I say 10.16 and 20.05. In competition, International and otherwise, the times posted are never adjusted for wind speed or track conditions. Only if the wind speed is too high, which simply negates records. Otherwise you get into RCSMAN "basic" times and such which mean next to nothing.

So far we have
Jacknyc 10.15 + ? = ?
FootballDad 10.16 + 20.05 = 30.21
lactaking 10.11 + 20.09 = 30.20
Izwal ? + ? = ?
Texas Flash 10.08 + 19.98 = 30.06
white lightning 10.14 + 20.23 = 30.37
Madara 10.11 + 20.17 = 30.28
sprintstar 10.15 + 20.25 = 30.40
trackster 10.13 + 19.99 = 30.12
RCSMAN 10.12 + 20.10 = 30.22
Elispeedster 10.20 + 20.2(0) = 30.4(0)
fernchris. 10.08 +20.10 = 30.18

FootballDad I hear you but we will be using the basic time calculator by the acknowledged experts(IAAF acknowledged) experts in the sport if wind is a factor. Since the venue is at only 65 m the only calculation will be for wind effect if any.

This link is from the same source that I provided earlier. It shows by table graph the measurements. I hope we can all agree, if not then we better hope the wind is 0.00.

This is all for fun, so it doesn't matter all that much to me. I just don't like adjusting times if wind speeds are within legal limits, after all, the officially recorded times aren't adjusted. Wind speed calculations have to assume that it is a consistent wind at all areas of the track and in all lanes. The swirl effect that you get from any venue with structures will make that impossible, not to mention that the wind itself is constantly changing and variable. The 200M is especially impossible to gauge as the athletes run in different directions in regards to the wind at the curve and the straight.

I feel you Dad. You are absolutely correct on the nuances of wind effects which those articles, several posts back, that I linked to go into heavy detail about. The 200 definitely is a more difficult environment to gauge.

I tell you what. I propose two contests. One "STRICT INTERPRETATIONISTS" who will be judged on the actual results. And for those of us who like to count the number of angels dancing on the head of a pin---"BASIC TIME CONVERSIONISTS."

here is a picture of Lemaitre with the left arm/shoulder movement that is actually pulling him backwards, if he was to turn his left hand more straight up and down bring his elbow out just a tad it would bring his arm back in a more straight path relaxing his arm and shoulder. He has excellent knee and leglift and his feet are straight ensuring a good landing on the balls of his feet which again allows for quicker contact with track ensuring a straighter path. Look at the feet of his competitors, the two in the picture are landing on the outsides of their feet which causes a pronating contact with track causing too much foot contact and too long of contact with track it is also quite nasty on the shins and knees overtime. This one of the many things I work on when training young(kids) sprinters. Shoulders, arms, knees and feet... it is alot harder to correct this in an adult sprinter after years of doing it.

Imagine yourself running the bend in a 200m sprint with every left arm movement pulling you backwards.

Cheers....

if anyone disagrees that is okay as well :)

Lemaitre's form on the turn of the 200m race is well known to be terrible.
The guy is talented, but hopeless at the same time.
Vicaut will destroy in the French 100m Championships this weekend.
I predict 10.15 for Lemaitre.

not only the bend in the 200m but in the straightaway in both 100m and 200m with his left shoulder and left arm/hand. It can cost a worldclass sprinter .05-.15 seconds depending on 100 or 200m, on lesser sprinters it can cost upwards of .15-.25 seconds. I hope he does well in the 100m but someone here said he was not running 200m at French Championships...hope he is not ducking. Yes Vicaut will be him handily.

It may be that once we see another couple of Euro sub 10ers Christophe will fade from our vision. We've been hanging our hopes on one peg.
The fact is - he's not an enthusiastic young buck anymore; rather than come out of an autistic-like shell he seems to have retreated further into it.
At first I thought he did have the wherewithal to succeed internationally but those hopes evaporated 3 years ago. To me it's as if he keeps competing because he's unable to tell people he's jack of it all. The closest thing to a smile I've witnessed from him in that time is that expression of relief if he puts in a half decent run.

Don't bother posting facts, as rcsman will just claim you are a ignorant xenophobe and that Master Pierre Caraz training supersedes everything, even common sense.

I think he is ducking Vicaut in the 200 as the 200 is Lemaitre's bread and butter and it would kill him to lose the 200 to Vicaut. The 100 is expected as Caraz already made it clear to Lemaitre years ago he could never beat the best in the 100...Gotta love that Caraz!

Its his own fault, after 5 years of excuses you would think he would have the intelligence to try a different method under a different coach etc, even for 1 year just to say 'hey I tried a different approach, it may or may not work, but at least I tried'.....he is so stuck up Caraz's crusty old ass.

Jimmy may break the Euro record today with a 9.82-9.85, and Lemaitre surprisingly looks pretty good with under 10.10...maybe there is a chance for me to eat my words. If Leamaitre can run a 9.99 today, legal, I will partially apologize to rcsman.

Vicaut wins in 9.88....leamitre decides to skip final? WTF?

Christophe Lemaitre has just began French championships in Angers with a victory in heats: 10″09 on 100 m (wind + 0,7 m/s). He achieves his first goal on these championships: get olympic standard on 100 m.
In the final, he could run faster, with Jimmy Vicaut, impressive (9″94 in heats, 9”88 in the final) but he withdraws because of a pain in the Achilles tendon.
“This time, that’s what I wanted, says Christophe on Canal + just after his heat. I worked well since the meeting in Nancy. It’s not perfect but it will be better later in the season.”

Hey RCSMAN,

If you have the possibility to talk to Christophe,
you can tell him, to press an onion on both sides of the Achilles tendon over night.
I have very good experiences with this recipe.

Ouch! Damn!
These sprinters put such high stresses on their limbs that they're always on the edge of disaster. If he seriously strained the Achilles, then how the hell will he run the 200 this weekend?
I hope they MRI it to be on the very safe side.

lactatking, I have never heard of using onions on Achilles strains, if you are being serious. how do you go about it? I have a kid I am training and he is suffering from Achilles strain.

Cheers...
