The Minnesota-Tampa Bay game will be on soon so I'm starting the thread. This game could be borefest or rather interesting depending on Minnesota's gameplan, though most likely a borefest.

I watched the first half and didn't see toby on the field for a single snap. Adrian Peterson is the absolute worst pass blocking rb in football. He continues to prove it game after game.

apparently Toby has one carry for 6 yards, yes Peterson's blocking is supposed to be why Gerhart was there, at least a 3rd down back.

The few times I tuned in I saw Peterson lose about 3 or 4 yards. Just saw some sumo trying to fight Jared Allen and kept going at it while Allen's helmet was off, Allen looked like a man trying to grab a hold of a woman not trying to hit her when she is thrashing about, the sumo literally looked like a woman trying to fight with his arms thrashing, instead of getting control of him he should have at least pushed him, didn't matter, next play he outmuscled him and sacked Freeman. Didn't matter because Peterson lost yardage and then because of poor blocking Ponder had to scramble, 3rd and long, no one open.

If Toby can not see the writing on the wall, I suggest he get some eyeglasses ASAP. If he has any confidence in his ability, he demands a trade at the end of the season. He is being buried with the Vikings. Another year like this he will be footnote in NFL history.

Gentlemen, What's your assessment of the TB, QB? Is he a cut above the rest of the black QB's or just more of the same?

Freeman is easily the best black QB in the NFL, for one he isn't dumb as bricks like a lot of other black QBs and he doesn't have a hype machine backing him up like Newton or RG3 (who aren't nearly as smart as him). He's also a traditional pocket passer, which caste worshipers don't seem to like blacks being.

Freeman being the best isn't saying much, most of his play is the typical dink and dunk. His top receiver last night was Doug Martin, the runningback, and before the 4th quarter when the defense started playing even worse as far as corners, his 2nd leading receiver was Dallas Clark, the tight end. I mean look at the pass last week that was almost 95+ yard td if it weren't for the safety chasing him down and tackling, pretty much all of those yards were after the catch. Just like RG3 and Cam Newton, we never see that "rocket arm" they are supposed to possess. Well we see Cam go more vertical than those 2 which is why he has more interceptions. Freeman has more vertical throws than RG3 but I think with his struggling either he, or the coaching staff figured out how to reduce the turnovers, so I think he is a better version of David Garrard, in the sense that he actually has the ability to go vertical, he just doesn't do it that often. I think out of the 3 young black qbs, he is the one that sticks the longest. RG3 showed in college going vertical but with receivers having at least 5 yards of seperation, tighter windows in the NFL, not the best wr corps but Brees makes it work with who? the slowest starters in the league in Colston who is more like a hybrid wr/te and doesn't run the supposed 4.5 that he came out with in college. Lance Moore who should have been shown the door in favor of Hass in a fair world. Then there is Devery Henderson who has hands of stone and stopped being a deep threat about 3 or 4 years ago, now with a new up and comer with even worse hands and injury prone, but not as injury prone as Adrian Arrington (who spent like 4 years on the roster because of "upside" [based on one good game against a Florida secondary that started true freshmans] but couldn't even make it through practice healthy, and we are supposed to believe Chase Lyman given the boot so quickly because of a few injury problems). Yes Brees is elite but if thats what class they are going to put RG3 in then that is who I will compare him to.

And the really the main difference between Freeman and RG3 is that RG3 can run faster and the coach has designed qb runs for him. Defenses will eventually find a way to shut RG3 down but they do have a nice system, they use the pistol formation the most which is what I have been wondering why the NFL doesn't run more often, it combines the advantages of being in shotgun with the advantages of being in singleback or i formation, the runningback is downhill when he takes the handoff, you can run all the same plays you would out under center, in shotgun the problem is running, the main thing you have is the draw, the Patriots were creative in 2010 with Woodhead getting a few direct snaps and running a normal running play, there was also the toss, which was counted as a pass because it went like 2 millimeters forward but other than that not much you can do. Then you get the benefits of being in shotgun, and being that most qbs played in shotgun in college its not that big of a jump, the only thing you have to work with is timing with the snaps and the handoffs because of the unusual line up, qb 4 yards back and tailback 7 yards back. RG3 lines up often with 3 other guys in the backfield, power running, and usually just has one of those guys sneak out into the flat on playaction. They aren't maximizing the potential of that kind of offense, frankly because RG3 probably can't do it, with all of that running, when you do play action you usually want to throw it deep, hes done that twice this season. So he will be figured out and stopped, but I would like to see the pistol stay.

Woodhead could have had the touchdown Vereen got had he been the one given the sweep out of a power formation. Instead, for God knows what reason, they run him up the middle out of 4-WR shotgun on the 2 yard line and he only gets one. the announcers mentioned that since Vereen was in you knew it was going to be a finesse run and not something up the middle since he's not that kind of back. He isn't half the scat back Woodhead is, but like all white backs, Woodhead has had to learn how to block, and the ability/willingness to block is a death sentence to be used only in blocking formations.

Just refusing to learn to block or refusing to put any effort into it means you will be gifted the primo running plays in this league(unless you are one of those pasty craftsmen).

I really hope Andy Reid's perfect record coming off a bye ends to Convick's former team. Nice to Ryan doing so well.

Ridiculous about the Vikings Ponder is a talented qb, they supposedly have an "elite back" in Peterson, a good slot receiver in Harvin, Kyle Rudolph who has tremendous talent as both receiver and blocker, the 2nd string back could start for most teams and put up good numbers. The defense has a weak secondary in terms of corners, but an elite safety in Harrison Smith so much that they call him "the eraser" because he makes good plays on mistakes that corners made, elite de in Jared Allen and Robison is doing great as well, so they make their share of plays on defense as whole. So it pretty much comes down to poor coaching, an AA hire. Tampa 2 specialist like every other black coach, Romeo Crennel being the exception being a former dline coach

One of the announcers for the Patriots game said "teams are usually surprised at the athletic ability of the Patriots when they play them, Im not sure why" Yeah I think I know why....
Then the other guy was like "there was an illegal block on the Woodhead catch that allowed him to get so many yards" even though the penalty that wasn't called didn't affect the play, Woodhead just has the speed, it is Ridley who needs a huge gaping hole to get a 20 yard run, geez did you guys see that run? you could have drove a truck through it, Woodhead would have been off for the races, would have ran right past the angle Craig Dahl had

Sanchez doing horrible, saw Hartline get a couple of catches. Lex Hilliard getting carries when there are tons of Whites more talented not getting a chance, like the Montana back that came after him and passed up his rushing records by a mile. We all know how terrible Shonn Greene is.

Hayden the rugby guy just ran a route, but Sanchez chokes under pressure and Greene fails to make it to the flat where the ball is thrown And a few mins later in a different game, Bellicheck puts in Ebner, another Rugby guy in at S, well nickeback whatever you want to call it, he makes a stop to force the Rams to punt.

Here's the word on Jordy according to ESPN Fantasy:

Nelson (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against Jacksonville, the Packers' official site reports.
Spin:
Although he attempted to test his leg during pregame warmups, Nelson apparently wasn't feeling good enough to play through it. Look for Randall Cobb and James Jones to see the bulk of the targets in the Packers' receiving corps, while Donald Driver could receive a few looks as well.

Looks like Scamboy has been brought back down to earth. 16 out of 30 and 1 pick so far. Also, Supa afflete RGIII isn't playing well at all. I wonder if BigUnreal will talk about the conspiracy to bring these two magic affletes down to earth.

wow the two slowpokes Ridley and Greene manage to both have career long runs, one of 41 yards and 36 yards. Ridley had great blocking but he does have some moves to get through holes, he failed to maintain balance after he stiff armed a player, Woodhead would have bounced around those holes and made a td and juked that guy. Greene had a huge hole and open field the entire way and caught from behind, most of the defenders were close to the line.

Could you imagine a White guy going several years with tons of carries without breaking a 40+ run? or even one season as a feature back. People criticized Woodhead but running out of 4 receiver sets, even when they used him creatively there were more defenders deep and it was more about quickness making people miss, he should have a career long of 50, but since the toss from shotgun went like two millimeters forward it went as a pass, his long was 36. Darren Sproles, who is used in the same exact way, had a long of 36 last year. Yet he is considered blazing fast. Woodhead is considered Rudy.

Edit: my bad, Greene just had a career long of 36 yards not 46, still no 40+ yard runs for him on close to 700 carries now for his career. Even the "slow" Hillis had a long of 48 playing on a team that had no weapons and terrible rg and rt with the box always stuffed to where he had to fight most of the time just to get past the line of scrimmage. The "slow" Gerhart on limited carries has a long of 67, his longest reception 41. Greene's longest reception is 36, apparently he can't run longer than 36 yards without someone getting him. The longest reception Hillis has is 52.

Speaking of well below mediocre runningbacks, my program just switched to the Green Bay game because Patriots were winning by so much. Green gets a handoff and trips over himself trying to make a small cut to the right. Pathetic.

Saw Luck & the Colts win in over time, however missed it!

I wonder if there will still be questions about being first pick over RG3

So the two qbs who have had a lot of people comparing the two just played each other. Cutler clearly outshined Scam Newton and won the game. 6-1 vs. 1-6

If we don't see Tebow next week we may never.

Convick loses
RGIII (VYII) loses
Scam Newton loses
Russel Wilson loses
