The good news is this Texas CF is an elite athlete. The bad news is scouts are becoming convinced he can't hit. Currently batting around .341 but he needs to improve his hitting. There is still time. As of now he had dropped from number one pick perch.

A .341 AVG is good, isn't it? What do they expect a college player to hit?

Drew Stubbs has gone from being a star University of Texas CF that the scouts had "concerns" about to being a Gold-Glove level CF in the majors with the Reds, teaming with Jay Bruce for probably the best CF/RF defense in the game.

Stubbs is also batting .251 with 21 HRs, 73 RBIs, and 26 steals.

Great pure athlete needs to refine hitting mechanics but had a strong finish.Glas Reds stuck by him and it paid off. My favorite player along with Brett Gardner and Peter Borjous a blindingly fast rookie for the Angels. Stubbs was a WR/ 100 meter sprint champ in HS.

Stubbs can and should make the all star game. When is the national media going to start recognizing this guy. Oh wait he's white and plays a "speed" position. We all know Drew will have to steal 140 bases, bat .410 and bang out 63 HRs to get any love playing CF.
