I'll be rooting for the Astros to make it to the World Series for the first time. Maybe the White Sox will get there for the first time since 1959. Seven of the eight teams in the playoffs are white friendly, with only the Yankees strongly pro-Caste.

Do you really consider the Angels to be white friendly?I thought they ran most of their good players out of town.I agree with the other teams.

You're right, WL, the Angels have changed a lot since their nearly all-white World Series winner in '02. They're not as bad as the Yankees, but pretty bad. Make that six out of eight.

What about the Braves? They are White-friendly and very young. How can you not root for Marcus Giles, Ryan Langerhans, Pete Orr, Jeff Francouer, Adam LaRoche, and their cast of young pitchers (other than old fogeys Smoltz and Hampton)?

Future Hall of Famer Craig Biggio had three doubles to lead the Astros over the Braves in Game 3. The Astros played an all-white team except for CF Willy Taveras.

Way to go Astros.Craig Biggio has always been one of my favorite players. He reminds me of Pete Rose in his playing style because he always hustles. He had a great year to hitting 26 homeruns.Combine that with his speed and defense. What a great all around player. He will be back next year.I would love to see the Astros make it to the world series.

Biggio will be the most unheralded player ever to reach 3000 hits yet he has been amazingly versatil and multi-talented. He can hit has excellent power for his size is a great leadoff man and base stealer and has played several different positions at the highest level defensively. Biggio has more career hits then Bonds but gets 1/1000 the publicity.

Wow! I didn't know that! You aren't kidding about the lack of publicity!

Man is this game crazy. The game is tied at 6 all going into the bottom of the 18th inning.Clemens just struck out Francouer and is about to bat leading off the last of the 18th.I have never ever seen a game quite like this.Clemens is amazing but there are no pitchers left to back him up.At 43,he is the last defense. He has to pitch until his arm falls off.Go Astros!

One of the most unique games ever. What a sweet, short, flat swing Berkman has. Love it. And Clemens, last line of defense just like WL said, nobody left to take his place if he struggled. Wow. Amazing game.

Bravo! Booming Burke Blasts Ball Beyond Blustering Braves Barricades!
Gosh I feel good for the kid! And for myself, and baseball fans everywhere. Two Grand Salamis, a last-of-the-ninth miracle, the Old Man pitches superbly, and the kid reaches the bleachers. Shades of Bobby Thompson and Kirk Gibson!

A Yankee free world - ah that sounds grand.

Now if the Mexifornia Angels of Anaheim will cooperate and join the Yankees in exile, only teams who don't buy into the Caste System will be left. We would then be left with three fine teams who believe in solid teamwork and fundamentals and timely big plays. The nearly all white Astros roster has a pitching staff led by arguably the greatest pitcher of all time, the royalty known simply as The Rocket, helped by Oswalt and Pettitte. The hitters include two sure fire Hall of Famers in Biggio and Bagwell. Berkman and young Ensberg may join them someday. The time is right for this mostly veteran collection of talent to overcome this opening game loss and achieve the destiny they so closely approached in recent years. All Caste Football supporters should encourage the gods to fill the Astros with the needed confidence and spirit to get over their longstanding hurdle of not quite making it to a World Series despite having the talent to get there. This is the year Houston wins its first NL Pennant and defeats the White Sox, appearing in their first World Series in 46 years.

Looks like we're moving the Astros in the right direction. Clemens pitches today.

Clemens won today, giving Houston a 2-1 lead. The Sox are up 3-1, Konerko is bopping the long ball and Pod is getting on base and running pretty well. It seems the umps may have missed a a few calls here and there, but that's playoff baseball. Lou Piniella is articulate and poised behind the mike... kind of surprising.

No one's mentioned Brad Lidge yet, the Astros closer. He saved the game for Clemens today, but actually gave up a run, proving he's human. He's been close to unhittable down the stretch this year.

Astros win again today and take a 3-1 game lead over the Cardinals. The last two games they have started an all white lineup and have two wins. Today the pitching was phenominal, holding the Cards to only one run. Tomorrow hopefully they can close out the series and go to their first World Series. Go Astros!!

Pujols is certainly a heads-up player. "I'm on third. No outs. Down one run. Ninth inning. Weak grounder to third baseman. Hey, the NL's MVP is gonna run to home."

Who I feel sorry for is Edmonds. What would his numbers be if he could camp out at first base like Pujols? Instead he destroys his body diving for balls.

Another thing about Pujols is all his finger-pointing to the sky after a base hit or run scored. Of course it's preferable to Satanism or something, but it seems all the Latin players have to cross themselves and appeal to Jesus Cristo in the most elaborate ways.

And I don't think it's religion really, rather an expression of ethnicity. Think of all the really religious White players; J.D. Drew, Pettite, Ensburg, etc. They manage to play without constant petitions and acknowledgements to the Lord.

It seems the Astros have a better chemistry. Nothing to do with a lack of Black players or anything.

Did you see the interview with Clemens when he talked about his mother's last day? She really knew baseball and mentioned Shoeless Joe Jackson three times. You know, the White Sox player with Hall of Fame stats who will never be considered for the Hall of Fame. If only he had played in the Negro Leagues, or been a steroid&nbsp ;-jockey from Cuba like Palmeiro.

But he was illiterate. From the South. Victimized by Arnold Rothstein. Let's move on.

In a way it's all come full circle. How did teams win way back when? Being smart, taking advantage of mistakes. Paying attention. Thinking.

My theory is heavily-minority teams simply don't think very much. Even when speaking English no one speaks the same language as Blacks, Whites, Asians, and Latins haveradically different ways of seeing the world. Things must be kept simple and criticism-free.

Let's give it up for the (mostly) White Sox, winning their first pennant in 46 years. If the Astros win their first ever NL pennant it would make for a great matchup, especially from a white perspective.

An interesting angle to me is that this would be the first time a Texas franchise has made the World Series. The Astros have been in the NL since 1962 and this will be their first Series if they beat the Cardinals. The Texas Rangers have never made the Series since the old Washington Senators moved to Arlington in 1972. It used to be said by some baseball people that the weather in Texas caused a team to run out of gas. It would be nice to see Roger Clems have a big WS at his age.

Also, I remember when the White Sox played the LA Dodgers in the 1959 Series. The Dodgers won 4 games to 2. Most of the games were very exciting as I saw them on TV at age 9.

What was Escobar thinking, trying to tag out Pierzynski with his glove, while the ball was in his other hand? Looked really weird. And Rodriguez was way out of position after throwing pitches, falling off the mound and even spinning around. These two will never challenge Greg Maddux for a Gold Glove, that's for sure.

Way to go Sox for winning the pennant.Edited by: Bart
