Who was the last great white American boxer, Kelly Pavlik? Anyway if Smith wins he could become a big star.

Joe Smith looks like a great prospect. A win would probably make him the best white US boxer. He's in his prime now at 27 and with a streak of wins. I'll be looking forward to the fight.

Sad, but after what they did to Kovalev I worry the only way he could beat Hopkins is by KO

Not really. Isn't Hopkins over 50 now? A win over a fifty-something, even a HOFer like Hopkins, doesn't mean much and a loss will bring snickers.

Hope it's a good payday anyway.

You're probably right, I am just extremely frustrated with the Kovalev Ward decision. I posted on that subject in this forum. Basically I said Kovalev won 115-112 on power punches. But even counting total punches (taps by Ward in the clinch) Kovalev still wins 114-113. Point is judges scored all close rounds to Ward and could do the same here if they felt like it.

Joe Smith has the drive and ability. I hope he brought in a trainer to bring his full potential out.

Joe Smith wins in dominating fashion by dropping Hart (best friends with Hopkins) and getting the MD, should have been a UD. Bopkins has this White boy cursing him during his career and in retirement. LOL

Time after time, bad judging happens. The blatant racism and favoritism. At least Smith got the win and the irony of it is that people who watch boxing knows what the deal is. The fans know Smith whooped that boy and sent him home with his tail tucked.

Smith got the job done. I didn't see a blow-out. Hart was clipping him with some sharp counters throughout the fight. He just couldn't keep up with the construction guy's heavier hands and work rate.

Caught the last Round of the Fight, just in time to see Smith receive the decision!

Smith was able to win despite Hart getting some help from the referee and at least one judge.
The referee split the fighters up at least once when Smith had Hart against the ropes and was hurting him. He also stopped the fight for the Dr. to check out Hart's cut, which gave Hart a breather when he was clearly fading.
The 95-94 score was ridiculous. That would mean that if you took away Smith's 10-8 round when he scored the knockdown, Hart would have won six of the remaining nine rounds. No way. And everyone knew it. Even the ESPN commentators who were rooting for Hart and were obviously frustrated by his performance knew Smith was the clear winner.
Smith pressed the action and was able to connect on over twice as many power punches. Smith was never in trouble. Hart was saved by the bell closing out the seventh round. Hart generously won three rounds, at the most, which would result in a 97-92 score in favor of Smith. Should have been a UD.

Thanks for the upload. Smith won every round. Andre Ward tossed one bone to hart and give him only one round. The corrupt judge attempted to steal the fight from Smith. I liked what I saw from Smith. Increased head movement, improving jab. If he can progress, he wins a title from a contender.

Good fight.

What was up with that brawl that broke out in the stands after the final round? Was it Joe’s construction buddies fighting with some Philly thugs?

Probably. Blacks not liking what was happening in the ring, and not liking Smith's fans supporting him. Just TNB when things do not go their way. Glad Smith's supporters fought back.

That’s what I figured too. Had to lash out violently as they couldn’t cope with the reality that their homeboy got dominated by a White man.

Smith Jr gave me one of my favourite moments ever in boxing history when he knocked out Hopkins through the ring :D

Smith jr vs Callum Johnson is gonna be a war! Two huge punchers. 50/50 fight imo. Johnsons last chance so he's gonna go for it.

Joe Smith Jr. fights a replacement, Steve Geffrard. They didn't want Callum fighting due to coronavirus.

I always get more excited by White vs. Negro fights.

People like Max Kellerman are always trying to convince the public that Whites are athletically inferior, I love it when people prove him wrong.
