6'6" 2019 Lithuanian Martynas Arlauskas has signed with Gonzaga. Reports suggest a very fluid athletic swingman with a 37 inch vertical. He joins PG Brock Ravet. So all in all good job Gonzaga.

2021 6'3" SG Carson McCorkle has given an early commitment to Tony Bennett and Virginia. Great early pick up. Ranked in the top 50 McCorkle has a ton of potential as he can shoot the lights out and is an extremely impressive leaper.

Joe Girard a sharp shooting 2019 guard decided to stay home and will attend Syracuse. HC Jim Boeheim who has been around since the First World War continues to grab some white talent. Syracuse usually has a decent white player or two on their roster every year which is more than many high profile programs. Girard himself even sited former Orange stars like Gary McNamara and Eric Devendorf.

Boeheim's son will be on this season's roster.

This Joe Girad can shoot like Fredette. He has as natural a shot as I've seen in a long time. Hope he can excel at the college level as his height could hurt him as far as playing in the nba. Regardless this kid belongs at the next level. He is the state of New Yorks All Time Leading Scorer ever as he broke Lance Stephensons Record. The kid is electric.

He averaged 50 ppg as a junior?? WTF?? This kid must be amazing. I am a Syracuse fan so I am psyched. I can't recall a H S player ever averaging 50 ppg.

Will Baker a 7'0" C out of Texas decided to stay home and signed with the University of Texas. A highly regarded top 10-15 prospect out of the class of 2019, Baker projects as an old fashioned very skilled big man with a soft shooting touch that extends out beyond the paint. Excellent post passer too and can block out and rebound.

Solid pick up for the Longhorns.

Two more big men from the class of 2019 have committed.

6'11" C Issac Johnson out of Utah surprised people after announcing he would attend Oregon. A solid top 75 prospect Johnson is a Mormon and will take a two year mission.

6'10" PF Drew Timme is a top 40 player who committed to Gonzaga. Described as a ferocious competitor and free spirit Timme will add a lot of excitement to that Catholic school in the northwest. Has very good athletic ability and possible pro potential down the road since he is very skilled in many facets.

While the NFL caste fest played out last night I turned my attention elsewhere and to my surprise ESPN2 had on a HS game featuring Nico Mannion from the class of 2019. Also in the game was the number 2 or 3 rated player in the class of 2020 SG Jalen Green. Mannion is ranked between 10 -15 in his class. Both put up big numbers but whereas Green fit the caste stereotype of the wiry athletic black dunker the skill set difference between the two was noticeable. In fact you would never know Mannion was the lower rated player watching the game.

Mannion's team won going away as he scored 33 points from all over and dished out 12 assists. He showed off an array of dazzling skills and quick athleticism.

He reminds me a bit of Christian McCaffrey in that he represents a glimmer of hope in a position that is scarce for white players in the upper levels. I cannot think of a white NBA young star under the age of 26 or so that is 6'5" or under playing in the NBA today. In fact most of the white players that size come off the bench or just sit on the bench.

Whether Mannion is somewhat of a "savior" in that regard is hard to tell at this stage.

In the meantime there are some young draft picks that could emerge down the road but the overall situation with smaller white NBA players is as grim as I can ever recall.

[One other neat note about Mannion. He has a very cool nickname. The Ginga Ninja!! ]

I'm so excited about the future of watching both college and the nba. Guys like Matt McClung and Nico Mannion are changing peoples perceptions. These are
very athletic white guards who can dunk on you, dish it or shoot it. They are so exciting to watch. Think are a more athletic Stockton/Price/Nash guard. Not to
take anything away from them. Nico Mannion has earned the nickname of "The Red Mamba".

The 2019 McDonalds game edition features four white girls ( which is not awful and more than I anticipated) and the boys side will have two no brainers, PF Matthew Hurt (still unsigned) and PG Nico Mannion (Arizona).

Disappointing though that C Will Baker (Texas) wasn't invited. There was also some buzz for PF Drew Timme ( Gonzaga).

Well at least it is an improvement from last year where no white players were selected. Hurt and Mannion are NBA material.

Hurt will land with one of the big boys. Maybe Kansas or NC. Or Duke? Will find out soon.

Nico Mannion drops 57 pts on senior night. The kid just continues to impress! There is no better scorer in high school ball in my opinion and
he does it against good competition night after night. The University of Arizona is very luck to have him going their next year. They are average
this year and probably wont make the tournament. This kid will help them from day one.

it will be interesting to see what happens with Nico Mannion after the recent news involving Arizona. it appears that a postseason ban is sure to come after the NCAA found major violations. the firing of head coach Miller, who recruited Mannion, is likely to follow, as well, if predictions are correct. if both things hold true, Mannion will obviously be a highly sought after player, but most schools will be in a predicament having already solidified their recruiting class for 2019. where will Nico end up?

a long shot possibility would be Gonzaga, who doesn’t have a true point guard signed yet and lots of minutes available at the one. Brock Ravet is more of a combo guard who can play the point, but he’s a lights out scorer, so it’s possible that the Zags coaching staff may view him as an undersized two guard ... pure speculation on my part, of course. but if Nico wants to stay out West, that’s a pretty nice fit. also, Gonzaga already has 4 White players (of their 5) committed for 2019, and the class is regarded as their most talented group ever.

Nico Mannion led his HS team to their second consecutive state title. He dominated the tournament. He is the real thing and with Arizona having an off year look for this hometown hero to come to the rescue next season.

Not only is he a superb all around talent he knows how to win. Plus he is one of the most exciting young point white guard to hit the pike in a very long time.

Next up for Mannion is the McDonalds All American game.

Just to finish off the topic of girls HS prospects that I started in the college basketball thread Paige Bueckers and her team finally won the state championship last night. Paige however was ill and only scored 13 points. Every big time school is hot on her heels.

The best white girl prospect for the class of 2019 is F and ND signee Samantha Brunelle. She will play in the McDonalds All American game.

Also UCONN and a few other big schools are checking out PG Nika Muhl a dazzling talent from Croatia.

Also checking out schools is Poland G Anna Makurat. If one or both decide they will jump in for next season, class of 2019.

I had mentioned the transcendent 2020 talents of Paige Bueckers and Cameron Brink. Also right below them is a 5'7" dynamo PG cross over queen named Hailey Van Lith from the state of Washington. Like Bueckers I believe she is still undecided.

UCONN has hauled in another dazzling 2020 recruit. First was 5'11" Paige Bueckers the number one player in that class. Bueckers is ultra talented.

Now Geno went all the way over to Croatia to land PG Nika Muhl. Nika is a very flashy player. Only regret is will have to wait two seasons before they make their grand entrance. See Nika below.

I wish he was rated higher although he could jump from a three star to a four star prospect which could land him in the top 100 or even top 50 but I really like white leapers from the Rex Chapman School and 6'4" SG out of Texas Hayden Hefner has got the ups and the overall athletic ability to qualify for that school.

Needless to say one to keep an eye on from the class of 2020.

Looks like another promising prospect. I've read that he's already taken visits to Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Houston.

Virginia needed a Kyle Guy replacment, and thats literally almost what they'll get in Carson McCorkle. McCorkle 6'3 175 is slightly taller than Guy 6'2 185 with a similiar slender frame, I normally don't like6 comparing whites to whites but don't be surprised if McCorkle has close to the same career Guy had for Virginia!!

Same here athletic white SG's are my favorite type with guys like Pat Connaughton, Grayson Allen, Donte Divencenso, and Kevin Huerter my tab to watch.

But there is one type of player that beats high-flying SG's and that is high-flying PG's such as 3-star PG Caleb Grill. Grill 6'3 180 who decomitted from S Dakota St after he blew up as a Sr., is curently split between Kansas St and Iowa St. Whichever team wins him will be getting one of the more exciting PG's in 2019, as he dunks with ease and likes too alot. I seriously think he projects as a white Russell Westbrook!!

Thanks for the heads up Deceptive Speed. Never heard of Grill who was a high jumper on his HS track team. Makes a nice bookend to Mac McClung of Georgetown. High flying white PGs playing for major schools.

Elsewhere Killian Tillie of Gonzaga, like Kyle Guy, is testing the NBA waters and like Guy he is listed near the bottom, if that, of the second round. The best NBA move these two players can make is go back to school and improve their NBA stock.

Duke just got a commit from a high flying black 2019 SG. Cripes I hope Alex O'Connell doesn't have to play bench mop up man yet again.

Lot of white talent on Duke this season. I hope they get to flourish.

As for 2021 top 75-100 prospect VA commit Carson McCorkle there is a lot to like. Very good leaper and shooter. Slightly different than Guy but an undersized shooting guard just like Guy. Nice recruit by Tony Bennett. He isn't as highly rated as Guy was although he may shoot up the board. At one time he was in the top 25 so who knows going forward.

Mason Miller class of 2021 out of Memphis. Must be black. They all are out of that city. Why bother looking him up?

Well Mason is a lanky 6'9" SF/PF who is actually the son of former Florida/ NBA player Mike Miller. Miller married a Florida volleyball player which is why he has better hops than his dad. Not quite that type of prospect yet ( Mike Miller was a top 10 HS prospect out of South Dakota) but he is ranked in the top 75.

He also has tremendous upside so look for him to jump up the rankings in time.

Is he Mac McClung part II? Caleb Grill just signed with Iowa State. Eerie similarities between the two but most welcome if I must say so myself. Love it actually. Standing at the same height as Mac, Caleb is also known for his explosive leaping abilities. And like Mac, Grill was rated just outside the top 100 players in his class but like Mac he is a fast riser. So good news all around. See below article.

He very well could be another McClung! A couple other guys to look out for that fit the mold of a uber-athletic, smallish white guard are 2020 CG Noah Taitz, and 2021 PG Carter Whitt!

2020 SG Noah Taitz 6'3 175 a 4-star prospect out of Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas, NV. Ranked as the #34 SG in the nation, he's really more of a CG type that could be play high-major D1 PG easily. He holds 14 offers with a top-3 of USC, Washington, and Stanford, and he is ranked the #34 SG in the c/o 2020.
download (1).jpeg

2021 PG Carter Whitt 6'3 170 a 4-star prospect from Leesville Rd HS in Raleigh, NC. He is 2021's 5th ranked PG and #46 player overall, with 7 offers in the early going his top-3 are NC state, Ole Miss, and Virginia. He could have star potential similiar to Nico Mannion when its all said and done!

Worth noting 2021 VA commit Carson McCorkle has reclassified to the class of 2020. His status has dropped but he is still bubbling around the top 100. He is a very good athlete and I am surprised his ranking has dropped but then again one must always make room for the budding black players. Life just wouldn't be the same if that horse crap ever stopped.

After some painstaking investigation, I have come to the conclusion that rising 2021 C/PF 7'0" Chet Holmgren is white. He is very peculiar looking and I thought I better double check his background to make sure. His father is white and he played for Minnesota back when. That was the easy part. And after scoping out his volleyball playing sister who looks like a standard white person I felt more confident.

I think his mother is either part Jewish or 100%. I am pretty sure that is the case but even there I can't say absolutely for sure. But I am confident in the fact that Chet Holmgren is not mixed whether it be black or Hispanic. Whew what an ordeal trying to figure that out.

Anyway he is skinny as a rail and very lanky. He has been blocking shots at an enormous rate this spring. He has good springs and is very light on his feet. Plus he can nail three pointers.

Holmgren might shoot all the way into a top ten ranking when it is all said and done. A unique player with a lot of skills.
