here is the thread from the last season: http://www.castefootball.us/forums/showthread.php/13729-white-goal-scorers-2011-2012
and it's conclusion: http://www.castefootball.us/forums/...rers-2011-2012?p=248014&viewfull=1#post248014

and torres was also the top scorer of the 2012 euro champs

i believe that white goal scorers have never been as dominant as they are now, and i look forward to this new season
in england there will be even more talented white strikers than last year, it should be interesting

in france just 1 match has been played and ibrahimowitch is already the leading top scorer with 2 goals
i'm pretty sure that he will be the top scorer of the league
hopefully gignac will do well

i will start this thread with a tribute to 2 of the best goal scorers from the 2000's that stopped their careers this year: schevchenko and inzaghi

they are the 2nd and 3rd goal scorers of all times in european competitions:

(it's easier to score a lot in today's champions league than in the champions leagues from before 1992 though)

schevshenko is even the 3rd top scorer of all times in the champions league's final matches (excluding the group stages) behing messi and cristiano ronaldo

inzaghi's best moment for me was his final vs liverpool: http://www.castefootball.us/forums/threads/11474-Great-Goal-Thread?p=225242&viewfull=1#post225242

here is a great article on FIFA's website aying tribute to him: http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/news/newsid=1678498.html

Inzaghi was, in many ways, the antithesis of the modern striker. Indeed, while his nose for goal was unquestionable, his slight frame, relative lack of pace and no-frills playing style at times made him seem distinctly out of place alongside the fast, skilful, all-action forwards of contemporary football.
What he did have, however, was an unparalleled knack for being in the right place at the right time, which once prompted Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to quip: “Inzaghi was born offsideâ€￾. And with his supreme anticipation, timing and ability to convert chances with foot, head, knee or backside, the Italian often appeared to have a sixth sense when it came to scoring goals.

schevchenko was even better
like i said he is the 3rd top scorer of all times in the champions league's final matches (excluding the group stages) behing messi and cristiano ronaldo
he is the only player that has been a top scorer in champions league with 2 different clubs, and he won the golden ball

http://youtu.be/qV4wq1AxTf0

they were from the era in which i watched and loved soccer the most, and even though some other players scored a lot in this era too, none comes close to them

ac milan could sign the danish striker bendtner soon
i hope he signs there because:
1-he had a very goo euro champs with 2 goals and 1 assist in 3 matches
2-ac milan is disgusting and the only good striker they have is pato

also, will this player still be on manchester united's bench this season?:

he was the top scorer of the premier league 2 years ago

very good start of the season for gignac from marseille
2 goals already, in 3 matches
everybody made fun of him last year because he had fitness problems and was unlucky, but it was unfair, as he has already been top scorer of the french league the season just before

it was just a matter of time before he gets back to his best shape, and now as i said before the season in the french soccer thread, he's 100% ready for once and it shows in his stats
he also plays well
so we have 2 players that could be top scorers of the french league: 1-ibrahimowitch, 2-gignac
both are of gipsy heritage (not sure for ibrahimowitch but sure for gignac) but since there are so few white strikers in french ligue 1 let's enjoy their successes

messi is also having a great start of the season with 4 goals in 2 matches

michu in premier league is the top scorer with 3 goals in 2 matches

2 white strikers finally get a chance to play: berbatov goes to fulham and bendtner to juventus

it's deserved for both as berbatov was top scorer of premier league 2 years ago so he deserves to be titular in a club, and bendtner did 2 goals and 1 assist in 3 matches at the euro champs so he deserves to play in a top club

-in france: gignac scored once again - and what a goal!
ibrahimowicz scored 2 goals
so right now in france it's starting to look very good after 4 matches:
ibrahimowitch (white) first with 4 goals, then gignac (white) 2nd with 3 goals, tied with a few blacks

-in england: van persie scored a hat trick today and he is now the leading goal scorer with 4 goals, tied with michu
both are whites

-in italy:
maxi lopez scored for his first match as a titular :icon_cool:
german denis scored too
so far only 2 matches have been played and pazzini with his hat-trick is leading
the top 3 goalscorers are all whites

-spain:
cristiano ronaldo had a difficult start but he scored 2 goals today
messi is leading, and then the mestizo falcao is tied with white argentine higuain with 3 goals

a negative point: i don't know what happened to llorente? he was rumored to leave athletic bilbao for a bigger club (he sure deserves it) and was insulted by his own suporters for this, but he's still at athletic bilbao and he doesn't play

Englishman Rickie Lambert has got 2 goals and 1 assist for Southampton in 200 minutes this season. He's 30 years-old and this is his first season in England's top division, which is crazy. For Southampton, Lambert scored 77 goals in 132 games in the lower divisions. So why wasn't he picked by a Premier League club before?

The xenophobic and anti-White English club leaders prefer to select foreigners like Dzeko and mediocre, talentless negroes like Carlton Cole, Bobby Zamora, and Emile Heskey.

messi is incredible, right now it seems that barcelona is not in top shape with a lot of injuried players and no central defenders (puyol and piqué injuried) but he still scores a lot
he scored 10 goals in 7 matches (including every competition), yet he doesn't look at his best
he's going to make history

Clint Dempsey scored a goal in his Spurs debut against Lazio only to have it called back for offside. Another offside mistake by the officials. As I've said before here, sorting out erroneous offside calls is more important to the integrity of the sport than goal line technology.

Frederic38 you should be happy today GIROUD scored his first goal with Arsenal in the 6-1 win against Coventry in the 3rd round of the league cup:

http://translate.google.fr/translat...alites/Mu-assure-giroud-marque/315740&act=url

hopefully the beginning of a long serie

thanks for the update Bk21, i heard that he also had an assist in that match
if you add his assist against montpellier in champions league that's not bad
hopefully he'll score in the next premiere league match
he has everything to succeed in premiere league

he scored the same kind of goals that he scored at montpellier:
Arsenal-v-Coventry-Olivier-Giroud-scores_2834907.jpg

GOAL FOR ARSENAL! Olivier Giroud scores his first Arsenal goal - Coquelin plays him in and he lifts the ball over Murphy (39) 1-0

https://twitter.com/Arsenal/status/251039774880702465

there are few players nowadays that chip the ball over the goalkeeper like this

I remember a doc about Arsenal and Thierry Henry; Arsene Wenger said that Henry didn't score at his first 8 or so matches! but he beleived in him and keep trusting his scoring abilities with the consequences everybody knows.. I feel Wenger is willing to do the same with Giroud, he just beleives in him and is willing to give him the adaptation time he needs (such things are very rare in today's football); Giroud plays almost every match with Arsenal even without scoring!
2 years ago Wenger took moroccan Chamakh for free, and put him on the bench although he was regularly scoring (at the beginning of the season), a great coach like Wenger is able to see the real value of a player without just looking at his ratio goal/min at a particular time of the season

another thing that's similar with henry and helps to understand wenger better is that henry was one of the few strikers that made as many assists as goals during 1 season
giroud is this kind of player also (at montpellier he was the player of the team with the most assists, and the 4th of the league, it could have been way more with better players around him)
wenger likes the strikers that can not only score but make passes
that's why he liked henry and van persie
wenger said that it's why he likes giroud, his ability to pass the ball as well as scoring goals

i have to say also that from experience, the players that adapt very quickly to a new club are very often not the best ones

i saw the same kind of numbers for van persie (matches whithout scoring)

a very frustrating match for giroud, with another miss, after getting passed the goal keeper
he wouldn't have missed this last year with montpellier :frown:

Thanks so much for your updates, Frederic.

I thought of you today when I saw two separate white kids in my neighborhood wearing Messi jerseys (the Argentina jersey).

Nice to have them idolize white athletes as opposed to buffoons like Kobe Bryant and Michael Vick.

thanks for your support liverlips, i love posting here
messi is making history, it's so great that we are witnessing it
he'll beat his own reacord for the most goals scored this season in my opinion, because right now he doesn't look 100% yet he scores amazing amount of goals
i think that he will peak during the second half of the season, during the important matches of champions league, he wants to win it this year

he has more than 1 goal per match currently, let's see how many he will score tonight

He had 3 neat occasions against Chelsea, the last one was indeed very frustrating! he is experiencing an obvious lack of confidence but his skills didn't vanish in the summer, he'll have better days

it's obvious that he over-thinks while at montpellier he was more instictive
he had the same problem when playing for the french national team for the first time
here you can see his first match with the french national team: http://youtu.be/OvYHnHHB128?t=2m3s
i put a link where the video starts exactly where he over-thinks
he said after the match that he hesitated too much, while when playing for montpellier he wouldn't have hesitated and he would have scored easily
that's because giroud is still an amateur player, he has only 2 seasons playing as a professional

I didn't see much football this weekend however I did see two ex-Milan players, Cassano and Pirlo, scoring. Milan have a shortage of goalscorers this year. It's all El Shaarawy and Pazzini. I think they're the only players to have scored.

Last week in the Serie A thread I mentioned a Recoba goal I saw during a Uruguayan league match. This is a more appropriate forum for it. Here's the goal I mentioned plus another - from a corner in the same match!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYnoNCX_UW4&feature=related

amazing goals
he almost looks fitter than when he played for internazionale!
i agree with porthos about today's players beeing too stereotyped, we no longer have players like recoba now

giroud scored his first goal in premiere league:

he did well because he had a goal+ an assist, and on his goal he laso launched the counter attack

i believe we are starting to see the real giroud now
i like it when podolsky plays alongside with giroud
the black fullback gibbs is however a disgrace, he can't cross
