Practice squads signees

Anyone know how much these practice squad players get paid?

I found this on wiki answers, for what its worth.

As of 2006, the pay was $4,700 per week for the 17 weeks of the season
(about $85,000). Practice squad players do not receive fringe benefits
like the roster players...



The minimum salary from 2009-2010 is $5,200 per week for 17 weeks,
or $88,400 per season, in comparison to the NFL minimum rookie salary
of $285,000. (Some practice squad players are paid considerably more,
however. In 2006, the New England Patriots paid third-year player Billy
Yates the full $425,000 he would have earned on the active roster.)

I have a friend on the Chicago Bears practice squad and he makes $90,000 per year.

This is about right. I know it was around 80k back in the late 90's. Bubble guys like Woodhead, Haas take huge hits when they make the regular roster, then get cut and are signed to the practice squad.

I'm not singling you out, white is right, but quite a few people have been misspelling Mike Hass' name on the board over the last couple of years. I noticed it a couple of days ago on another thread as well. It would be really cool if we could not only spell names correctly, but take the time to edit our posts to fix other misspelled words or writing problems. I believe the CF board to be composed of very intelligent and well informed posters, and the look of our writing should reflect that reality.

I think I was being lazy and spelled the name like the German spelling. If he was really a Haas he might not have played football and might have been a playboy that lived off his family's wealth from the clothing business.... Edited by: white is right

Texans giving Ventrone a tryout. Cardinals waive Lance Long.

I was watching the Cardinals game Sunday when Long dropped a pass. I remember thinking that it wouldn't surprise me if he was cut as a result. I was surprised when he made the team and figured his leash was about as short as one can be.

Good news about Ventrone!I would love to see him getting some PT in that secondary this year, the Texans have become real white friendly!

Browns signed Ray to their active roster

Chiefs signed WR Lance Long to their practice squad.

A nice pickup for Todd Haley. Long was good enough to make Arizona's Week 1 roster, but was scapegoated a rough Week 1 during which Kurt Warner looked more like a late-40s quarterback than a Super Bowl runner-up. K.C. is starving for talent at all positions, so Long may be activated later this year.

It would be great to see Long make the Chiefs active roster, as that would represent another team breaking out of the 100% black only WR mindset.
