Here are the starting white players for the Oklahoma Sooners in 2011. QB Landry Jones in one of the best at his position in the country, and should contend for the Heiseman Trohpy this year. Starting MLB Austin Box was unfortunatly found dead earlier this year

, but either Jaydan Bird or Tom Wort should replace him. Oklahoma is considered a favorite to win the national title this year. White backups to look for are QB Drew Allen, TE Trent Ratteree, C Austin Woods, LG Stephen Good, and RG Broson Irwin. Oklahoma started 7 whites last year, 6 in 2009 and 2008, 5 in 2007 and 2006, and 3 in 2005. Believe it or not, things have been looking up at OU since 2005. Oklahoma will start 6 whites this year.

Offense
QB- Landry Jones
LG- Gabe Ikard
C- Ben Habern
RG- Tyler Evans

Defense
MLB- Tom Wort or Jaydan Bird Edited by: Jack Lambert

More sad news..

OU DT Daniel Noble career over due to effects of concussion

http://oklahoma.247sports.com/Board/73/OU-DT-Daniel-Noble-career-over-due-to-effects-of-concussion--2604036/1

I wouldn't be surprised if their D-line ends-up being a weak spot for them this year.. heck, previous "athletes" like Gerald McCoy and the DeMarcus somethin' guy were grossly-overrated, and their unit is looking even weaker now. They have a bunch of light DEs, too.

Of course, OU will try to score a ton of points on opponents, but, if one looks at defense and defensive rankings, I expect OU to be nothing-special there (this season).

It should only be 5. Trey Millard will be the starting fullback; he was just out for spring practice after a minor surgery. Another dark year in Norman. I don't believe this is anywhere close to a national championship caliber team.

Stanford would beat Oklahoma imo. With Luck they can make a run for the championship which is probably the reason he returned.

Yeah Choklahoma looks over-rated this year...

Sporting News depth chart includes no Fullback...just 3 WR set...they do like to use the Fullback a lot.

Wonder what will happen with former freshmanDE-Justin Chaisson?? He looked like a promising prospect but had got into some previous trouble....Edited by: TwentyTwo

Looks like Oklahoma (and to a lesser extent, Oklahoma State) are continuing the practice of overlooking the overwhelming majority of high school players in the state, who just happen to be pasty-faces. I guess the only image of a covered-wagon "Sooner" that these folks know of is the scene from Blazing Saddles about Sheriff Bart's family migration.

Oklahoma just likes to use the FB a lot when it's an afflete. Then the FB position is considered "a versitile weapon" or something like that. But if it's a white guy as the FB, it's just a human battering ram position.

Yes, as "Conservative" as Oklahomans are, they sure love and support their affletes, much like South Carolina, Jo'ga, and Alabamee. It appears as though Tulsa is grabbing at least some of these guys, though. The White skill players in Oklahoma that are lucky enough to be rated highly by one of these criminal recruiting services should avoid these schools at all costs.
