It was a good day for some of the receivers and tightends for us.J.Shockey had 5 catches for 129 yards.J.Witten in the same game had 5 for 56.The Titans lose again with McNair as he throws 2 int's and no touchdowns.Drew Bennett still managed to have 7 catches for 61 yards.Wes Welker had a big game returning and had 3 catches for 97 yards!H.Miller/Rookie for the Steelers had his first break out game with 4 for 72 yards.Last but not least is the ageless wonder Ricky Proehl who had 5 catches for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Tonight we get to see Joe for the Seahawks on national tv along with Urhban.Tommorow is the big game between the undefeated Colts and the Rams.Stokley vs Curtis. Not a bad weekend of football.

Man, its good to see Wes Welker back in the mix. Also, Kevin Walter got into the game for Cincinnati and had 4 for 65.

The only bad thing is saint Vick threw for 119 yards and Finneran got jack.

Yet last week Matt Schaub threw for 3 TD's 0 INT's over 300 yards and he still rides the pine because God forbid a whitey QB actually outperforms the "brutha"Edited by: Lance Alworth

I've said it so many times until I'm blue in the face.Vick is the most overrated, overhyped, biggest bust of all time.He is a good athlete, but a horrible qb.Vick also gets hurt more than a 80 year old lady. How the hell do they expect his body to hold up.The only reason they win some games is the defense, and he has 2 good running backs behind him to take the pressure off him.I will win the lottery before Vick ever throws for 300 yards!

I can't believe what I just heard:

whats his face announcing the Seahawks game, seconds after Jurevicius' touchdown, said:

"Jurevicius is just like Ricky Proehl; all he does once he gets on the field is catch everything thrown at him."

I couldn't believe my ears!!

This has been a solid weekend of non-caste material across the board, with Bloom's commercial, the Fox news announcers finger pointing at the blacks looting in Toledo, and now affirmative comments about a white receiver!! WOW!!!

New England's defense hasn't been able to overcome the loss of key players. They are getting porous.

Yahoo: Trailing by 25,Tom Brady picked on the young Denver secondary -- missing the injured Champ Bailey for most of the second half -- to pull the Patriots within 28-20 late.

New England had a chance to tie, but Brady threw three straight incompletions and after a punt, the Denver offense ran the final 3 1/2 minutes off the clock.

Well, I saw the game. Brady threw two beautiful passes to Branch and Givens, hitting them both in the chest. Branch was hit and coughed up the ball and Givens just flat out dropped it.

Jake Plummer is looking really good.If he continues to play conservatively and doesn't try to win games on one throw, he mighttake the Bronco's pretty far. Edited by: Bart

Kevin Curtis had 3 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown tonight. The 57 yard Bomb Catch was very nice and showed off his world class speed. It's too bad that Bulger got hurt because Martin is not half the qb that he is.Curtis would have easily had well over 100 yards.

I was glad to see the Colts win however. They are the only undefeated team left.Manning reminds me so much of Dan Marino.Peyton is the best in all of football.Stokley had a ok game.Even though the Colts have a very tough schedule,I can see them possibly going 16-0.I'm serious about that. They are finally an all around team.

Manning had a great game, but he looks like he has happy feet. Don't know why, because he isn't sacked that often. He seems nervous back there. Anybody else notice this or is it just me?

The "performance" I noticed was how little Peyton Manning and Marc Bulger were praised by John Madden and Al Michaels. Madden at one point criticized Manning for not throwing more to Marvin Harrison and kind of snickered when Manning ran a couple of times. These announcers and all others ooh and aah over every nice play by Vick, McNabb, Leftwich, Brooksand Culpepper and point out various of their positive attributes as quarterbacks, but very little was said about the quarterback who had a season for the ages last year and whose team is unbeaten this year so far.

Madden at another point said that the Colts defense had figured out the Rams offense, which started the game red hot. Michaels had to politely point out that the Rams offense sputtered when Bulger was knocked out of the game. Apparently all white quarterbacks look alike to Madden.

Another "performance" I noticed was that Marvin Harrison seemed to be angry most of the game. After Peyton underthrew him in the endzone he picked up the ball and hurled it in anger. On another play near the endzone he didn't even attempt to run a pattern. Seemed to me like he's mad that Manning nowoften looks at the many other excellent options he has in the passing game.

When Harrison caught the record breaking pass from Manning to make them the top QB-WR tandem ever in TDs, Harrison made no attempt to congratulate his quarterback. Everyone made a big deal over Marvin, but Marvin wasn't interested in reciprocating.

In the post-game interview Manning went out of his way to say how honored he was to have Harrison as a teammate; Harrison's praise of Manning was more reserved. Harrison is always portrayed as an unselfish player, but I think this is yet another case of the media creating an image that's different from reality. Harrison was also always portrayed as a model citizen, but that civil suit accusing him of choking a young fan who asked for his autograph would seem to belie that.

This is a common tactic used by blacks. Stokley and Clark caught a few passes , so Harrison does his petulant routine causing Manning to throw more passes his way.

Madden is always subdued in his praise for whites but can't glorify blacks enough. Clark made two very nice catches consecutively I believe, the last one being really good andMadden spent the time talking about how the play developed, what lineman did what and Clark was barely mentioned. Does he have a quota or something?

I think it was Jackson who made a run and was brought down by Archuletta on a good tackle and Madden said something about how Adam was a pretty good tackler but Jackson still got extra yards. What was he watching? Adam came from the side, nailed him and dragged him down about a yard or so later, you'd think Jackson carried him 15 yards. Not only did Madden deflect praise from Adam, he managed to make the running back look good instead.

I guess you've never watched him announce a game in which Brett Favre's playing.
[/QUOTE]

Brett Farve is the exception to the rule. I mean honestly can you name any other white guys but I'm sure you could give 5 black QBs right off the top of your head. Also congrats to Kevin Curtis and Archuleta on great games and a special shout out to Mike Furrey for taking the starting Free Safety spot and playing good. I like to see Furrey out there as me playing Free Safety in the NFL as that was my position.

Who decides who are the Player(S) of the Game for MNF games? Madden and Michaels or the producers? Can't they decide on one player? Picking four guys kinda defeats the purpose. Okay, so a record was broken, then pick Manning and Harrison. Otherwise bite the bullet and pick one friggin' guy. Geez.

And aren't running backs supposed to do that? Fall forward and get an extra yard or two? It reminds me a little bit of the Bo Jackson/ Brian Bosworth play. Typical play blown out of proportion in order to humiliate a white player. This was less dramatic, of course.

One performance that I liked was by formerly waived Seahawk Jerheme Urban. This is a guy that got waived, I think from the practice squad, but got lucky and got resigned and got some playing time!!

Sure his stats weren't that great, but for someone in his position to get a shot at playing (sunday night on ESPN) is great!

------------REC YDS AVG LG TD

Jerheme Urban 2 38 19.0 25 0

I am totally biased as a Seahawks fan, but I would rank this right up there in the Great Opportunity Stories alongside with when Danny Kanell got to start for the Bronocos on Monday Night Football a few years ago.
