Something we missed back in June . . . Kristian Pulli of Finland, set a new national record with a jump of 8.27 meters. That's over 27 feet!
It's the 2nd longest jump in the world this year.
He's been a good jumper in previous years, but this puts him on another level.

Femke Bol.
This is a name to really take note of. She is from the Netherlands.
She is looking like the female version of Karsten Warholm.
Last year she was the U20 Euro Champion in the 400m hurdles in her first year competing in the event.
This year, she has taken 1.53 seconds off her PB from last year, running a World Leading 53.79.
She is only 20 years old, and it's only her 2nd season running this event!
Very reminiscent of Karsten Warholm.
The season is still young. Let's see what else she has in store for us this year.

Another big performance for Femke Bol today over the 400 meter hurdles! She ran a time of 53.79 which is a
national record and world leading performance! It is the 4th fastest U23 European all-time by a 20y old. Her first 400 meters hurdles race
was 15 months ago and the sky is the limit for this female sprint hurdling prodigy! :)

Correct time is 53.79.
That is faster than any European ran last year, and would have put her 6th on the world list.
And this is just her 2nd race of her 2nd season in this event. The girl is killing it.
She also ran a 51.19 400m time trail, which is blazing.
As I said, she is the female Karsten Warholm. Very excited about her.

And speaking of Dutch women, I also want to note that Marije van Hunenstijn, ran 22.91 200m, to beat Ajla Del Ponte of Switzerland, who is the world leader in this event.
Lieke Klaver, who turns 22 in August, was 3rd in 23.12. Fast times!
I believe Lieke Klaver, Del Ponte, and Femke Bol all train under the same coach. So far they are all having great years. Dafne Schippers should join their group!

Speaking of Bruno Hortelano, he is a really underrated sprinter, even here on this board.
He is the Spanish national record holder in the 100m, 200m, and 400m.
He has the potential to be sub-10 and sub-20 in the 100m and 200m, as his PBs are not far off.
Unfortunately, he lost a year and a half of competition due to his hand injury.
But he still has some time to improve on his bests, which are shown below.

Femke Bol, the new 400m hurdles sensation from the Netherlands, broke her 400m PB today, running 51.13 in Switzerland today. That's the fastest time in Europe this year, and the 2nd fastest time in the world.
This fast running, will translate into faster 400m hurdles times.
Looking forward to her season.

A name I don't recognize, Przemyslaw Slowikowski (of Poland) ran 10.19 (1.6w) to beat some better known Polish sprinters.

We have 3 white lightnings now. Devin Quinn and Matthew Boling are 2 of the 3 with that nickname! :)

So glad to see Devin Quinn running as a professional and putting down 2 very fast times for his first time out. Hope he can get close to the 10.00 second flat range by the end of the summer!

In a year that we all want to have any kind of news to lift our spirits this helped my weekend end off great! Thanks for the updates. I was out of town.

This kid is a late bloomer. I believe he is 27 so it's not too late yet. Przemyslaw Slowikowski ran a 10.05 in the finals of this same meet but the wind was too strong. Regardless it shows he can really turn those legs over with incredible fast twitch muscles needed to possibly go sub 10 someday. Hope he can continue to progress over the next few years! :)

Here is his instagram for those interested:
