Purdue had11 white starters in'09,9 white starters 2008, 8 in 2007 and 2006, and 9 in 2005. Overall a pretty friendly white team. Look for big things out of DE Ryan Kerrigan this year! Purdue looks to start 12whites .

What do you mean you agree? He looked white to me but you say he has a black dad.

It means I thought he initially looked white . But I thought I remembered someone mentioning that he was black in one of the Miami Hurricanes threads. After Idid a little research on the web, I found out his father is 100% black, so he's mixed.

As you guys probably know, Robert Marve is from Florida, and, kinky hair or not, he looks like just another non-White Latino mix (or Injun) from those parts.

That's definitely not a White boy's nose.

Thanks for the info ES. Ralph Bolden, who IMO had a good year for a true frosh, is out all year with a knee injury. Bolden finished the season with a 4.8 YPC average last year, if I can trust my memory, but he did this going up against some great defenses with his often over matched offense- so I was pretty impressed. I wish Bolden well in his recovery. This brings a great opportunity for Dan Dierking.

I saw DD was VERY efficient in his first game on 9 carries (but I forget who they played), so I think he'll earn more next week. This may be Dierking's one chance to grab the attention of the NFL- as a late round pick? but he'll have to be damn good b/c he's smallish, white and doesn't have an elite 3rd gear. Dierking is quite shifty, with a nice burst and good hands though- and very tough for his size.

Some good news about Dan from Rotoworld.

Purdue running back Dan Dierking gained 102 yards and scored twice as the Boilers handled Western Illinois.

Dierking's 14 carries were nine more than those given to Al-Terek McBurse, and it appears that Dierking has emerged as the go-to guy in Ralph Bolden's (knee) absence.

Mixed QB Marve is out for the season, and white QB Rob Henry takes over, for one more white starter for Boilermakers.

He has always been extremely overrated by the media and "scouts"...

Hopefully the fast-twitched - Rob Henry - will bring back memories of Drew Brees!

Black WR denied 6th year by NCAA.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6168082

The NCAA has denied Purdue wide receiver Keith Smith a sixth year of eligibility, ending his college career.

Smith,
a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2009, applied for a sixth year in
November after tearing two knee ligaments in his right knee Sept. 11
against Western Illinois. The season-ending injuries occurred in
Purdue's second game.

"The entire Purdue football family is very
disappointed for Keith," coach Danny Hope said in a statement. "We're
not only losing one of the top wide receivers in the Big Ten, but one of
the top leaders on our team. We will do everything we can to help Keith
continue his football career and get his Purdue degree."

Smith,
who sat out the 2007 season, led the Big Ten in both receptions (91) and
receiving yards (1,100) in 2009. He received an invitation to the NFL
scouting combine but could not participate in drills as he's still
rehabbing from knee surgery.

The NCAA granted a sixth year of
eligibility to both Purdue linebacker Jason Werner last season and
safety Torri Williams in 2009.

"I just want to say thank you to
all of the Purdue fans that have made my college career so much more
enjoyable," Smith said in a statement. "I'm disappointed that I won't be
in Ross-Ade Stadium playing in front of you on Saturdays, but my time
as a Boilermaker has left me with a lot of great memories."

"Purdue football is a family, and I am terribly saddened by the loss of one of our young men," Purdue coach Danny Hope said in a statement. "Sally's and my prayers continue to go out to Sean's family and all his friends and loved ones. He was a special young man whose positive spirit will be a part of our program forever."

A fifth year walk-on running back, Matti joined the Purdue team in 2007.

"He's a good program guy. A scout team contributor who is well liked by his teammates," associate athletic director Tom Schott told the Journal & Courier of Lafayette, Ind.
