Earlier this month the 25-year-old Artur Noga missed out on the 110m Hurdles final at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow by just one hundredth of a second. But on home soil in Warsaw, he was a clear winner, crossing the finish line more than a quarter of a second ahead of Hungary’s Balazs Baji.
Noga’s time of 13.26 was a Polish record. The previous mark of 13.27 had stood to Artur Kohutek since 1997 with Noga tying it last year.

Another young one in the decathalon to watch out for. Thanks for posting that. I have high hopes for Gunar Nixon of the U.S. Hardee has been outstanding but this kid could end up being better.
Richard Kilty won a double recently running 10.32 and 20.54 to win both of his races.
Alot of the times are slowing down as many sprinters have already called it a year. Hoping Gemeli can run a p.b. on Thursday in the 100.
The Big Meet coming up in Berlin in another week will probably be just about the last big meet of the year. Hoping Reus and Keller can put up some nice times again.

Other than Gemeli tommorow night, the other guy I want to see continue to shine is Menkov. The worlds best long jumper and a guy who has
a realistic chance of breaking the world record someday. He totally dominated the diamond league this year and is the world champion winning gold in Moscow. Here is a great article about this 22 year old stud who has the longest jump in the world this year & it's not even close for 2nd.

It was a good meet. Gemeli finished 7th in the 100 but ran a new s.b. of 10.06 in the race. Bolt won but not by much over his teammate. He is probably off the flinstone vitamins and yam diet now.
Boderenko won the high jump and continues to dominate the world. He looked tired though so on attempts at a new world record. Maybe next year he can take it for himself.
Shubenkov finished 3rd in the 110 hurdles in 13.25 after finishing sloppy. Noga of Poland was on his heels running a 13.29 which is back to back races in the 13.20's for him. Maybe something to build on for next year.
Pavel Maslak finished 3rd in the 400 meters with Santos 4th. The Borlee Brothers were further back and looked only average today. Pavel Maslak looks to be on the verge of becoming a household name. He ran 44.91 and he now runs in the 44's with alot more ease. He is only 22 years of age and I feel with a couple more years of strength training, this kid will move into the top four 400 meters guys in the world. I really think that he should continue to run deuces as well to keep his speed. The 400 is such a combo of speed and endurance. You have to have just enough of both to be successful. Maslak is amazing and will continue to suprise people.

This Sunday is the ISATF Meet in Berlin Germany. This is the one to watch guys. Hopefully I can find a live link. Verena Sailer is hoping to dip under 11 seconds. Then Martin Keller and Julien Reus have another opportunity to try and make up for Moscow. I would love to see these guys go sub 10.10 again. It is going to be their last races of the summer. Why not go out with a bang? Hoping for warm weather, a light tail wind and fast times on the track in Germany this weekend!:rockon:

This news comes from an english athletics track board and twitter. Richard Kilty ran a new p.b. in the 100 meters today of 10.10 with 0 wind. Wow is that fast. If only he would have been allowed to run some indivdual events in Moscow. He finished 2nd in the 200 in the trials but UK Athletics took the 1st and 3rd place finisher to compete in the 200 at Moscow. How does that work? They probably would have done the same thing to him in the 100. UK Athletics needs to get off their high horse and see that Kilty has most potential of any of their sprinters outside of Gemeli. Even Dasolou despite going sub 10, he gets hurt alot and can't run rounds let alone run a 200! Way to go Kilty.
10.10 is a big improvement from 10.23 - in the range of Gemili's 10.05. IAAF have not posted it yet. WL, do you have a link for this result?

The race took place in Hexam, England. It is now on the official and there was no wind. Here is a link to the top 30 euro times from this season. I'm so happy for Richard Kilty as he has worked very hard to get here. I wish UK Athletics would wake up and realize how good he is.

Thanks WL for the European link. Also the IAAF has now posted Kilty's time. But the British public is being kept in the dark - neither the BBC Sport web site or the Athletics Weekly site have made any comment about Kilty's run; nor that he is now one of the top ten UK 100/200 performers of all time.

kilty will have to do the indoors over 60 meters ..and be consistent ...he has 6.50 potential ..no doubt and he will prove it .... uka respect their white athletes ..they just have to be consistent.. and thankfully chambers is soon to be gone .......think about it ...kilty gemili. robertson and the allan wells protege...a white 4 by 100 actually capable of something......

10.18 for Angel David Rodriguez (Spain) today in Rieti, Italy.
Times at Rieti are usual fast because of the altitude, but still a good time.
I think he also ran a 10.15 earlier this year.
He had a great indoor season before he was injured.
I think if he hadn't been injured, he would have had a very good outdoor season as well. After Lemaitre and Gemeli, I think he would have been the #3 white European in the 100m this year. He's in his 30s now, but maybe he'll be around for the Euro Championships next year.

Serhiy Smelyk ran another new p.b. of 20.39 in the 200 yesterday. He has had a very nice season. Even Mateo Galvan of Italy ran a 20.50 to also set a new p.b. It's great to see a few guys still run fast at the very end of the season. Congrats to both of these guys.
