Joris Van Gool set another p.b. today. He has now run 10.20 and 10.17 in his last 2 races. This 22 years old is someone to keep a close eye on. Very consistant and he has trains as hard as anyone to get better. Very nice season he has had and I'm hoping it will
lead to bigger and better things in 2021. Would love to see him get a sub 10.10 soon and then aim for a few sub 10's after that. Congrats on winning the Netherlands National Championship!

Yoshide Kiryu of Japan ran legal 10.07 in the heats, and 10.06 in the final in Tokyo.
This guy is super consistent. He ran 10.09 last weekend.

good on Joris.
Slow and steady does it, inching away at his personal bests consistently. He does have a 10.16 from a year ago but that was maximum allowable wind so 10.17's still a little improvement in real terms and in a meet that counts after a decimated year.
I'm glad his decent 60s have turned into good 100s - that doesn't always happen.
The usual Dutch big guns of the past few years (Paulina, Martina, Burnet) seem to be absent?

British teenage sprint sensation, Amy Hunt, won the 100m today in Goteborg, Sweden.
Her time was 11.39.
She is the Euro Junior Champ in the 200m.

I found this in an interview:

" . . . things could have easily turned out differently. When she first joined an athletics club she was originally “shoved into the middle distance group”.

“Because I was tall, lanky and spindly they told me I wasn’t going to be a sprinter even though I told them I was quick and the school had sent me,” Hunt laughs. “But by the end of the year I was top of the under-13 rankings without really doing any serious training. That made me think that athletics was something I could go into – and the following year I won the English schools championships.”

Don't judge a book by its cover. I think that's the message here, and the message of caste football.

Outstanding news. I was little worried about Quinn as his 2 of his last 3 races were not too good. I shouldn't think that though as almost every sprinter is having a down year with a lack of training and races. I'm very happy
to see him rebound. This will help him with his confidence going into the off season coming soon. Congrats to the others as well as Amy Hunt who is an amazing find for the U.K.

If they did that to Bolt he could have been another Mobot.... All jokes aside if you give me two prospects and one is spindly and lanky and the other is built like superman and you assume he is clean and both have similar times I will take the spindly and lanky prospect as they generally are less physically mature and have more room for improvement.

I was going to mention before that Van Gool looks facially alot like Jared Connoughton of Canada. Well for both the PV's to go over 6m in the same meet.

Speaking of young, European, female sprinters, like Kaddari (19 yrs old, 11.44) and Tanderud (16 yrs old, 11.52), here's a few more to watch out for:
Rani Rosius, 20 yrs old from Belgium. 11.39 100m 2020. (Pretty cute.)
Vittoria Fontana 20 yrs old from Italy. 11.40 100m EJC 2019
Lily Kaden 18 yrs old from Germany. 11.46
Nikki Anderberg 18 yrs old from Sweden. 11.47

Rani Roisus wins the Brussels Diamond League 100m

Dalia Kaddari, 19 yrs old of Italy, and quite a beauty, set a PB of 11.44 in the 100m today.
She also ran 23.48 in the 200m.
Another up and comer to keep an eye on!

Kaddari is now the Italian champion in the 200m. Young, fast, and beautiful.
The finals start at the 7 minute mark.

Thanks for posting the race. Pretty face, nice "tooshie" and oh some talent too. As my grandmother would say "that's a nice." As always with me Go Italia.

Now a personal plea to Alica "Helen of Troy" Schmidt. Not that I am hung up on her or anything. This might be the time Alica to take a break on your jet setting ways which take you from the beautiful beaches to the scenic ski slopes across the globe. Time to buckle down and focus on some track and field. I ,uh I mean the world wants to see you on the big stages competing. Everybody is aching to see you, I mean your talents on the track. So snap to it gorgeous the world will be there every step of the way. Me too.

nice looking athlete Kaddari is but her times are pedestrian on a world stage. Positives....she has time to get stronger and faster...

Kaddari is just 19 yrs old, the equivalent of a college sophomore.
Given her age, her times are great, and as you said, she has time to get stronger and faster.
Her PB of 23.30 is the fastest U20 time in Europe this season.

17 year old Henriette Jaeger of Norway is another young, speedy female sprinter.
Like Daphne Schippers, she has been a heptathlete, but is now making a name for herself in the sprints.

She recently set PBs of 11.51 in the 100m, 23.53 in the 200m, and 52.52 in the 400m
All 3 times are fastest Under 18 times in Europe this season!, and all 3 times are National U18 records.
Her 100m time is 5th fastest U20 this season; her 200m and 400m times are 3rd fastest U20 times this season.
Her 200m time is also National U20 record.

Little Norway is really killing it this year on the track!

With her dark sultry looks Dalia Kaddari would make a perfect seductive Bond villainess. Men gravitate to beautiful dangerous looking women like moths to a flame.

We had some good times in the Under 20 German Champs in the mens and womens sprints. Simon Wulff is a very tall sprinter who I like. He needs to work on his turnover ratio but he has alot of potential. He won easily running a time of 10.41 for an easy win.

Lilly Kaden in the womens under 20 100 meters showed great speed with an very fast time herself of 11.32 with 0.2 wind so she did it all on her own. Fantastic time and the 2nd place sprinter is another tall german girl to keep an eye on by the name ofTalea Preppens!

That's a new PB for Kaden, and the fastest U20 time in Europe this season. She looked good.

relative comparison of Kaddari's times to Hannah Cunliffe as a sophomore...

Cunliffe 100m-11.11 200m 22.49
Kaddari 100m-11.44 200m 23.48

Having said all this, I do think she can get better with maturity as long as she does not go to the flighty/vain "look at me" scenario like Cunliffe did.

Here is the 2nd longest javelin in the history of the world. Incredible to watch Johannes Vetter comptete! Absolute warrior with the most incredible genetics. He will break the world record. The guy is the only javelin competitor to
throw over 90 meters this year and he has done it so many times and today almost hit 100 meters! :)
