If you want a rising white star at shortstop how about Clint Barmes with Colorado. You have a good list of talented white players. These all-star posts are important because they promote several talented white athletes and remind us of forgotton players occasionally. It is easy to forget a white guy(or even a black AMERICAN in BASEBALL sometimes) in a world of hispanics.
