisely. A future in the NBA is bleak.

Yeah, both Kobe and Artest actually defended Morrison and said he was one of the greatest teammates that helped prepare them for the playoffs. While I didn't enjoy it either, I think the whole crying scenario was blown out of proportion. Plenty of college affletes cried when they lost, I guess people only like seeing a white man cry. :/

I'm hoping he can pick himself up and get a second chance. Maybe strike one with a team in need of some development and experience, such as the Kings.

I'd love to see him take the Euro route. THe change of scenery might be good for him and he could build his toughness and confidence back. His game would transition well b\c he has more of an outside in game and he loves to spot up for 3s.

Over at the website basketball-reference.com, it lists Morrison's 4 year salary as 16.9 million. He could already be financially set for life.

Glad to know he is still hanging around. Hope he can make a comeback, I'd love to see him in Phoenix where he can develop with a little less pressure.

perhaps a little pressure would do Morrison some good. in college, that was certainly when he performed his best.

i suspect that two things have attributed to his swift decline, and neither factor is related to a lack of talent (which is the conventional anti-White wisdom):

1) i don't think he bought into his rehab from the knee injury. just take a look at how little his body has improved from when he was in college, and then compare him to Reddick who has improved his game and body mightily.

2) i think he succumbed to the black pressure around him and took a back seat to his black"teammates."before heading to the Association, Morrison had never played on a majority black team, and i suspect the reality of the locker room crushed him. so, he took his big, guaranteed rookie paydayand said it was good enough, whilst he tried to convince himself that he wasn't.

of course, i could be totally wrong.

I agree that Morrison's downfall was the result of his injuries and lack of confidence.

I'm also glad you brought up the second part there, I've always felt some sympathy for white players having to be the token white on the team. Look at Jerebeko on the Pistons, I can't imagine what he has to go though will all those thugs (though Singler will be arriving shortly).

But, I don't think that was the scenario in Morrison's case. I remember the Bulldogs still having a decent amount of blacks when he was there and there were around five whites on the Bobcats when he arrived. Then the Lakers also had a decent amount of whites when he was there.

Regardless, I hope he can increase his confidence and return to the league.

The Bobcats had Brezec, Carroll, and Voskuhl when Morrison arrived. Voskuhl and Brezec didn't play much but Carroll was a crucial part of the offense.

Has anyone noticed that black coaches (and GMs)- in the NBA- don't seem to be as anti-white as the current problem with black NFL coaches?

A smaller roster size could have something to do with it maybe? A black coach would find it easier to control a small roster and give whites playing time in the NBA. There would be less worries about getting the Uncle Tom label? Just a thought.

Despite the Pistons and Bobcats being pretty black now, Dumars drafted Mililic over Anthony (which turned out to be a mistake) and Jordan drafted Morrison who may have panned out o.k without the torn knee ligament. Recently Dumars has drafted Jerebeko and now Singler? Otis Smith has been pretty fair as the GM of the Magic!

Some black coaches that seemed fair were Avery Johnson- and what about Monty Williams with Belinelli? He doesn't seem too bad. If I were coach I'd play Belinelli a bit more due to his nice +/-, good 3 pt. shooting and solid Pts./shot ratio, but his minutes aren't too far off where they should be. Sorry for the double post, but just thought I'd give a little update on Morrison. He signed with Red Star Belgrade and has been doing surprisingly well over there (leading scorer for his squad already) and appears to also be rebounding the ball fairly well.


All the images I've found of him show that he's also put on some more muscle, which is a good sign since he was never particularly strong during his NBA career.

I'm not sure how high the talent level is over there, but I'm hoping Morrison can find a way back in the NBA if he continues to succeed abroad.

Morrison was released from his contract with Red Star Belgrade; at his request. He says he hopes to play "somewhere in the western hemisphere" he reportedly has offers on the table from several Euroleague teams. I expect him to work out for several NBA teams and only go the Euro route if there is nothing else available to him. I expect him to sign with the San Antonio Spurs; with the new amnesty clause they will be parting ways with Richard Jefferson. They drafted Kawali Leonard, who has very limited offensive capabilities. And the Spurs are know for finding the Euro talent, they know what kind of competition he was playing against; and know that he is back to 100% mentally and physically. He will not be a starter, but will be an invaluable bench player in the mold of Manu. I will be looking forward to seeing the Spurs win the NBA championship this season. I may take some heat for this but Tim Duncan is one of the best players of all time and his attitude work ethic and intelligence is up there with the best of all time regardless of race. I hope the Spurs get Morrison, and I know that if they do he will not fail.

I too hope Morrison is someway able to find his way back to the NBA even if only as a role player. Very depressing that such an incredible talent at the college level wasn't able to pull it together in the NBA. He showed some promise his rookie season but it was all downhill from there.

I really think he is back, he has his trade mark hair again. He is playing with tenacity that borders on anger. I wonder is it possible that he was woken up to the Caste System and is out to prove it wrong, for more then just himself? It really would have been much easier for him to hide under a rock somewhere, rather then come back and fight to prove everyone wrong. I applaud him for his heart, something that was said by many (including some here) to be missing. And if he gets another shot in the NBA he will not fail.

I was always irritated as people made fun of his mustache like calling him a pedophile.

80% of the NBA (basically all Blacks) wear corn rows and tattoos. And we White people call them "thugs" then we are racists.

I have to admit his athleticism is not as bad most make it out to be. He had a torn ACL so he lost some hops. But one game while still at Gonzaga, he jumped really high and dunked it. I was so proud and it shut people up about White who cannot jump high.
