Hello everyone. I am a newbie but just wanted to share a caste story from many years ago that opened my eyes to the Caste system. Alfred was a starting 3 year cornerback from Rome Free Academy in rome NY. I ran track and played football so I was always looking for fast white guys in my area. Alfred in 1997 consistently ran a 10.7 100 meters in track. Alfred had a black football teamate who played corner named Tony Berry but Berry never ran past a 11.1 100 meters. During their seniorseason Rome played Henniger high from Syracuse for the NY state section 3 championchip. Henniger had the # 1 wide r. in the countr y named Marquise Walker who went on to have a sub par career at Michigan. Bevilaqua played Walker the entire game and shut him out with 4 pass break ups and 2 interceptions. Long story short Bevilaqua was named 1st team all state and Berry wasnt even 1st team Section 3. So when it came down to recruitng Berry received a full ride to Rutgers and Bevilaqua got a partial scholarship to Fordham, wait for it.......to play Strong Safety. Wow a strong safety with 10.7 100 meter speed. How can you shut down the best receiver in the country and not get a sniff from a Division 1 school? It reminds me of the hundreds of white players who are named gatorade player of the year and then dont get recruited by anyone. Youd think the media would pick up on the racism since the only kind of racism they see is anti black racism. I literally watched ESPN all day last July 9th to see them cover Lemaitres sub 10 100 meter run. They never showed Lemaitre once.Yet the media always jumps on the first black punter to run for a first down in the Super Bowl if you get my drift. The double standard is disgusting.

Welcome to CF, Matt. Sorry to hear the story, an all-too-familiar situation among white players at all levels
