Feel free to add guys like Switzer, Berrios, VanDenberg etc to this thread. I was just going based purely off of week 1 production.

How about Nick Kurtz (BYU) 5 catches for 123 yards? Huge game.

Excellent job Leonardfan! How am i now just seeing all of this good info? I need to get my butt in gear! I just went straight to Week One thread with my(less) info...

Gehrig Deiter put on a show vs Tennesee!

Blazevich made a really nice TD catch...you should be seeing him in the NFL one day!

Nelson Spruce is a big time WR who should be drafted in the NFL! His QB sure needs some improvement

Max McCaffery (Duke) had 4 rec for 61 yards...Ryan Switzer was 6-57

Braxton Barrios had a quiet game

Trey Quinn(LSU/soph.) had their game cancelled bec of lightning...he's been compared to a faster/more athletic version of Brandon Stokely by an NFL scout ...his QB's played horrible last season...hopefully they can do a better job this season!

I am going to try and get a thread for rbs and add defensive stats to the 2015 defensive players thread over the course of the week as well.

I think our guys for the most part had a solid showing in the receiving department this week.

the best wide receiver in all of college football,* Eastern Washington's junior Cooper Kupp went for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns (from 18 and 73 yards) on 9 catches this week after going for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns (from on 15 catches last week against Oregon.

Kupp "overachieves." again. and scores. again.

during the game, Oregon's coaching staff referred to Kupp as "All Galaxy."

*this is the expert opinion of Jimmy Chitwood and does not reflect any of the afrocentric bullcrap foisted upon the masses by ESPN and other assorted ilk in the negrophile media

*******************************

Kupp's teammate, sophomore wideout Nic Sblendorio pulled in 10 catches for 158 yards today.

*******************************

Duke senior, Max McCaffrey had 2 catches for 51 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown. (as an aside, Duke's dual-threat quarterback Thomas Sirk put on a show! he accounted for 401 yards of offense and 4 touchdowns, throwing for 3 and running for another. i wonder if he has "dat upside?")

Ron Willoughby had game-highs of 8 catches and 80 receiving yards (and 1 touchdown) in the Buffalo loss against Penn State.

Alex Erickson had 5 catches for 73 yards and 4 punt returns for 72 yards (with a long of 35).

Nelson Spruce had a pedestrian (for him) game today: 6 catches, 64 yards, and 1 touchdown.

River Cracraft had a BIG game for Washington State in a narrow win over Rutgers, finishing with 8 catches for 121 yards and 1 touchdown.

White receivers played well for Arkansas, despite their surprising loss against Toledo. White Hogs accounted for 17 catches and 259 yards, led by all-everything tight end Hunter Henry's 8 catches for 117 yards. slot receiver Drew Morgan had 5 catches for 77 yards, and wideout Cody Hollister (who is the team's best blocker on the outside) added 4 catches for 65 yards.

Iowa's Matt VandeBerg totaled 9 catches for 114 yards and 1 touchdown in the rivalry game win over Iowa State. fleet-footed teammate Riley McCarron pulled in a beautiful 25-yard touchdown, and was BARELY overthrown on what would've been a looooong touchdown earlier.

Kent State tailback Nick Holley had 2 catches for 22 yards. they both went for touchdowns, which is why i'm mentioning him in this thread. (he also added 68 yards rushing on 9 carries.)

another tailback, North Dakota State's Chase Morlock also had a MONSTER receiving game today. Morlock finished with 7 catches for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns (with a long of 55). he added 76 yards rushing on 8 carries (with a long of 40). what a day he had!

Trent Taylor, La Tech's quick as a hiccup slot receiver, had 9 catches for 119 yards and 1 touchdown in their shootout loss to Western Kentucky.

in the win, Western Kentucky's talented tight end Tyler Higbee had 7 catches for 88 yards.

edited to add: South Dakota State's premiere outside receiver Jake Wieneke continues to light up opposing dark secondaries. he amassed 205 yards and 2 touchdowns on 11 catches today after going for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns on 8 catches last week.

**********************

BYU's Mitchell Juergens just pulled in an 84-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown on the opening drive of the night against Boise State. now i'm off!

thanks. i do what i can, when time permits.

for those who missed it, there was a VERY exciting game late last night between Boise State and BYU in Provo. in a game where both defenses clamped down on the running game (only 64 yards on 31 carries for Boise and 72 yards on 39 carries for BYU) and repeatedly punished the quarterbacks (5 combined interceptions and 8 combined sacks), a handful of explosive plays in the passing game proved to be the difference on the scoreboard.

mitchell%20juergens%20touchdown_zpsefhbpuqy.jpg

Mitchell Juergens deceives his way into the endzone

relevant to this thread, a week after the Cougars' Mitch Mathews caught a 42-yard Hail Mary to beat Nebraska, BYU's Mitchell Juergens did roughly the same thing to beat Boise State on Saturday night, catching a desperation heave from Tanner Mangum in the end zone. Juergens capped a spectacular game with a 35-yard touchdown catch with 45 seconds remaining on fourth-and-7 to lift the Cougars to a 28-24 lead.

the former walk-on (he just received a scholarship a couple of weeks ago) had 4 catches for 172 yards and 2 touchdowns. the first was from 84 yards out, and the second was a thing of beauty where the "gym rat" outleapt two "real" affletes for the go-ahead touchdown.

Boise State's talented wideout Thomas Sperbeck finally got back on track last night. he finished with 7 catches for 99 yards in the Broncos' win. teammate Holden Huff had 4 catches for 56 yards and 1 touchdown from his tight end spot.

madison%20mangum_zpshv5krefh.jpg

Idaho State's Madison Mangum is the big play threat for the Bengals, and it was clear that Boise State wanted to take him away as their coverage scheme was focused on him. despite their extra attention and several forced throws in his direction by ISU's two inexperienced quarterbacks, Mangum finished with 7 catches for 98 yards in the loss. he's a good player.

Western Michigan's fleet-footed wideout Daniel Braverman had a BIG game today in helping lead the Broncos to a win. he finished with 14 catches for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns.

********************

Cooper Kupp continues to be simply unstoppable. he finished today's shootout win against Montana State with 12 catches for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns. one "wonders" when the NFL scouts will take notice of his talent.

EWU teammate Nic Sblendorio continues to flash playmaking prowess at the other wideout spot, snagging 3 balls for 120 yards and 1 touchdown (from 78 yards out).

Alabama wideout (formerly of Oregon State) Richard Mullaney had a good game despite the loss to Ole Miss. the graduate transfer finished with 7 catches for 61 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a spectacular hurdle of an Ole Miss defensive back for the Tide's first touchdown of the night.

*********************

Mitch Mathews, the 6-foot-6 high flyer for BYU pulled in 9 balls for 84 yards and 1 touchdown in a close loss at UCLA.

*********************

trent%20taylor_zpsc1hr8gaw.jpeg

La Tech's Trent Taylor had a big game in a thrilling 3-overtime loss to Kansas State. the slot machine finished with game-highs of 12 catches and 148 yards for 1 touchdown.

kody%20cook_zpson77a2ud.jpg

K State's Kody Cook was the Wildcats' leading receiver, finishing the game with 4 catches for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns, including the game-winner (pictured above).

brendan%20cope_zpslgjrsb2d.jpeg

Ohio's Brendan Cope provided a big spark in the Bobcats' lightning-delayed game. *pun* He finished with 4 catches for 101 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown. (he also had a 53-yarder called back due to an illegal formation penalty.)

Cooper Kupp stands alone as the nation's best

yes, i said it.

Cooper Kupp is THE best wide receiver in college football today, regardless of the level. the numbers he is putting up are simply phenomenal.

as of this post, here's what he's done:

31 career games
233 receptions for 3,748 yards, and 45 touchdowns
18 100-yard games
has scored at least 1 touchdown in 27 of his 31 games
15 catches for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns at Oregon (Sept. 5)
First-team All-American in both 2013 and 2014
2013 Jerry Rice Award winner

already holds 6 FCS records, 4 school records, and a Big Sky conference record

this is after just 3 games into his junior year ...

this season in those 3 games: 36 catches, 626 yards, and 8 touchdowns. averaging 208.7 yards-per-game and 17.4 yards-per-catch.

he is peerless.

almost overlooked in last week's games was the performance of a couple of Wyoming wideouts in a loss at Washington State.

junior Tanner Gentry pulled in 7 balls for 127 yards and 1 touchdown. running mate, 6-foot-6 junior Jake Maulhardt had a career day, with 10 grabs for 113 yards and 1 touchdown. it wasn't enough for the Cowboys to pull out a win, but it was a nice day for the duo.

It's pretty astonishing seeing a decent number of our guys put up big stats considering they are all victims of systematic discrimination in the recruiting process.

At this point we can project a few 1000 yard receiving seasons which is always a good thing.

JC, you are absolutely correct regarding Cooper Kupp. He is the best WR in the country. As
always I love the write ups with images.

some of the top receiving performances by our guys this week include:

thomas%20sperbeck%20virginia_zpshiqshlrk.jpg

wide receiver Thomas Sperbeck (Boise State) hauled in 5 catches for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns, including this spectacular grab with the defensive back hanging all over him (who was, in fact, called for pass interference, if i recall correctly): http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=13741320

jake%20roh_zpsrsuvijdy.jpeg

Boise State tight ends also had a big night. Jake Roh (above) caught 5 balls for 48 yards, and Holden Huff had 1 catch for 47 yards.

ryan%20switzer%20delaware_zpsd75vnkam.jpg

slot machine Ryan Switzer (UNC) had 5 catches for 89 yards and 1 touchdown, a beautiful 63-yard display of tackle-breaking, open-field-running after the catch. you can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R492XTsGVQM

cam%20serigne%20indiana_zps6yqxrnhd.jpg

Wake Forest sophomore tight end Cam Serigne had a nice outing, with 5 catches for 72 yards against Indiana.

max%20morrison%20memphis_zpsyxdfcxgv.jpg

Max Morrison grabbed 9 passes for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns, including this pretty bomb against the affletes of Memphis.

Jesse Kroll had 6 catches for 86 yards in a Central Michigan loss at Michigan State.

the Nebraska-Southern Miss game featured a trio of White wideouts who topped the century mark: Nebraska's Jordan Westerkamp (11 catches, 118 yards, and 1 touchdown; he has at least 1 td catch in 5 consecutive games) and Brandon Reilly (3 catches, 112 yards; two of those catches would've been touchdowns if they hadn't been severely underthrown), and Southern Miss' stellar Casey Martin (8 catches, 102 yards, 2 touchdowns).

Casey Martin

Andy%20Janovich%20quotfullbackquot_zpsarlqlvif.jpg

Nebraska "fullback" Andy Janovich (above) also had a nice day. after not touching the ball through the team's first three games (and most of his career), he had 5 carries for 68 yards and 1 catch for 53 more. perhaps he should get more touches ...

Gehrig Dieter caught 10 balls for 96 yards as Bowling Green knocked off Purdue.

tight end George Kittle caught 2 balls for 62 yards and 1 touchdown for Iowa.

Daniel%20Braverman%20ohio%20state_zpshrpbl9mj.jpg

the nation's "best" defense had no answer for the "deceptive" speed of Western Michigan's Daniel Braverman, who hauled in 10 catches for 123 yards, including a 55-yard touchdown catch-and-run which left the affletes with a lovely view:

daniel%20braverman%20ohio%20state%202_zps3emoln1q.jpg

apparently, this is what "deceptive" speed looks like

dan%20vitale%20ball%20state_zps9abwed4x.jpg

Northwestern superback Dan Vitale lived up to his name against Ball State, pulling in 5 passes for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Wisconsin's Alex Erickson had a nice day, collecting 9 passes for 87 yards.

La Tech's Trent Taylor continues to put up impressive numbers, catching 7 balls for 86 yards against FIU.

one of the nation's most complete tight ends, Western Kentucky's Tyler Higbee snared 4 throws for 55 yards and 2 scores.

tight end Matt Weiser (10 catches, 131 yards, 1 touchdown) and wideout Ron Willoughby (10 catches, 122 yards) had big days for Buffalo in a losing effort.

tanner%20gentry_zpsc6hvruvg.jpeg

Wyoming's Tanner Gentry keeps making big plays for the Cowboys, collecting 9 balls for 130 yards and 1 touchdown in a loss to New Mexico. Wyoming tight end Jacob Hollister also had a big day in the loss, with 5 catches for 75 yards and 1 touchdown.

Stanford's stellar tight end Austin Hooper had 2 catches for 50 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown.

Nelson Spruce had yet another productive outing. the "below average" athlete "somehow" manages to always be open, totaling 5 catches for 80 yards. freshman teammate Jay Macintyre is a youngster to keep an eye on. he pulled in 3 balls for 53 yards and 1 score.

britain%20covey%20oregon_zpskujk2svu.jpg

Utah's electric Britain Covey had just 3 catches against Oregon, but they went for 55 yards and 2 touchdowns.

drew%20morgan%20texas%20aampm_zpsnsybazfj.jpg

Arkansas' Drew Morgan had an impressive outing against Texas A&M, finishing the game with 155 yards and 1 touchdown on 8 catches. he accounted for almost 70% of the Razorbacks' passing attack in his first-ever game as the featured wideout. one "wonders" why he's not been a more central component of the passing game before now ...

by his standards White Rice had a poor outing in his most recent game, finishing with "meager" totals of 10 catches, 133 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

Cooper Kupp's play thus far this season has been so stellar despite playing with a first-year quarterback, those numbers actually lower his per-game averages in every category! he is simply THE best. period.

cooper%20kupp_zpsmvewwusd.jpg

Cooper Kupp stands alone as the nation's best

yes, i said it. again.

Cooper Kupp is THE best wide receiver in college football today, regardless of the level. the numbers he is putting up are simply phenomenal.

to update his totals, here's what he's done through 4 games of his junior season:

32 career games
243 receptions for 3,881 yards, and 47 touchdowns
19 100-yard games
has scored at least 1 touchdown in 28 of his 32 games
15 catches for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns at Oregon (Sept. 5)
First-team All-American in both 2013 and 2014
2013 Jerry Rice Award winner

already holds 6 FCS records, 5 school records, and 2 Big Sky conference records (he now owns the career touchdown receptions mark for both school and conference)

this season in 4 games: 46 catches, 759 yards, and 10 touchdowns. averaging 189.9 yards-per-game and 16.5 yards-per-catch.

he is peerless.

Eastern Washington has a bye next week.
