That goal by James has to be the strike of the World Cup thus far. It reminded me of the interception of Jason Sehorn several years ago in a playoff game in the NFL. Total situational awareness and athleticism to go the job done. Outstanding!!!

a better angle: http://gfycat.com/YearlyFabulousCaiman

very few shots from long distance went in from the beginning of the world cup, they hit the bar or the post very often but few went it
it might be one of the first to go in

Costa Rica look pretty good from what I've seen. Given how mediocre Greece has performed I think Costa Rica will probably win this game.

like karagounis said before the world cup:

"Sometimes it’s good because whether or not they praise or respect you, the truth is on the pitch. For the last ten years, this is where we have answered our critics. I think whoever doesn’t respect us will pay for it. It’s best not to cross us. We know who we are and what we can do. If we stay together as a team, we can achieve big things. "

Yes,they have been incredibly consistent over a decade and have also won an actual trophy in the meantime, something which teams with so many 'magic-blacks' like England,Portugal and France have failed to achieve.

Liberals,Leftists and their Jewish masters must hate Greece!:smokin:

I've been concerned about the temperature in Fortaleza for the Netherlands v Mexico match. It's not as bad as the forecast but at 29 Celsius it's still pretty hot. Unlike the Dutch the beaners are used to playing at high temperatures.

Greece has been mediocre. They only qualified in a weak group because of an injury time penalty and poor Ivory Coast finishing. But they played well two years ago at the European Championships (though robbed by the officiating), they are experienced, and most importantly, they defend well. I guess we'll find out today if Costa Rica are for real.

James Rodriquez's goal was the best of the tournament. He created it out of nothing. But when Pekerman took him off with Uruguay dominating play and having a corner it reminded me of his bad substitutions against Germany at World Cup 2006. What if Uruguay had scored from that corner? They'd already come close and there was still time. Two quick goals and Columbia would've been playing extra time without their main goal scorer.

Guess my source was wrong about the temperature. (I thought the internet never lied). The commentator just said it was 38C!

I'm rooting for Mexico. I won't support any European team with non Whites. I don't think you realize the negative implications of their success, not that my cheering has any influence at all.

Its two non-whites,and really both are nowhere near being 'stars'.
If even black was a 'star' as it is in Italy's case, there's no way I would support them.

Infact, both the blacks playing for Holland are universally viewed as weak-links.

I can understand your sentiments,though.

At least one of their black starters is playing because Kevin Strootman and Rafael Van der Vaart were ruled out of the World Cup with injuries.

It sucks Holland has black players, but as the Philosopher said, I don't think anybody is gonna be attributing their success to the their two black guys when they have Robben, Van Persie, etc. Everybody watching the game still sees 9 whites guys out there for the Dutch as well, you know. This is the whitest Dutch team (in terms of starters) in awhile.

Yes again that too is a factor, and trust me anyone who follows soccer is well aware of the above.

The blacks are,as I have stated, viewed as weak-links by the British media, public alike.

Precisely, and apart from Argentina, this team is tied with Germany for the title of 'Second whitest team left in the WC'.

And whether we like it or not, this team pretty much represents the Dutch population....Netherlands is roughly 20% non-white.

The Mexicans are doing the same thing they did against Brazil: Long distance shots at every opportunity. Fortunately for Brazil they kept missing the target. The Dutch haven't been so fortunate.

They definitely are again today.. Depay, Indi and Wijnaldum have done exactly nothing today. I think I've heard Wijnaldum's name about 1 time in the 2nd half... he's been a total non factor. The Dutch could sure use Strootman instead of this bum right now.

Sneijder has had a poor WC too.

He definitely has; I thought he'd do at least decent. Huntelaar comes on for Van Persie; let's see if he can do anything. Van Persie was really quiet today as well.

Like I was saying Sneijder is having a great WC.

Wesley Sneijder with the goal for the Dutch!!!! I'll be happy to eat my words with that one.

Its crazy!
Van Gaal now puts Huntelaar on for the first time this WC,at the time of crisis!

Then why on earth did he always use Lens earlier?!!:mad2:

I bet to gave Lens a chance to unlock his unlimited potential. :icon_rolleyes:

Huntelaar's way better than Lens is. he should've been in the group stage games at some point.

If you are white, or even black, in the American South West stay off the streets today. There'll be lots of angry Mexicans out and about spoiling for a fight.

Yes,but we know that Lens is athletic, skilful, fast and physical :lie:.

Huntelaar made a difference,he was better than RVP,and boy had he not been on the field,Kuyt would have to take that penalty.
