Ok, so perhaps someone out there has better knowledge of this then me. From following the Irish's practice updates, threads ect.I have discovered there is a very real possibility of there being four white RB's on the roster. Of course three of them are walk-ons. But with the lack of depth/need for a solid running game there is a very real chance they will all see playing time.

Of course we all know about Cam McDaniel , he has a great shot at getting some carries as a true freshman. Hopefully they will feature him in the offense early and often ala Rex Burkhead in his Frosh year.

Patrick Coughlin a senior looks to have the best chance at playing time right away. From what I have heard he is supposed to be taking over the "Big Back" role. Hey if it get's him on the field I am all for it.

Derry Herlihy seems to be more of just a camp body. But the man is tough as nails. How do I know? He plays rugby for the Irish. Man's game gents, man's game.

Tyler Plantz is the biggest unknown of the bunch. From what I can tell he did not play any RB in High School. Somehow that just does not sound right, making the cut as a Walk-On White RB true Frosh? Who know's if any of you have any knowledge of Tyler let us know.

If all this info is true and holds up till the season we may just see a predominately white backfield.Talk about a CasteBuster

Its good news that at least there are some white runningbacks in camp. It'd be cool to see McDaniel and Plantz to get some playing time together down the road. But you never know, Notre Dame is one big draft class away from signing their latest bunch of "5 Star recruits". The White walk-ons will then be forced over to Safety, Runningback, Special teams Demon, or Fulback. Hell if they'll even still be part of the team...

Notre Dame is going to be a pretty white team this year from what I saw at the spring game.

Plus on a draft special on the NFL network, they asked ND coach Brian Kelly about the most talented players his team had played against and everyone he listed was white!
