Yes Doncic deserved to be an All Star. The whole world knows that and it's a crime but let's look at the bright side.

One of the greatest players to ever play made his 14th an most likely last all star game. Dirk Nowitzki who has over 30'000 career pts.

Jokic make the all star team.

Vucevic made the all star team.

So we have 3 whites. Not great but a slight improvement over last year if my memory is right.

Doncic will be so pissed about being left off. I would not want to even try to guard him in the last part
of the season. As if the guy isn't good enough already averaging over 20 pts per game with 6 rebounds & 5 assists per night.
He also has 2 triple doubles and has come close to many others. He will tear up the league over the last 30 games!

Dallas has become the team to watch going forward. Kleber is a very talented player who can also block shots almost as
good as Porzingis. These 2 will guard the paint and they both can score inside or outside to go with Doncic. What a team. Give
us one or two more of our guys and it would be even better. I like the Pats comparison. Hoping the mavs will be a 50/50 mix
of players next years and make the playoffs! That would be amazing!

Yup just read about Nikola Vucevic and Nikola Jokic both making there 1st all-star appearances! Vucevic 7'0 260 has been underrated his whole 8 year career but has really picked up his game into star-status this year with career high avgs of 20.6 ppg 12 rpg 3.8 apg and 1.2 bpg!

As for Jokic 7'0 250, this seems to be the first of many all-star selections for the young Serbian, with Jokic cementing himself as the best Center in the NBA! He's put up unheard passing avgs for a bigman this year with 20.1 ppg 10.5 rpg 7.7 apg and 1.4 spg!!

A bold prediction for next years all-star game is that we may see the whitest teams since the early 90's or 80's! With new Mav Kristaps Porzingis fully healthy, along with his rising star teammate Luka Doncic likely to be yearly candidates! Also white Americans Kevin Love, and Gordan Hayward are expected 100% back and in form. With Love almost a lock to make it every year, Hayward has found it rough getting back to his 16/17 allstar form after that nasty leg break. But I've been hearing leg breaks are the hardest injuries to recover from in basketball, so expect Hayward to look consistently like his all-star self by the end of this season and in 19/20!

Kevin Love, Gordon Hayward, and Porzingis all making next year's all-star game, is a very bold prediction(!), given all are coming back from serious injuries.

The Gordon Hayward situation this season has been very frustrating. At times he puts up solid numbers yet other games he can't hit the broad side of a barn.

That said he moves with such effortless grace and through all the stop and starts he seems to be inching towards better play despite some bad stat games that continue to pop up.

He isn't going anywhere because of his contract and level of play this season but as mentioned above there is still hope he comes around to better and more consistent play as the Celtics head to the playoffs. He was (is) such a wonderful talent I look forward to seeing him shine in the spotlight.

While I am on the subject of Hayward there is a newer and perhaps better version of him coming up the ranks. You heard it here first.

He is from Israel, Deni Avdija, like Gordon a smooth G/F who can do everything at 6'9". After watching him dominate at a recent tournament most scouts figure he will be a lottery pick in the 2020 draft. Exceptional foot speed, great first step, very good leaper and terrific agility, Avdija could be the next big thing.

His court awareness and overall play has drawn raves so someone to keep an eye on. He can pass shoot rebound etc. The whole package. Like Gordon he is a natural.

Two other names that might make an NBA roster down the road are 6'7" Mario Nakic and 6'9" Boris Tisma. Tisma has been compared to Toni Kukoc. I was a huge fan of Kukoc back when. Stylish to the max.

Luka Doncia with 35 pts, 10 rebounds and 6 assists tonight in a win. Yeah I have to say he doesn't deserve to be in the all star game.

What a joke! He is playing like the best player in the world at the moment! It really sucks he won't be there but nothing suprises me in
this caste sports world we live in.

Coming off a dud game against Oklahoma Sunday, Gordon Hayward rebounded with a solid and efficient 18 point game with half a dozen or so assists last night in a win against Cleveland. His up and down season continues but I am also detecting a bit of a trend. Kyrie Irving did not play last night and in general Gordon has had his best games with Irving out of the line up.

I think the reason is Hayward's game is based on fluid team play. Irving, like so many black NBA two guards, is a ball hog. Irving of course is a prolific scorer and the media sees him as the key cog to the team but one has to imagine it is tough to stay focused when a teammate dribbles around looking fore his shot disrupting the flow of his own offense.

Irving gets away with it because he can really score but when Utah was Gordon's team, the team relied more on team play rather than on the one on one exploits of a volume shooter. I guess what I am getting at is Hayward and Irving don't quite fit together as well as one would have hoped.

Have to wait and see how this comes out in the wash down the road but I for one won't be disappointed if Irving packs his bags.

Portland's Jake Layman had a big game last night albeit in a home loss. Layman had 25 points and 8 rebounds and played 33 minutes off the bench. Of course some of those points came on nice dunks.

Layman who has picked up his play of late has got me thinking and one player that comes to mind is Detlef Shrempf who was the exact same size-6'9" 215. A star college player out of Washington Detlef got off to a slow start his first few years in the league with Dallas. His first season was 1985-86 the last season Bird and Celtics won a title.

At the age of 26 Detlef got traded to the Pacers and his play picked up tremendously. Finally a starter he started putting up nice stats. Better yet a few years down the road he got traded again to Seattle and it was there he became a legitimate star as Seattle became a big contender.

Detlef, who was German of course, was very smooth and athletic like Layman. A better passer but I wonder if the NBA today would allow a player like Layman to grow into a star just like Detlef? I really enjoyed watching Shrempf play. He had a very long career.

But Portland just made a trade and there are already rumblings about Layman losing some time. Good grief. Layman is still just 24 but within the next three years we should be able to determine if Layman can become a star like Detlef. Perhaps like Detlef a trade would open up things for him. Or perhaps not. The NBA was much more white friendly back in the 80's and even the 90's.

Layman plays with two back court black ball hogs so ball movement and opportunities are often limited. And despite the two backcourt volume shooters who get a lot of media love, Portland bounces out of the playoffs in routine fashion every year. Disjointed teams like Portland often fail at the end of the day.

Time will tell with Jake Layman but I fear unlike Detlef, there is less allowance now to have white bench players grow into stars over the course of several years. The NBA is focused on bringing in very young black "stars" and letting them garner the big minutes and receive all the patience necessary in building a long career.

Very irritating caste driven system that is in place in the NBA.

One of the things I used to like about basketball was watching a young player improve throughout college and the pros. Too often now it is give the job to the black youngsters and everyone else move aside.

See below Shrempf's NBA stats and you will see how he was allowed to blossom over time.

A bunch of trades happened at the deadline that were favorable for white players!
First off PF Mike Muscala 6'11 240 has been traded to the Clippers along with Wilson Chandler and Landry Shamet, for behemoth Boban Marjanovic 7'3 280 and Tobias Harris. Muscala now should start next to Danilo Galinari in LA with Harris gone, and Boban should see increased mins in Philly.

In Detroit G/F Svi Mykhaliuk 6'8 210 has a chance to enter their rotation with Luke Kennard possibly starting, after Reggie Bullock was traded to LA.

Portland traded SG Nik Stauskas 6'6 205 and Wade Baldwin to Cleveland for Rodney Hood. With Jake Layman breaking out as Portland's 6th man Stauskas was expendable, but Stauskas has a chance to see heavy rotation mins in Cleveland!

Memphis is reportedly close to moving Marc Gasol and Chandler Parsons, with the Knicks also set to move Enes Kanter so stay tuned.

Huge news. Porzingis has been traded to the Mavs and he will play with Doncic in the near future! Hope Mark Cuban and the Mavs sign him up for a long term contract after the season is over! Imagine
how good this team can be with two of the best young european basketball players to ever play the game of basketball. Exciting times indeed for the state of Texas.

I completely missed the Porzingis trade to Dallas last week. This is really exciting. Its been a while since there has been an NBA team that CF can legitimately get behind! Any word when he will be healthy?

Also F Ryan Anderson 6'10 240 has been traded to Miami, after having a short leash for Phoenix and not playing a single game in over 2 months. Hopefully Anderson atleast shows he's still capable of being a rotation player for the Heat.

Dirk needs to average 5 points a game over the final 30 games to pass Wilt Chamberlain on the alltime scoring list. He’s only averaging 4.2 so far this season, so it will be close.

Pelicans just traded Mirotic to the Bucks!
The Pelicans must be blowing up their franchise. The whole "Unibrow" drama is the sad state of the WWE like NBA. I can't recall any other sport where an impending free agent can dictate where he will play before free agency and that no matter what management does he won't sign with the team when he is eligible for free agency.

Like I have stated many times the commissioner needs to step in and not allow the collusion and tampering of the Lakers and other big name franchises in landing big name free agents or the league will be viewed as a complete joke by the fans of the have not cities.

Ya Pelicans are in turmoil. First they're being run by the long time owners widow and she has New Orleans Saints Football Advisors also working for The Pelicans. Now chatter is Seattle wants an NBA Team again and pressure is on the sickly Silver to move them to the Northwest.

Doncic became the youngest teenager in nba history to record 3 triple doubles. What can't this wonder kid do? Amazing rookie season. Even though he was snubbed from the nba all star
game as a starter or reserve, he will be competing in the skills competion on All Star Saturday Night next weekend. I wish him good luck in that competion which is fun and you have to be
a very good all around player to succeed there.

Nowitzki and a few other of our guys are in the three point competition.

What complete bullshi#. Very clear why he was snubbed. The racist NBA can go to hell!

I mentioned this a while ago but the Gordon Hayward/ Celtics matter might have come into better focus last night. Hayward was superb. Very few missed shots including 6-7 on three pointers he finished with a cool 26 as the Celtics beat Philadelphia in Philly.

OK he had a good game you say. Well Kyrie was missing and the Celtics are 8-2 without him and Gordon has had some stellar games without Irving in the line up. The HC likes to put Hayward in the 'decision" making role where he distributes it or tries to score. People get so caught up in the "physical " nature of players but to me the most underrated part of championship play is the mental side. Tom Brady anyone?

Irving is not a bad player and he is an excellent one on one player but it does make you wonder about the lack of ball movement and fluid play when he is out there. Maybe they work these kinks out by year end maybe not. I prefer a fluid ball movement type of offense and the classic Larry Bird era Celtics was a prime example of that.

Anyway the Celts play again tonight and Hayward has struggled putting together back to back big games. On the other hand Irving is out of the lineup again tonight.

Even the media is starting to discuss this "Irving" trend with the Celtics.

With Gordon Hayward "conducting" the offense in a sense the Celtics pulled away from the Pistons. Hayward was solid all night and finished with a 18 points, 8 assists and five rebounds. Irving didn't play and a lot of Celtics scored. The pattern continues.

Also worth noting Jake Layman scored 17 points off the bench as Portland beat Golden State.

Lauri Markkanen is coming on like gangbusters lately. He is averaging 24.4 and 13.2 rebounds his last five games. He will join Luka Doncic and a few other white youngsters in the Rising Stars game on Friday night.

I'm looking forward to watching the rising stars all star game on Friday. We have several guys here are going to be all stars for many years to come. Luka has mvp ability without a doubt. He is now
the youngest player in nba history to reach 1100 points!!! Simply incredible what this 19 year old teen sensation is doing! :)

Even though the world team lost for the first time in a while it was nice to see a team mostly led by white stars. Markenen had 21 pts, Doncic 13 and many others
played great. Here is the box score. They were fun to watch play together. The europeans are really making a mark in the nba. Hope this trend continues!

Doesn't look like the same hand gesture as the statue, the statue has index and middle finger up. The sign the players are making is what a ref does to signal a made 3 pointer.

It pisses me off when we have a scorer with unbelievable hops and he is wasting his rookie season away in the NBA G League. I thought after the draft Utah might be a good landing spot but they
have not given Grayson Allen a chance to contribute. He couldn't even compete in the dunk contest. Hope he can eventually get a chance to get back in the nba and become the star he was meant
to be. What a waste of talent with a guy that can jump out of the gym!

Bojan Bogdanovic had 37 pts last night in a big win over the Timberwolves. He is quietly having a very good season. Watching him and Sabonis make the Pacers
a little more bearable. No doubt in my mind that Sabonis should be starting. he puts up double/doubles nightly off the bench but he is a starter and he could make
the all star game if given the chance.
