This is the time of year when NFL coaches praise to the sky even the most obscure players. But not Jets DC Mike Pettine, who disparages Eric Smith, the easy goat for the team's defensive falloff last year, because we all know how extremely rare it is when black DBs "blow coverages." The very talented Jim Leonhard is still a free agent with apparently no team interested in signing him. So it looks like the Jets will go from starting 2 White safeties to none. Guess that's part of Rex Ryan trying to re-establish his "street cred" with the locker room.

Jets DC Mike Pettine suggested that S Eric Smith will play primarily as a reserve in 2012. Following a string of blown coverages, Smith was a media and fan punching bag last season. "You'll love Eric Smith at 300 snaps," Pettine said. "You don't like him at 1,000." Smith is expected to return to special teams while rotating in to give starters LaRon Landry and Yeremiah Bell a breather.

Rex Ryan is a dope. Calling himself the best defensive coach in the league. Some people never learn to keep their foot out of their mouths.

In Ryan's case, there's not enough room for another foot in his mouth since his wife's foot is already in it.

It makes me so angry seeing what's happening to Tim Tebow. After the amazing season he just had not only does he get traded but he's not even sent there to play quarterback. All I keep hearing about is him being on the punt team. How do you go from leading the worst team in the NFL to the playoffs and winning a playoff game to being placed on the punt team. It's just sad. Meanwhile it seems like I see sCam Newton and Robert Griffin in every television commercial . They're being promoted as the new faces of the league.

From the way Rex Ryan talked, Tim would only be on the punt team for fakes, but of course you have to have some plays where he is in and its just a punt if you want to fake as well, some have even suggested that the talk of him playing special teams is just to throw teams off guard. He mainly mentioned Tim running, repeatedly saying something like that he is 250 pounds and how are you going to take someone like that down. What he said is true, he is a much better version of LeGarrett Blount.

I am optimistic that Tebow will be used quite a bit. I think Rex has become desperate in finding a way to beat Bellicheck. His defenses can't stop him even though he has one of the best corners in the NFL (well they stopped them once, the year Gronk was a rookie and Welker wasn't 100 percent from his knee). He realizes that his offense is not going to outscore the Patriots with Mark Sanchez alone, so he took a page out of Bellicheck's book and picked up a very talented White player that is versatile, that can play quarterback, tailback etc. His throwing still isn't that great but its getting better, and its better than many of the black quarterbacks that have started in the league, plus his running ability will keep defenses close to the box leaving him with single coverage.

ESPN aired a 60 minute special on the Jet's training camp, well that is what it was supposed to be but it was mainly talking about Tebow with a few clips from training camp. So far Tebow has only taken snaps from under center throwing the ball with Ryan throwing all kind of exotic blitzes at him. The one fair person on the show said that Tebow looked good at times but made a some mistakes, which is expected because its training camp. He had many good things to say about Tebow and spoke of his versatility and saying all the positions he could play, which included "single wing" tailback. The other people would have you think Tebow struggled all day and Sanchez had a perfect day.

I mean honestly if you look at the roster it is easy to see that Tebow will be running the ball quite a bit. Shonne Greene is not a featured back, worse than what Thomas Jones was (go ahead and try to find a Thomas Jones highlight on youtube, really none despite the fact that he broke 10k, just one that isn't impressive), he can't get any yards by himself, can't make one unblocked defender miss either by shiftiness or power, ranked 35th by football outsiders despite rushing for 1k. The guy they drafted runs a 4.7 40 and ran through gaping holes in college on the zone read. They have no third down back, Greene is mediocre as a receiver in the backfield and can't pass block. Tebow can probably catch, there aren't many White guys who can't. I am sure he can pick up the blitz, the only thing that would need to be worked on is technique. There have been talks of using Tebow as a traditional halfback but of course it is met by "no way he can only be a wildcat qb". Teammates keep insisting there is no qb controversy or any type of competition.

Its going to be similar to 2006 at UF with Chris Leak/Tim Tebow. Where is Leak now? Gone and forgotten.

Overall I think the Jets will make the playoffs with Tebow being a key factor in them winning, but they still won't get past the Patriots. They might beat them once in the regular season but highly doubt that it will be twice, if it is it won't be in the post season.

Here's an article that I saw earlier today on Yahoo sports that I found particularly amusing. I really don't see Sanchez, the great Hispanic hope, getting benched anytime soon, especially with his contract. I DO think we will see more of Tebow than many on this forum initially thought we would, and I think he'll be playing quite a bit of RB as well.

The article's main point is that the Jets offense is so atrocious, that the only way to salvage anything from it is to have Tebow in there running for his life, like last season with the Donks. I find this hard to believe, considering the number of incredible affletes that populate the offensive side of the Jets roster. I note that the author slipped up and actually mentioned that supa-dupa all-world LT D'Brickashaw (4th overall 1st round bust) is a revolving door who allowed most of Sanchez' sacks last year. I figure that most here at CF could improve the Jets offense in a few hours with calls to forgotten/ignored/blackballed white players.

The Jets beat writers are suggesting to play Tebow at tailback with either Connor or Greene in the backfield as a variation of an Elephant Backfield. With the way the Jets are looking Ryan could be desperate by week 4 and try this or Tebow starting at qb. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets...eDuZfWiLtMkoM?utm_medium=rss&utm_content=Jets

White Is Right, I see the same thing. Tebow will be better than Sanchez in that he handles adversity better and with the Jet OLine, there'll be plenty of adversity.

Jets cut Bryan Thomas. Now Garrett McIntyre is first string outside linebacker.

What a shame that decade after decade there are no White running backs playing at the high school level with the ability to be given an opportunity to eventually compete with the likes of the great Shonn Greene in the NFL:

Shonn Greene has 79 touches, and in all those touches has forced ONE missed tackle, which was probably an accident

Maybin is another colossal first round bust. If he couldn't do anything for Caste waterboy Rex Ryan, he's likely done in the NFL. But he'll be quickly forgotten, unlike Mike Mamula, who had a semi-decent NFL career that was 5x better than Maybin's, who like 99% of other black busts gets a racial pass.

Jets waived OLB Aaron Maybin. Maybin appeared to get his career back on track as the team's most effective per-play pass rusher in 2011, but he had just two QB hits and zero sacks this season. The No. 9 overall pick in the 2009 draft managed just one tackle on 120 snaps through eight games.

how do you not even accidentally trip someone over you? 1 tackle? was he actively running away from LoS? and even then...

Don, if it is the end of the line for Maybin, he'll have racked up 6 sacks in four years. That's still much better than Vernon Gholston, who was picked 6th overall by NY a few years ago. Gholston, according to this objective list, is the biggest draft bust (as a pass rusher) in the last 30 years, due to the fact he had zero sacks in three seasons:

* http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703559604576174861998755324.html

*Maybin barely missed the top 5 Busts on the list above...All 5 are black, Mamula nowhere to be found on this list.

P.S: While doing a Net search for Maybin's stats, I saw he ran an official 4.88/40 at the Combine. Also, they list him at 227 pounds...How many white college linebackers or defensive ends run a 4.88 or better at that size each year. Maybe 100?

But you forget, even though Maybin had an average or so college career, with average measurables, he looked like an "athletic god" to the scouts and DWFs. This, in a nutshell, is one of the biggest Caste problems. Because of the decades of CM programming, a black somehow looks more athletic that any white. This then transitions to the myth of "endless upside" which is why poor to mediocre black players will stick around the league forever, while a white player must be supernaturally, unbelievably outstanding from the first practice to the last play to garner any playing time.

Nice link Truthteller. Outside of Gholston, no one talks about those other black failures. The sportsmedia is still obsessed with Bosworth and Mamula.

Mike Mamula was not a bust. When the sports media say that he was they're just lying. It's nothing but anti-white propaganda.

The hatred for Tim Tebow is not only inexplicable, but in terms of professionals sports, it is completely and unequivocally unprecedented. Never has any athlete been despised like this. "Journalists" relish bashing him. Now, his teammates talk openly about how "terrible" he is. What has he done to invoke such vitriol?

The only player not speaking anonymously was white guard Matt Slauson. Shockingly, he basically said what all the idiots on ESPN have said, and continue to say- "he can't play!" How does this moron expect Tebow to feel after reading his comments? Well, I'm certain he doesn't care, just as the rest of the league seems not to care at all about Tebow. Talk about being "disrespected!"

I don't think we need to check the record books to state definitively that no QB before Tebow has ever been uncermoniously dumped after leading his team deep into the playoffs the year before. Tebow is still young, and has performed miracles on the football field in limited action, in dramatically scaled back offenses. He is clearly a "winner," something the jock sniffers and DWFs supposedly regard as the most important trait anyone can possess. And yet, he can't even get any playing time behind the league's worst starting QB, who has "led" the Jets to a miserable 3-6 start.

There is no question in my mind that Tebow was sent to New York on purpose. I don't care what typically positive mumbo jumbo he uttered after the trade- this kid cannot be happy playing in a city that is the world's epicenter of evil. And now he has to endure the coverage of his "teammates" throwing him under the bus in such a nasty fashion.
Tebow has barely played this season, and yet he is being castigated for being "terrible?" Remember that Steven A. Smiff went nuts when Scam Newton was midly criticized for his idiotic "Superman" celebration, and directly attributed that to "racism." Just imagine what Smiff and every other jock sniffer on the face of the earth would say about any black player thrown under the bus like this by his teammates.

Just as Brian Leonard, Jacob Hester and Toby Gerhart were all drafted by teams that were the least likely to need their services, Tebow was directed to the city that was least likely to embrace him. Even I thought he'd at least get some playing time there. Instead, they are purposefully mocking him, making him out to be like the King of Fools in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. What other QB has ever been asked to be the punter's protector?

At this point, I think it will take all of Tebow's endless supply of naive optimism to convince himself not to just retire from a league that wants no part of him. Tebow is kind, principled and humble. He is like a crucifix to vampires, when juxtaposed against the backdrop of criminality and corruption that is the present day NFL.

Solid post, but don't forget Trent Dilfer, who after leading the Ravens to a Super Bowl win after the 2000 season not only was dumped by Baltimore but was out of the league completely until being signed halfway through the '01 season by Seattle as a backup.

A technicality: Tebow himself picked the Jets over the Jaguars, who reportedly were willing to offer Denver slightly more in terms of picks/cash. The owner of the Broncos ate something like a third day draft pick to accommodate Tebow's preference. It seemed to me like an admission of guilt - a token consolation concession for giving him the shaft.

Matt Slauson, apparently one of Tim Tebow's closer friends on this misfit squad, claims that this article's quotes from him (calling Tebow an "athlete") are months old at least, and Tebow has already teased him about it. The other stock quote attributed to an actual player, Mike DeVito, could easily be just as outdated and out of context.

This week's new story, which would not be a story at all without rabid NY sports journalists asking just the right questions to just the right people, really manages to obfuscate the true dynamic at play: black teammates do not like Tim Tebow. He is too magnanimous, too honest, too virtuous, too empathetic, too White for them to relate. I do understand the sentiment: he must be as foreign to them as swimming with a school of dolphins, teaching public speaking to Han Chinese, or (heh) proselytizing Christianity to Africans in mud huts.

Of course the news rag exhumes old quips from white players to legitimize blacks' anti-white racism. Tebow is the face of the Jets franchise, even though he is not afforded the courtesy of defining it with playing time. When the Jets suck, blame the star. The beat reporter is just doing his job. In a just-slightly-more-perverse parallel universe, journalists would ask black players if their c**ks were bigger than Tebow's, by their own assessment, then rush to print a breaking story where Tim Tebow "allegedly" ranks dead-last in length and girth.

I'm a Jets homer of exponential passivity these past few years. Any "awake" fan can find at least as much fault with his football franchise as he can with his Republican governor or presidential candidate. But something about the Jets has just been... off. The Tebow acquisition seemed like a plotline plucked right out of some Covington goon-fiction, where the noble white savior leads a trusting fraction from the belly of the beast to the promised land, all the while vanquishing hordes of cocoa-skinned enemies.

Sanchez has another year of guaranteed eight figures, but Tebow also has another year of guaranteed six figures. The Jets won't surrender him for free. If those QB contracts both had a year subtracted, Tebow surely would have been going by now... I think. Perhaps this season will be his proverbial purgatory, Rex Ryan's belly the proverbial boulder in front of the tomb, and our phoenix will rise out of this hellfire after all to redeem us our worldwide place in conventional, instinctual opinion.

If I recall correctly, Tebow would dispute Elway's public claim that he had a choice of where to go between New York and Jacksonville. I couldn't believe at the time that Tebow would pick New York over anywhere- talk about a fish out of water!

Elway never liked Tebow, obviously. Last season was an accidental, cinderella story that Elway seemed to despise, even as the team pulled off one miraculous win after another under Tebow's leadership. I think that's why he worked so relentlessly to bring Manning in, because there was no other QB he could get that would make the fans forget Tebow.

I wouldn't put it past Elway to have orchestrated this whole trade to New York out of spite for Tebow. Kind of an inside joke- "Hey Rex, just think of the laughs you'll get in that locker room with this boy scout there!"

I feel bad for this very decent young man, and hope he can go somewhere else and be given a fair opportunity.

That's the story the media pushed at the time but I remember Tim Tebow very clearly saying that he had no choice in the matter.
