It just occurred to me by looking at the title of this thread that Boling might be in very rare company as a guy to break the 10 second barrier in the 100, the 20 second barrier in the 200 and the 45 second barrier in the 400. I'm not sure how many other guys have done this but it can't be many.

Looks like Sergey Kovalev had a fight today, losing by decision to an obscure, but undefeated, opponent from Sweden. Sad to see he’s still fighting as he’s one of my all time favorites.

That kick at the end reminded me of Nick Symmonds and his legendary finishing speed! 800’s are some of the most fun races to watch in my opinion as so much psychology goes into them.

I know Lemaitre gets a lot of flack for not being tough enough mentally but I really think he showed a lot of mental fortitude in certain races. This one specifically where he had a lot of ground to make up against a stacked field and won.

Seeing that Lemaitre is running gives me that nostalgic feeling from about a decade ago or more. I would expect about 10.7 territory from him, but who really knows. Maybe with age and maturity he’s gained more confidence and wants to give it an another go. Plenty of athletes have run fast...

It really was strange how he seemingly took rounds off and would either turn around or stand there in a shoulder roll position. He never seemed gassed so I wouldn’t think it was a conditioning thing but who knows. Maybe as he ages his mind will calm down and he’ll be able to focus better.

I watched this one. It was a one sided affair when Garcia actually tried. His power was way too much for Haney. But, his mind is all over the place and I’m not sure he’s in a good spot mentally.
