Can't Rotoworld just say everytime they post a battle like this, "We like the black guy to win out"? |
We should keep score, just for laughs, I think it's 2,324 to 0 so far.

in this case at least it somehow makes sense since it's in club's best interest that their recent 1st round pick (who they rightly call a disappointment if not a bust) takes the job with views on the future.
i am sure Jon will be the winner here regardless.

I would really like to do some training with Atlas Stones. It looks like one of the best things for the improvement of leg, back and core strength.
I want to work my legs, and I don't really like doing heavy squats. Picking up stones seems like a more practical and enjoyable training regimen.

I'm always wary of folks named "Zack" or "Zak" -- but we now know that Zack Follett is a GENTILE!

From Rotoworld:
Tony Scheffler looked "very much in sync" with Matthew Stafford during
OTA season, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Dating even back to Georgia, Stafford
doesn't have much history throwing to the tight end, but Scheffler is
more of a wide receiver anyway. "I love being in this offense," said
Scheffler, whose talent went to waste last year under Josh McDaniels.
"There's a lot of chances for guys to get favorable matchups."

Yet another sumo picked in the first round in recent years to great media applause appears to be a bust:
The Lions have declared their right tackle position "wide open." Incumbent Gosder Cherilus is coming off a miserable season both as a run and pass blocker, so Jon Jansen and rookie Jason Fox, among others, will be given looks with the first unit. Jansen is deep into his decline phase and Cherilusisn't any good. The pro-ready Fox might be Detroit's best option.

Such BS.. Heckendorf originally signed with the Pack who are pretty fair to white WRs. But the situation he was in at WR was a crowded one. They already had Jones, Driver, Jennings, Martin Nelson, and I believe Swain. Looks like both Heckendorf and Roehl the 2 former NDSU stars will be jerked around in this league despite their obvious talent.

Lions waived WR Kole Heckendorf. Heckendorf went undrafted out of North Dakota State two Aprils ago. Though blessed with an impressive size-speed combination (6'2/191, 4.49), the 24-year-old was outplayed by no-namers at Lions rookie minicamp last week.
Yeah, whatever. . . John Standeford could have advised Kole on how much of a genuine shot he would get in Motown.

Madsen was a fantastic WR at Utah. I saw him last year in the UFL, playing for the Las Vegas Locos. His body type (6-5) and leaping ability (38”+) is similar to that of Danny Farmer or Randy Moss.

From Rotoworld: Lions signed TE John Madsen. Madsen has the skill-set of a receiver, but his blocking has always left a lot to be desired. The Lions already have five tight ends on the depth chart, so Madsen is a poor bet to make the final roster.
Madsen has the skill set of a receiver because he is a receiver. He's another tall, lean white receiver who was switched to tight end by the Raiders and forced to try and beef up solely for racial reasons. He'll never be a good tight end in the NFL because wide receiver is his position. Let's see, 6'5" with great hands, yeh let's make the skinny kid a tight end because he didn't run a 4.2 40 when he would be a better number two receiver than many/most teams have, the Raiders among them. Zach Miller as the TE, Madsen as the flanker, would have been nice but tis verboten in the NFL.

Beat writer Tom Kowalski believes Kevin Smith is "running like a beaten man" this season. According to Kowalski, coach Jim Schwartz still believes Smith can be the answer at tailback, but "it's tough to see when the guards are getting blown up on a consistent basis." Smith is running without confidence and failing to take the fight to defenders. It hasn't helped that he's been playing through shoulder and knee injuries all season. |
This is exactly why I don't want Gerhart to come to Detroit. I'm a beaten Lions fan. Since JFK got shot they've had more stadiums than playoff victories. It's just a horrible organization. I've seen two running backs in a row show some promise as a feature back (Jones and Smith) and get beaten down physically, mentally and emotionally by being the top back for such a terrible team. The same thing happened to Barry Sanders, who just decided to walk away and quit rather than play for them. Detroit journalist Terry Foster calls it Lionized, which is a player coming in with enthusiasm and talent and getting absolutely beaten down by playing for them. He says he's seen it over and over again through the years. I'm scared of Toby getting drafted by the Lions (too big of a risk) and Denver (because McDaniels is a racist idiot who will probably try to play him at fullback). If either of those teams don't draft him, I'll let out a big sigh of relief on draft day.
For selfish reasons, it would be nice to see Gehart every week. But this is way bigger than that obviously. And it wouldn't be fun seeing him taking punishment every game. I'll be more than content watching him on my small lap top every week.
Is there any other teams we should really fear drafting him?

i was going to post that yesterday, slipped my mind.
i'd love for them to write something like that about, say, Dennis Dixon, haha. it's a nice thought (he can be a starting QB) but unrealistic, he isn't cut out to be a quarterback...

The anti-White troll at Rotoworld is nothing if not predictable. Don't you dare think about being anything but a White Special Teams Demon, boy:
The Lions reportedly hope that 2009 seventh-round pick Zack Follett will help fill the void left by Ernie Sims' trade at outside linebacker. It's a nice thought, but unrealistic. Follett is a fine pass rusher with special teams upside, but isn't remotely cut out to start at weak-side linebacker. The former Cal Bear's most likely role will be behind SLB Julian Peterson.

Even with all the injuries and underachieving of black runningbacks teams would rather pick up some black scrub than allow a white player like Woodhead a chance to start. There are a few exceptions to the rule because players like Forsey, Jervey, and Hillis started only after blacks were injured. After several starts it was right back to the the bench for all these guys. Travis Jervey only racked up 503 his entire NFL career despite the fact he was the most athletic rb in the NFL and played 9 season . 5 starts was the only chance he got because of injuries. Besides the season he started 5 games he only was granted 46 carries. The average 2nd or 3rd string black rb gets that many carries or more in a season.
