Anybody remember this guy? I don't follow football much anymore, but I did at the time (2007). David Ball was an awesome WR who broke a lot of Jerry Rice's College Records.
He went undrafted because he was a WHITE WR, but the Bears finally signed him as a FA. I watched him play that preseason and he was catching everything they sent his way. If i remember correctly, he made a one handed catch in the endzone. There was another white WR the bears signed as an undrafted FA at the time too, who was also lighting it up in the preseason. Anyway, I was absolutely shocked when the Bears cut both white WRs at the end of preseason. I couldn't believe it! What the heck was going on?
Well now i know what was going on - discrimination against white athletes. Ball could have been one of the all time greats, but he never got a chance.
